Yeah.. same here.. mom was the one at home.. dad never had to hit me. His stare was enough when I was a kid. The look that said 'one more time mofo and you'll see'. I never took a chance.. lol. because I have seen him fight. I guess these days parents are equally snowflakes.. it's kinda getting to the same trend here.. kids are over-smart and parents proudly say 'I don't touch my kid'. I think a nice beating sometimes will remind them what they shouldn't be doing.

Hahaha.. My son has got some decent ones from me and after that I jus have to look at him. he knows trouble is coming.. lol

We treat our kids as friends too in a way, no? We are softer than our parents were. And they most definitely will take advantage of that.
 
Too many posts to quote but we are in the same boat with my just turned 6 year old. I know he has ADHD, is a little young and immature but is incredibly smart. He goes to a private school where my wife teaches. His teacher wants us to put him on meds. Being a sped teacher, I see his ADHD tendencies and can be a handful but since he goes to a private school there are different expectations that they just don't want to deal with. That's my big issue. They refuse to accommodate. For example, all year long he has been next to this other truely naughty, mean kid in line because they line uo alphabetically. Why not separate them? It would make everyones lives easier. They get in trouble in line together amost daily. The old school mentality is that being a private school, they shouldn't have to deal with these behaviors like a public school. Which I agree with to an extent. As new teachers come in and the old hags leave, that mentality will change. I am not against meds at all. If they would be affecting academic or friendships he would be on them right now. By the way he is a solid, tall #69 pound kid. He is thick. Hopefully will be a beast and get my uncles and wife's uncles sizes of 6'4"-6'10". Haha

I also use to spank but haven't in at least 6-8 months. I determined that it was doing more harm than good and with his ADHD, some of his actions are out of his control. After we calm down he can tell us that he doesn't know why he acts like that and his mouth can't stop moving.

Yes we do try to put too many kids on medication. Technology is killing us. It's creating kids who don't know how to be bored and then we call it ADHD. Then kids want attention from their parents who are constantly on their phones. They don't get it so then they get it anyway they can in the form of negative attention. Not all parents but many of the difficult kids. That's all they want. Put the dam phone down, teach your kids what it's meant to be loved and spend quality time with them. It's a visous cycle. I am guilty of being on my phone too much at home. It's just too dam easy...lol

I would have to disagree. For some yes and for some no. I agree some parents don’t spend time with their kids and Medicate them as an answer. As a person who doesn’t even use pain killers for pain, I don’t believe in medication as the first answer. For some like my son, who has gone through thousands of dollars in tests and doctors this is the best answer. Off meds he can’t control or focus himself. On his meds he can focus and controls impulses and can now function better in school. Trust me it’s the last thing we want, but to help him
Succeed it’s what works. We make sure he is monitored and looking for the day he is done with them.

You guys are talking about two completely different points, you're talking about kids who actually need the medication. And they're absolutely are plenty of kids who do. But we also have a massive problem with doctors over prescribing medications when it's not necessary to just put a Band-Aid on it. That's not just for children with adhd, that goes for everything and a lot of good doctors will tell you this themselves. Instead of the doctor teaching you how to fix your high cholesterol they just put you on cholesterol medication, instead of someone teaching stress Management they give you anxiety medication, maybe you got erectile dysfunction, well we don't need to figure that out just take some Cialis. Same goes with doctors prescribing medications for children who don't really need the medications. That doesn't mean your child does not need the medication it sounds like he absolutely does so he's getting the medication he needs and that's a good thing. We most likely are. Doctors are fast to give out meds. I saw this when I had my recent surgery. The doctor knows opioids have no effect on me, but prescribed them any way. When I told him they don’t work, his answer was take two. I didn’t, but that’s the medical industry. I think as parents most don’t research and advocate they way they should. Meds should be a last resort not first. Just like us. Supps should aid not be an answer. I respect all opinions and good we can have a peaceful back and forth.

I remember when my kids were babies, everyday was so exciting I couldn't wait for them to start walking and talking, now I just wish they would sit down and shut up lol
 
Sooooo ........ What's up, I'm still a little hurt feeling in the lower back but it's tolerable.

Hit the gym and still making progress on pressing movements, today on the bench I hit 280lbs for 7,6 with about 2 min rest between the set, at the end I waited 5 min and did 315 for a single and 325 for a single, no spot so it was light enough that I wasn't worried about it.
After that I proceeded to do a kinda full body workout but less emphasis on anything that involved the lower back or glutes. All I did for leg work was some laying leg curls and extensions yadie ya.

This was the second time I tried the Neuro Melatonin pre workout. I like it, kinda made me relaxed and get in the zone without being tired. Now a few hours later tho I'm exhausted/tired feeling and that happened last time as well.

Tomorrow morning il step on the scale, do a waistline check and fasted glucose levels.
 
I always have lower back issues from deadlift and deadlift variations. It seems like I can train it for about 2 months before **** starts going wrong, it happens a few times a year so I'm taking this as a sign that I need some time off from deadlifting. Will replace it with laying ham curls and a squat variation for the time being. Can't risk it.

Tomorrow makes 1 week so I will also give my current assessment although there's not much to say, I know it's amplifying the results of the diet and I have a good feeling it has positive effects on bg levels.

@cheftepesh1 is there anything you know about the ingredients that might make taking a higher dose a bad idea?

I'm thinking about picking up a second bottle and dosing morning, pre workout meal, post workout meal and before bed. My reasoning is I wanna see if it leads to more positive effects on insulin sensitivity and some other things, if that's ok thin I would continue the recommended dose till week 4 and then double dose for a extra 2 weeks.

Now if week 3 or 4 roll around and my numbers are already where I want them then I'd probably can the idea.

Any thoughts?

Cool beans, ok then, end of week 2 or 3 il make a decision on that based off the numbers. I actually was thinking about this from day one just based off the potential benefits of the ingredients
 
So dosing before working out, then back at home feeling tired has it been putting you to sleep or nah, just tired feeling?

Curious to hear more about your tests on it. I know this would not work for me but wondering if the wife would do well with this. She has horrible sleep, me I’m out almost as soon as head hits pillow.

Just tired, but keep in mind that I could take a nap any time of day, falling asleep is not a problem for me, but staying asleep is my big problem.

No, the neuro melatonin, I took .5ml pre workout today and another workout, just trying something out because melatonin has other benifits outside of sleep.

As far as thermoamp goes, nothing really to report, it's only been 6 days, weight is down a few lbs, "I think 2lbs" il weigh in tomorrow. And I believe it's helping lower bg, kinda like a glucose disposal agent would do. I think that's the bibia in there

Today is a special day for me, it was the first full day I quit drinking, today makes 3 years.

So I'm gonna celebrate by punishing myself all day lol.

Just finished a 45min boxing session, heading home to eat and set my day up. I have 4 ppl meeting up this evening at the gym for sparing sessions and after that I'm gonna do abs and core stuff. I hate training ABS but I need to make a point of doing them especially leading up to this box and match so I'll start with those today 😓.

Anyways, il be home shortly and il do my 1 week review
 
Breakfast is served, got a nice omlette with 3 whole eggs, 3 whites, lots of veggies and some cheddar. 1 cup white rice and a coffee with firlife milk instead of half and half. Plus my vitamins. I took the thermoamp pre-work today and washed it down with 10gm of eaa, half of it before the workout half of it during the workout. Invalid Link Removed
 
1 week recap, lost a few lbs, today's morning weight was 197.9 and my waist looks improved. To be fair it's a flattering photo, good shadows lol. But it's tighter then last week and down about 1/8 in .

Other then some back pain I have had pretty good workouts all week and I want to make note that my best workout this week was when dosing 1/2ml Neuro Melatonin about 30-40min pre workout! It could be coincidence but we will see if that continues. I know it's a bit odd taking a product intended for sleep pre workout but I'm a odd duck. Maybe because I'm so high strung that the relaxing effects are benificial to me in that situation. Tonight I'm going to try a full 1ml dose before bed.

Fasted glucose this morning was 89 for anyone who's interested in that.

So for now I'm just sticking to the plan, I would love to see Thermo amp in combination with some clen but that's not going to allow for a fair product review lol. I will however combine the 2 about 2-3 weeks out from my June showing so after this log I may keep this thread going with the same or higher dose of Thermo amp for another 2-3 weeks and then add some other stuff. I know that's irrelevant to this log but I do feel that you need to give a product more then a month to fairly judge it, there's only so much that can change in a month.

So far I have no issues with either product and I'm looking forward to the following week!
 
My goal for this week is to loose 3 more lbs, also for anyone that has problems dieting, I find setting weekly goals much easier to accomplish then monthly or long term goals,

Have a long term goal, 20lbs in 10 weeks
Break that down to a weekly target,
Then make daily checklists to reach your weekly goals. You will find it a bit tedious at first but you will quickly see how beneficial it is.

It might not sound like a big deal screwing up your meal once every couple days, but if that turns into screwing up three meals a week, that's 12 screw ups a month and 30 screw ups over the course of your 10 week plan.

So did the diet not work? Or did you just screw up 30 times....

Also damage control, if you know your gonna go out and splurge then make alterations to your other meals that day, balance it out.

Yeah if you absolutely know you’re going out for an anniversary dinner etc, you better be significantly intermittent fasting that day or next, and whatever else you eat in the window should essentially be lean protein. And be mindful what you really need to consume to enjoy the moment. Have one piece of pie at thanksgiving for desert, not one of everything

John Meadows was big on doing it that way so people can have their holidays & stuff with family. You can do that AND stay on track - it just takes some extra effort on your end.

That's pretty much it, if I'm going out for a big dinner I will either skip 1 meal that day, or replace 2 meals with a low calorie shake. I try to make sure my cheat meal is protein heavy. If I decide on also getting a dessert then the next day I skip breakfast , lift fasted and then go back to normal. My daily macros might get screwed up but by the end of the week it's balanced and the damage is minimal.

Thanks, as bad of a drunk as I was, it was never a your a alcohol moment or anything. It was more me realizing that I'm turning into a loser and wasting the last years of my "youth" I new I had to snap out of it to accomplish my goals and time was running short

if you had not had this AH-HA moment it could have progressed into something much worse, so CONGRATS again.

my dumbass had many AH-HA moments but i was too dumb to pay them heed, i had to be hard headed and learn the hard way.
 
Well, I got absolutely worked in the ring today lol. I think I blocked more punches with my forehead than anyone else tho......

I'm finding that my bad ankle doesn't allow me to change directions very good and that's causing me to leave myself wide open when someone cuts off my angles. If I don't figure that out then I'm gonna end up having to just stand toe to toe and slug it out when my match comes.

Left ankle/heel is double the size of my right
One right now. But I'm going back in the morning to have someone work on footwork with me.

Good thing I can take a punch or 2, or 47 lol

Back to the drawing board, just finishing up a full body workout, I'm slugging some eaa's and dextrose and heading to the box gym to work on some footwork stuff. Probably finish that off with some high rep leg and shoulders conditioning type stuff.

I was definitely a alcoholic, just a super functional one. What I'm getting at is more that I didn't quit for that reason, my health wasn't the main concern, growing up was more important, being a better parent, being more responsible. It just so happen I always revert back to some kind of sport of weightlifting

Anytime you can separate yourself from addiction is a great things. Respect for 3 years.

Anyway, it’s awesome you’ve been sober 3 years. I was a functioning alcoholic 28 years ago and had I always lied to myself because I was in great shape and did almost anything I wanted, but that was the big lie. But congratulations on putting priorities in order. You always seem to be trying to help others on this forum while having a busy life, and that speaks to your good character. I do know God rewards those that helps others.
There’s some great information in this log, diet, training, and personal. Hope your nagging injuries don’t slow you down, but it’s the nature of the beast. Keep killing it man.👍
 
I don't know why but I spent all morning working out lol. Probably not productive but I was just trying to stay busy.

Did my full body type workout this morning, hit 295x5 on bench, 405x3 box squat, there's a chest supported row machine I maxed out the stack for 6 last week and got 8 this week. Couple other higher rep exercises

20min break and a large coffee and I went off to do some footwork stuff and hit the bag, kinda half assed. Took another 20 min and then grabbed a pair of 30, 15 and 5lb dumbbells and rotated through them with side lateral raises front lateral raises and then throwing straight punches uppercuts and hooks. Not many Straight punches were thrown with the 30s LOL, just too heavy, especially on the second and third time around.

Push ups, pull ups and body weight squats in my boxing stance.

It was like 3 hours but not straight through. Lots of talking in between. Me and the boxing traininer "who was actually my traininer last time I had a real match 17 years ago !" But we were discussing strategies for working around this bad foot.

We're going to start working on conditioning more. Since I can't really run Were going to be using a combination of rowing machines, spin bikes, 30+ rep exercises and doing things like this in a circuit training fashion very short rest.

So if that goes into play in the next few days I'll probably end up losing a lot more weight than I planned.

Which really sucks cuz I'm at the body weight and shape I enjoy being right
now

Man looks like this cut is treating you right. You still pushing some good weight, even though you’re on a cut.
I know how you feel man, sometimes you get in that zone in the gym and just don’t want to stop. The way I see it, if you’ve been in this game long enough you know how to listen to your body and adjust accordingly.

My strength is usually good till I get under 190lbs and then it starts going south.

I do feel like I put a little bit of new muscle on in the past few months and that might be helping as I've been consistently hitting a PR on something every week.

Honestly I'm hoping it's damn near impossible to get to 178lbs because that let's me know I've put on enough muscle to outgrow that weight class.

Once I get a few fights out my system and I can let the scale numbers start going up I plan on going up to 215-220 and really trying to see how far I can push for size without getting fat. I haven't actually tried a bulk in about 2 years, I just have been fluxing back and forth and not letting myself get too far past 200 lb
 
In the bigger scheme of things I'm only down like a total of 8 lb, 3 in the past week tho. Two to three weeks from now when I'm down under 190 we'll see if these numbers are the same, if they do stay the same or continue to go up I will be extremely happy!

Yeah man, that’s the constant battle between bulking and real cuts (notice I said real cuts). But once you cut so far down you just can’t maintain your best strength numbers. And that’s where the head game battle begins, because you love that strength, but being cut looks so much better. Good thing is once you’ve been there you know what you can do on either end.

Yep, right now is when I have that balance of looking decent, kinda pumped up and strength is great, around 190 is kinda the weird zone where my strength is down and I look deflated, then I get under 183ish and the veins start popping and I look great but I'm weak all the time. It's weird, I've took pictures and kept a lot of notes and it's always similar results. I do notice that on each cut I look better 1-2 lb heavier and when I go back around 200+ I look a little less fat then the previous time, so I know I'm making progress.

But all my conflicting goals definitely limit the progress.

You can't be big, strong, fast, have great endurance and boxing or doing a sport with a weight cap. They all go against each other.
 
So today I had about 150 calories intra workout, a 470 calorie shake post workout, 740 cal grilled chicken wrap, lots of raw peppers and cucumbers with hummus and Greek yogurt and a couple pretzel sticks. Going out for a early lunch, gonna keep it protein heavy but I'm not gonna really worry about the calories, just going to aim for 80gm protein and count it as 2 meals.

Then later tonight I'm gonna try using a fat free razberry Greek yogurt and a mint chip protein bar to trick myself into thinking I had dessert lol

No real reason for saying this other then I just realized I was off meal plan today and hadn't wrote anything down so I wanted to figure it out real quick and make note of it

I started the thread on March 1st, and the thermoamp on March 4th.

Ya I talk a lot lol. And all of my threads always get a lot of general discussion on top of the logging. I kinda like it that way tho. I feel like it keeps everyone involved and all the little side stuff keeps people interested and hanging around.
 
I also have really good luck with who follows my logs, I don't get too many trolls or douchebags. Typically it's always good ppl

nah, man i was talking about how much progress you have made-8lbs and 3 in the last week puts you ahead of schedule-eh?

Oh, ya lol. A couple lbs dropped right off after my initial diet changes, then I added Thermo amp and a slight reduction and things are rolling right along nicely

Are you on any gear? (just curious) Or just the Thermoamp and Neuro Melatonin? I love Thermoamp - it seems to almost "clean" me out if that makes any sense. I seem to go to the bathroom more and expel more than I am eating- gross to talk about but not sure if it's the Forslean or Mitoburn. It definately warms me up and makes me sweat more when working out and doing cardio.
