Vaporized. 305x4 was 5lbs progress. I felt like 315x4 was going to be there at a high RPE, and as I’m getting to the end of this blast I was fine pushing that. But it stuck midway up on the final rep - even threw my hips up & put every ounce of energy into pressing it out, but in the end I was bested. Straining so hard left me blasted.

Pretty disappointing, but definitely put the axe on competing in March. Just going to spend the last few weeks trying to grow into ~250lbs as a better foundation for next blast.
Bet you could get it next week.

@Hyde remind me, do you blast and cruise? If so, when you're cruising what type of weights would you use. So for example on the above bench where you were working on 305s or aiming even for 315, do you drop down to a maintenance bench press number? And if so, 70-75% of that?

Bet you could get it next week.

It’s extremely likely - I could have had this if I hadn’t done 305x4 prior, but then I wouldn’t have had the same density of heavy volume.

Next week is my favorite - 3’s week! 320x3 is the plan.

Yes I blast & cruise. It’s all rather new to me; only been on since October of 2020. In my limited experience, what I’m doing with bodyweight and diet has had a very large impact in strength, as well as what drugs I’m coming off of. Dropping off Trendione, Dienelone, orals, those temporary strength gains aren’t going to be very maintainable off them - they are drivers & plateau breakers, for reaching temporary heights.

I think last summer I was hitting 285x4 for very hard work. So you can see we’re dealing with around 10% fluctuations in numbers, maybe more on isolation stuff. The general training should always be just as hard off or on, effort-wise, unless the goal of the phase is to take a break after a competition for repair purposes.

From the moment I got on the warmup bike, I could tell my nervous system was dialed up to a 10. Totally on & ready to destroy. Had to really hold myself back from doing additional heavier sets on both lifts; next week is 3’s week so I’m saving the fury for that.

In lieu of adding an oral these last few weeks, this week I did a singular big 450mg shot of EQ on Sunday, added 50mg Proviron daily, added a second 15mg shot of Trest Ace on Thursday morning, and bumped Deca from 100 to 250mg per week.

-Test E @480mg over Sun/Tues/Thurs
-Mast E @300mg over Sun/Thurs
-Nand D @250mg Tues
-Trest Ace @30mg over Sun/Thurs
-10mg Dbol Wednesday morn
-25mg Adrol Thursday night
-50mg Mesterolone split morn/night
-one 450mg shot of EQ last Sunday

Not counting Proviron, it works out to ~1.2g/wk. So very similar mg as if I had added 40mg of Var or the like per day instead, but less stress on lipids & gut health. I could REALLY feel that extra shot of Trest yesterday! Feeling pretty great overall.

Very happy with the Frontsquat. Strength to hold my position upright as well as true leg drive continues to build.

Also finally figured out how to get good tension out of the extensions done seated on the Reverse Hyper table: you have to lean back so your abs are engaged and your body at a 45* angle. This feels much more like a plate-loaded machine then, and the abs get a little static hold as well.

I thought I might be a bit taller. I’m only 6 or so pounds heavier, but you’re thicker.

Yeah trying to hit 255 before the end of this blast. Was only 250.6 today before a big movement. There’s a lot of fluctuation based on how often I need to dose the AI (which lowered since adding Proviron substantially), whether I’m on a 4-day break from Mk677 (starting back up today), previous days sodium intake.

In general, trying to push weight, cals, size atm. Bodyfat is part of that process of course. If there’s a safest time in my life to ever be 280lbs, it’s now in my early 30s. I have the best odds of reaching some performance goals if I get bigger.

It’s a terrible cycle; I started lean (230’s), spent 15 years trying to get as big as I could (a fat 330), now I’ve spent 2 years trying to get small again.

Yeah the farther you go into the woods bodyfat-wise, the further you have to march to get back out. I think that’s the key - never getting fatter than you can personally rationalize. Because the worse insulin sensitivity gets, the more you accrue more fat as weight is gained - % of quality of new gains continually drops. So there has to be some “moderation”.

Oh man, I'm so getting some of those for my 1 year old!

He just got them for his first birthday!

Starting them young..

Yeah it’s probably fated for him…when he was just an infant sleeping in his carrier he was getting carried into gyms with music blasting & barbells clanging away and he would never cry or fuss. Plus he sees me lift in our home garage gym, and we would bring him outside when it was warmer while my wife would train strongman events with people in our street. Now, he loves to run around the gym when we take him.

Today was a great day!

Thank you sir! TLDR, best lifts lately have been 320x3 bench & this 460x3 SSB & 505x3 conventional.

Just made a decision Wednesday to do 20mg Dbol for these last 16 days while I finish this training cycle, & dropping the odd shot of 15mg Trest. Did a singular 450mg shot of Eq the other week to help pad this last month as well, & bumped deca from 100 to 250/wk for same reason.

Why have I never gone the extra distance and taken plate raises to overhead?!?! I feel dumb lol

All the lat pulldown stations were busy and when I asked if he was just getting starting or nearly through he welcomed me to work in.

It will be nice if he can get back into a healthy habit! Sundays are nice for me right now mentally because I have basically as much time as I want and nothing imperative to accomplish. It’s my time to just “go to the gym”.

It’s an inferior front delt exercise because you will use less load overall, but that makes it easier on the shoulders and it’s the only practical lift I know of that directly smashes the lower traps. The burn/pump will be very unique!

Big Jim Williams used to do 10x10 with the hundo plate. So I have some work to do I I want to bench in the 600s raw like him

Deload went well. Conditioning is really dropping with Dbol on board but just hanging on through next week. Tried dips again & I can do them fine despite my left elbow issue - this is big because there is so much I cannot do, so it’s great to have another pressing vector to accumulate useful volume. I will try to ramp these up in coming weeks.I

Heavy deads/ squats in the same session, that is brutal

Definitely takes some adjustment but there are big positives: you always have to do it that way at a meet, so you don’t get false ideas about your deadlift strength, and it gives you 6 days to recover before having to do it again - it consolidates the greatest stressors to a single day/wk.

Shoveled snow for over 2 hours - got about a foot here. So I guess Dbol isn’t killing my conditioning that badly

Got some good Meadows Rows & curls in flinging shovels of snow!

I imagine you shovel snow like me. My neighbors are sissies about it. I turn it into a full workout. Usually wind up hitting most of the block too.

Haha yeah I did help the neighbor lady finish her stuff up as well! Gotta get the stuff from the snow plow before it freezes overnight! Otherwise you get blocked into the driveway by a glacier wall.

Left elbow was in excruciating pain from holding the bar on squat; it’s never bothered it like that on any other deload week (also haven’t gotten into loads as high as 405 on a deload). This was defeating & exhausting; I hope next week’s testing feels better. Sucks doing everything with one arm at home now after I flare it up like that. It hurts any time I move it and isn’t much use.

Rehab the hell out of that elbow man

I don’t really understand what the cause is. For a long time (a year?) I have had to take a pretty wide grip on OHP or incline to avoid pain at the bottom of the lift. Not that big of a deal because they weren’t mission critical and still doable. But somehow that seems to have gotten worse, and now I can’t even grip a barbell for overhead or any incline at a practical width (maybe total snatch grip). And suddenly I can’t curl my arm all the way up, or touch my right side clavicle, face, head, delts without pain. It generally radiates from my elbow in a very total and vague way. It hurts at the very bottom on my comp bench, but if I slip my grip out a finger I seem to able to avoid it.

I am wondering if there’s actually some issue with the tricep tendon on the back of my elbow.

I can lower inflammation fine if necessary, but there is a fundamental structural issue that needs addressed & I have no idea how to diagnose it.

Is it from DB floor press a couple weeks back?

No that was just an example of how when I get the elbow too far down too close into my body it pinches or pulls something that causes terrible shooting pain. Trying to pop the db back for the initial press triggered it hard.

That back elbow tricep tendon is the one taking the brunt of bench and pressing. Got any cissus? I know I sound like a broken record but megadosing that for 5 days SERIOUSLY helps knock down inflammation (if that is the issue) then can reassess from there.

I don’t. I am going to load up a big shot of glutathione tonight; haven’t done any in a while but that’s great for calming things down some.
