Hyde’s Strength Odyssey

I know the ostarine has some research showing good for tendinous healing but isnt there some concern about persistent suppression? I absolutely you know what youre doing so im just interested in hearing your logic if you dont mind explaining so I can learn something?

You are definitely correct. I am not 100% on using it as it isn’t ideal for the best recovery of my natural production, but anecdotally I did use 15mg in a PCT for the first month years back and from a feel perspective everything recovered fine. I may wait a week to start it if I do.

The biggest human doses I saw to prevent muscle wasting were at 3mg/day, and I only have 5mg caps (original OL stuff). Upon reflection, I would probably be better off taking a cap eod, since the half-life is 24 hours I’d more or less consistently be on 2.5mg then - which would be less impacting to the HPTA but still offer a significant benefit to muscle maintenance over nothing while I can’t train upper body at all.

I miss the gym. Left work at 7:30 again last night and gym closes at 9. Didn’t have time or energy after a 12 hour day to go home and go back, & it was -22* windchill.

Today I will be leaving same time after another 12, but the windchill this morning and at 7 is -50* and the gym is only open 9-7 today due to it.

Full fast after midnight tonight til after surgery tomorrow afternoon, then recovering Friday. Hopefully I can go this weekend.

Good luck tomorrow brotha. Hope he gets in there and finds things better than what his initial thoughts were, and definitely not worse. Without the mri (and even with one sometimes) theres no telling until he gets in. And stay warm ...the polar vortex in the Midwest is insane.

I would wish you a speedy recovery, but I already know you are going to have one. Sending those positive vibes your way too!

Hope you wake up to hearing it was very successful and a full recovery is expected!!!!

Surgery started early, took probably 45 min, easiest smoothest procedure of my life. Put some goodies in the iv, some painless shots in the armpit to block the nerves in my arm, and some funny gas in the operating room. Took 3 pulls on the nitrous and I was out like a light. Woke up in recovery in no pain.

Still no pain and nerve block still complete. Can’t wiggle my fingers even.

Surgeon confirmed it was a full distal detachment so we made the right call to go in. Said my bicep was actually really healthy & in great shape so once it finally heals I’ll be set.

Thank you all for your support and well wishes!

Good deal Man... Youre a warrior bro a few scars and stripes are what give us character. Best wishes on your speedy recovery bro

Look! They put on elbow sleves, meaning you should do heavy presses tomorrow! :)

Fark....I missed a ton...wishes for a speedy recovery, glad the surgery went well!!!

Glad to see you around home slice!

Nerve block wore off this morning; that was a pretty awful experience. Probably 7-8/10 on the pain scale for about a solid hour til extra narcotics could kick in. I got through it.

Today is day 5 of PCT. Bumped MK677 to 20mg last night. Also peptides came in yesterday and gave the fiancé a crash course in reconstitution since I couldn’t mix them myself - shot a full 5mg vial of TB500 in my left delt.

Been getting my blueberries and Vit D and green tea (all stem cell enhancers) in faithfully as well as my collagen peptides.
This race horse is gonna get back to the track!!!

Will probably never use Lax but lets see if i change my mind. Ill follow along.

You’re gonna come back stronger than ever man! Interested to see how that td laxo treats ya. Oral was actually kinda nice to me.

Good to hear that the muscle itself is in good shape. Sounds like you are all set for a full recovery!

Should be interesting to see what it looks like next Monday when the cast comes off.

Got a sponge bath from the wifey this morning to go back to work; feels good to be cleaned up. Tapering off pain meds today. Check this bruising we found this morning:

Weighing over 241 but the half-cast seems heavy and I started 20mg MK Thursday. Looking bloated and soft but feeling alright, just tired.

That's a really nice shade of Burple you got there.

Looking way gnarlier now, and getting some yellow bruising coming up the front onto the delt. Should be interesting when the cast comes off Monday.

Took yesterday off work to rest. Overdid it Monday. Feeling way better today & back to work. Also, dropped pain meds after Monday.

Tonight, I am finally getting back to the gym. It has been 10 days since I have lifted anything, the longest I’ve ever gone in the near decade I’ve been lifting.

Good luck, what are you planning to do? Some leg work? I was able to do some top 2/3 end leg press when I was in my immobilizer from my shoulder surgery. Might be an option.

02/06/19 - Day 8 of PCT
Bodyweight 235

SSB Squat
62,112,162x5
212 3x5, 1x10 150-180 sec rests

Leg Ext
70x30

Leg Curl

Good **** mate.

Training tomorrow morning; I already know it’s going to be torture so I won’t even go into it right now.

I’m really proud of my back, and I’m going to miss it when it atrophies, but...I’ll BE BACK

Also, seem to be transitioning from what started as a lovely shade of mauve into some truly dark-ass purple:

Do a ton of single arm back work. I've seen some research that suggests that working one side can limit atrophy on the other side during injury recovery.

Yup, and facilitate healing on the injured side also. Seen it in ACL repair or ankle injury literature iirc. Even one of those lame upper extremity stationary bikes people use for rotator cuff repair recovery could be helpful.

ACL repair is the context I saw it in. We probably read the same paper lol.

Thank you both for suggesting this. I’ve heard this theory before but wasn’t sure if there was any weight to it. If it did work for ACLs there’s at least a real chance of working for another body part - I will give it a go. If nothing else I become a pro arm wrestler!

02/09/19 - Day 11 of PCT
Bodyweight <230

Stationary Lunges
2x10

Beltsquat
+95 5x20

Seated Calves
45 2x15

Walking Lunges
5x10 split up through session

Lying Leg Lift/McGill Curl-up Hybrid
2x15

All the Lunges were bodyweight and the beltsquat super light - legs were still shaky jello after and I was queezy for the last 2 sets of 20 on beltsquat. 170 reps of depth. Hope I can walk in 3 days. Weighed 232 post training after a half gallon of fluid intraworkout and even with eating some cheat pizza last night, so Operation Be Little AF is well under way.

This after a 2k cal cheat dinner last night out with the missus, at that. Can’t even taste any food with this cold I have now, but it was so great to spend some QT with her as hard as she’s been working trying to take care of me and her family lately since the fire.

Going to add 5mg Ostarine daily. I am already seeing upper body atrophy on the left side. Not ideal for PCT but desperate times...

02/11/19 - Day 13 of PCT, Rehab Day 1

Xrays this morning confirmed the anchors in my forearm are still in place so I am cleared to begin therapy, which I am going to be doing solo at home. Had a brace molded up & they showed me the movement protocol I’ll be executing ~5x a day for now, so I can take this off frequently at least and shower again:
