Human growth support

According to the study that everyone that has been interested in the subject knows, a combination of L-arginine-2-pyrrolidone-5-carboxylate and L-Lysine taken together at 1200mg of each produced a significant HGH response.

There are a lot of available L-Arginine and Lysine caps for sale, but can anyone recommend one that contains the same molecular structure included in the study?

I don't know of any that have that matrix. Most products go with the base form or slightly modified. You can still achieve a GH response with those though.

Well, studies have shown that unless used in that specific form, Lysine and Arginine can actually complete with each other and negate the desired effect.

Yes, that has been my assumption (based on some long-ago reading). I understood Arginine and Lysine were to be used separately.

Can you post all of these "studies" or at least links?

Because lysine uses the same intracellular transporter system as arginine, competition of transport can be hypothesized. In human umbilical endothelial cells, lysine as well as leucine and phenylalanine inhibited intracellular arginine transport, whereas cysteine and alanine had no effect (72). In vivo studies in a rat model of early diabetes also showed inhibition of glomerular arginine uptake by lysine (73). However, excess dietary lysine in young pigs reduced growth via amino acid imbalance rather than antagonism, and plasma and tissue amino acid levels including arginine were elevated (74).

You should start sending in those studies to companies, see what kind of response you can get. I know on Controlled Labs forum (on their website) you can post new products you'd like to see with ingredients. They listen, too. In fact, most of their products have been developed based on consumer demands. Check it out.

NuSoma, made by Olympian Labs, uses L-Arginine Pyroglutamate. I know that the Pyroglutamate can cross the blood-brain barrier, but I don't know if it takes the Arginine with it, or if it is broken down first...

Hi Guys,
Check this out, it is from the original study, shows how arginine, lysine, or the combo affects GH at different times after ingestion:
