How To Get Great TRT Results? How Come Some People Look Better Than Younger?

Thanks, everyone.

I am in China now. I will keep getting bloodwork done for thyroid, HGH, and T.

I would not mind TRT and HGH, now that I am over 40 years old.

I just worry about side effects, such as the irritability, hyper-aggression, and hypomania I get, especially with (legal) oaxndrolone of the past.

Ironically, I put those things into the "pros" column for anavar. the cons for me are heightened anxiety after prolonged or higher doses. unfortunately for me, a higher dose is everyone elses "moderate" dose. my sweet spot is basically only 12.5mg or a 25mg tab on lifting days only.

Ppl have unrealistic expectations of TRT. TRT is not a cycle and only supposed to keep your Test in the upper range of normal.

So if you didn’t have BB results in your late teens/early 20’s, chances are that you won’t get it in your 40’s either on TRT.
There are 2 problems:

1 - there are too many guys running 500mgs of test and telling people they are on "TRT." So when they start TRT they are running actual TRT and not a cycle like these people who claim they're on TRT.

2 - there just isn't any substitute for good diet and training. I know guys in their 50s and 60s who have very low testosterone levels but they train hard, eat right, and look better than 90% of the guys on TRT. Most of them have tried TRT but didn't like how they felt on it and felt better off of it with low test than on it.

Just to add to what has already been said, I think guys that get on TRT have the idea that they will get jacked just from the test. These are the same guys that think if you’re on gear you’ll get jacked without having to workout and diet correctly. They have no clue either way. I’m 52 and have been on TRT for 12 years. It definitely helps me BUT I have to put in the time at the gym and eat right. It’s not a magic potion.

Fwiw I feel it is a little tough because the messaging and stuff out there probably gives people the wrong idea, especially because half the time I see random people post on here they seem to equate TRT with cycles (fully agreeing with you here).

It is hard to equate because we don't tend to get lots of actual studies on this stuff so we tend to have to go by "feel" of what people say, but the last time I'd seen a good breakdown on things it seemed as long as still within standard physiological levels that increases in testosterone levels led to greater "baselines" of muscle mass, yet didn't have much effect on "rate" of gains. So people who start a regiment may see initial "bump" in muscle mass, but once that has become the new "baseline" rate of change won't likely be massively improved (again if in more normal physiological ranges not supraphysiological levels).

Again though there are so many other things that can effect rate of gains it makes trying to guess all this stuff "messy".
Yes, most of the unrealistic expectations comes from social media influencers looking “jacked&jucy” on “TRT only” but in reality they are on full blown cycles. It’s a big difference on TRT and a cycle, especially in results but the effort is still what counts the most. Most ppl is not willing to put in the effort/work and hoping for a shortcut.

1. I always just wanted to look like this guy, at his age:

2. Still, I would be curious to see what he looked like in his teens and 20's.

If he looked like he does in the video, had the energy levels, and was just getting back to where he had been, that is one thing.

3. Getting better results than others is something else. We have all agreed that in the thread.

1. That guy is nothing impressive and very doable, even without TRT.

2. Most likely the same, it doesn’t look like he do anything extreme, just an overall healthy/active lifestyle.

3. Hard work is the key to results.

I'm really confused. The guy in the video just looks like a normal guy who eats healthy and maybe goes jogging You don't need anything to look like that at any age. You just need to eat healthy and exercise occasionally

yeah way too small, IMO. they should have asked him DYEL, BRO?

all my boomer friends are carrying way more lean mass. they might not have abs, but they lift and eat like $hit.

Smaller than I'd like to be but a lot of people at that age would probably be very happy that size, My opinion is he looks like a fit older man with good shape to his biceps and fairy low body fat. Outside of those two factors I don't see anything that stands out and that's not meant to be negative at all he looks fantastic. I wish my father looked like that at 72, But I do know people in their '70s who do look like that and they don't take testosterone or anything for that matter. Someone I very much look up to is my buddy's father and he runs the boxing gym, that don't get me wrong The guy's got great genetics and so does his entire family they're all fit regardless of age. But it's 78 years old and no TRT no nothing, Kent looks just like the guy from the video, he's probably leaner and more vascular and probably 160lbs tops. A lean physique gives the illusion of a lot more muscle size.

I'll give you a good example My arms are usually around 17 in when I'm about 210 lb, Right now off cycle they're only 16 at 200 lb. When I cut down to 180 they were 15 in But when I flexed in pictures they look just as big if not bigger.

I'm just kind of rambling but a point I'm trying to make is the majority of people just need to get lean. You don't even need a six pack as long as you can see some abs, maybe a 4 pack, then you're going to have definition everywhere else. At least for the most part. And if you don't wanna get lean then I can also tell you I've seen lots of older men around 20% body fat with massive arms and overall they also look great You don't need abs to be in great shape but they help with the visual.

It's when you're stuck in that skinny fat phase where you're 20 plus percent body fat and don't carry a lot of muscle that things don't look very good

agreed on all accounts. what this video doesn't tell us is the guys normal lifestyle and history pre TRT. he doesn't strike me as a guy who spent his entire life as a gym rat...

dude my numbers are almost identical but I think you hold probably about 8-10+ more lbs than me at similar BF. this is the first time I've gone on a decent cut where my arms are still pushing my sleeves. haven't measured in quite some time though mostly because I don't need to get a small number in my head anymore. I'm not going to chase 20s but I always judge it by my shirt now days. If my arms fill out my sleeves and my gut/love handles aren't noticeable through the shirt then I feel like I have the taper I'm looking for, IMO.

I always tell people first rule is that the chest should stick out further than the gut, lol.

^ chest further than gut,….classic oldschool
The reality is nothing else matters. Build some shoulders, fill out your sleeves, and if your chest is bigger than your gut then your wife will think you're built like Thor. Good enough for her is always a win-

oh yeah, don't neglect legs, lol

reminds me of when My dad said he had a "dick-do". I was like WTF is that. He exclaimed "My stomach sticks out farther than my dick do!"
