1.5xLBM vs 1xLBM made an incredilbe difference for me, of course the extra .5 per LB replaced carbs. When I'm bulking I go to 2xLBM, if I did that with Carbs I would be at 300lbs with no additional LBM
Yeah but in that line of thinking a post workout shake would be part of a steady intake of protein. I don't believe anyone is suggesting post workout protein and nothing through out the day.
I agree that it could be used as a part of that, and that no one is suggesting that post workout is the only protein source. However, he is seeking a special amount of protein specifically for post workout. Truth is, there is none. Taking some massive amount of whey protein is going to cause a spike in blood nitrogen levels, which isn't going to do anything of value to your body. What I meant by my post is that you should try to take in about the same amount of protein at eat meal, to maintain a positive nitrogen balance. Anything more than that is just going to piss off your kidneys.
I have lately been putting 2 scoops of unflavored whey into Orange Gatorade for postworkout. The total protein of both scoops is like 44 grams of protein.
