slanting and I mean real good angle helps if ur hitting outer/lower...some say, though I feel it in my inner/mid a hell a lot more. when I'm upright I feel it totally in my outer/upper. and when I slant forward and go behind the head, its all upper and even some shoulder. so depends on what ur target is. best way for me to target upper/outter lats only is to try and pull the bar apart on the decent. sort of like I'm trying to bend it like a bow.
