How many calories per day do you eat?

I shoot for 2500-2600 when I bulk. I'm pretty sedentary outside of the gym.

Cutting REALLY sucks. Lol. ~1700 with light cardio. Wish I had an active job, even just being on my feet.
 
Im surprised how little you guys eat. The low cals is why most of you are in the 170lb range.
NOt trying to be mean just pointing out the obvious.
It took me a long time to learn that 1. food is one of the most anabolic thing there is available to you and 2. you HAVE to eat to get bigger.
If you guys in the under 200lb club want to get bigger youll need to learn how to properly eat.
You cant eat for a 170lbs guy. Eat for a 200lb guy. IF you get chubby increase cardio and cut down carbs.

4k cal is my limit. Above that just feels unhealthy. Normally I'm at least 3k a day and I'm not trying to go on the force feed route if I can't keep it up for a long haul.

170lbs at what height? Bodyfat %?
 
Youre sounding as if 170 is a bad thing without considering the stats person to person...

Its not bad if your happy with where you are at.

I spent a decade growing from 135 to 235lbs. I remember being 165 and I wouldnt be happy there.
After my cardiac arrest in 2011 I lost almost 80lbs in the hospital after not eating for 3 weeks in ICU.
It took me a full 6 months to just get back up to 210 from 165ish. Of course I had already been 235 so I have muscle memory.
One of my more successful bulks. 0 steroids or supplements.

Im hoping my current recovery plan works as well.

The pictures from that bulk are pretty dramatic.

It is all personal preference really. No idea where he was going with all that, but some guys need to stay in weight class. So, let him have his on opinion on his body and pay it no mind what you weigh or look like, as it is your choice. My set goal is 180lbs at 8%bf.. Not huge at all but will look big on my frame, people already say I look huge and I'm >160, still strong as eff.

Hehe I knw where he's goin w/ it and it's all fun on my end. Cnt be too sensitive 'round here. Besides my weight never really bothered me. 180 @ 8% would be awesome though. I'd definitely be happy with those stats.

I can see where he is going, just how he phrases things. True enough, taking it nice and slow is the best route. It is a good weight to be around and during maintenance.

I agree with Brundel. I can't front there's a few guys on here who stay saying I'm on this and that and weight fluctuates 170-180 but continue to look the same. Need to eat more for sure when your at the same level every time you cut n bulk.

For those who are sub 10% than obviously this doesn't imply to you

Did you stop using steroids completely? I know before your cardiac arrest you would touch on what you were using. You're on TRT right?

The whole thing is to make the point. Your likely here because you want to get bigger right? To learn more about diet and supps and peds in order to grow or compete at a higher level. Well....none of that stuff matters unless you eat more.
Again, if your happy at 17- or wherever you are dont change it. Plenty of people are in the 170lb range and live normal lives and are totally happy.
More power to you.
BUt.....if you want to grow.....if you want to get bigger..you have to eat. Thats the whole point.

Yah I cant touch anything now. Well I could but I wont. Its pretty much 100% that the steroids played a huge part in my cardiac arrest.
Especially since after I stopped them my heart went back to normal.
Im on Trt yes. 50mg twice a week currently.

Also I do realize I can be abrasive sometimes. Its not meant to hurt you guys. Its my way of...nailing the point and driving you forward.
You dont have to listen to me :)

Ain't even mad. I started at 148lbs, March 2012. Worked up to 185lbs, today, eating like I do. 3 cutting phases, on my 4th bulk phase right now.
 
At 5'6 and 160lbs with 9% bf I am hugely satisfied vs when I was 190 @ 14%

Ain't even mad. I started at 148lbs, March 2012. Worked up to 185lbs, today, eating like I do. 3 cutting phases, on my 4th bulk phase right now.

Thats a pretty successful bulk. Almost 40lbs is huge.
It took a long time for me to break the 200lb barrier.
What are your cals like at 185 on a bulk?

Like I said, 2500-2700 on a bulk. I'm pretty sedentary outside the gym.

Just wanted to prove a point. People don't always have to eat ~4k cals a day to grow. Activity factor is a huge factor in the equation.
 
3,250 calories right now.
 
Still reversing and cutting cardio. Starting this week, 2200/2100/2000 on high/medium/low carb days. Increasing cals and decreasing cardio and losing weight. Not my goal right now.

How low did you get in your cut and how quick have you raised kcals

I was at 2,000 cals each day for the cut. Refeeding once every 10 days. When I am up to full speed, my cals would look something like this 3000/2750/2500 high/medium/low days. Right now, as I increase cals, I am doing so on both high and moderate days. I haven't been increasing too much, 100 cals a week, because I am cutting cardio down a lot and would rather do that than add cals.
 
Bulk- 3500. 200p/400c/110f

Cut- 2500. 220p/180c/80f

I work industrial construction as a laborer so my activity level is stupid high. Need the carbs and cals
 
2000- non training, low carbs...
2400- training days via increased carbs
Backloading approach

Lol 5'5" and if my weight doesn't pick up this week, I'll be cracking 3000 kcals which astounds me (former hypothyroid, so couldn't even imagine eating that much)
