Homemade Almond Butter

It's soo easy! The following is for a decently large batch, about enough to fill an average sized tupperware container.

Ingredients -
  • 240 grams of raw Almonds
  • 5-6 scoops of your favorite protein powder (aim for something very low in sugar/carbs)
  • H2O - add and stir until the consistency is to your liking

GO!! -
  1. Blend the almonds to a fine powder (leave it chunkier if you want it chunky!) and empty into bowl
  2. Add protein and mix thoroughly into almond powder
  3. Add water and stir until the consistency is to your liking

Store it in the fridge, this will keep the oil from separating and the almond buttery goodness from going bad. Please enjoy responsibly. :whip:

Calorie Content/Serving Size - assuming a scoop of whey = 30 grams on average
1 serving = 70 grams
330 calories per serving
  • ~ 20 grams fat
  • ~ 30 grams protein
  • ~ 9 grams carbs (without subtracting fiber content)

you are the man for posting this recipe. Im gonna have to try this out very soon. Question....

Is this almond butter better than peanut butter. Obviously with the added whey protein, the macros come out better, but how is the taste?

thanks

I think the flavor is great. It'll kind of depend on what flavor of whey you use, but I don't really think you can go wrong (unless it's like fruit punch flavor or something).

Looks good! I might try it. I've got a couple bags of ground almonds i could use :D

Some health food shops sell the almonds already ground :) thats where i got mine from
