HIT4ME Pushing The Envelope With Evolutionary Muse

WTF is Gamma ray burst ?

Astronomic cataclysmic event. Biggest after big bang. Super nova is a fart in comparison.

And yes, stop exercises and diet, it's coming our way. Start drinking, use drugs and fugg like rabbits, we are doomed. LOL

I suspect that doing a little bit of cardio helps a tiny bit too...
Everyone knows you by now. You are the muscle monster that runs marathons with a smile on your face.
No matter what supplement you take, you will always wipe your azz with fatties like us, LOL!

KML!!

Still, lifting itself causes no pain.

It seems to me you're asking for trouble. If this were a car issue, you'd be saying, "I hear a grinding sound when I hit the breaks but I still stop, so I guess I'm fine."

Listen to your body's GENTLE warnings before it decides you need a 2x4 across the face!

I can make a meal plan for you. And i promis you will lose 8+ kilos in a month. BUT and yes there is a but! Its REALLY hard... I mean you gonna cry and wanna suck nipples on Hairygranpa !! Just say when..I will help you. And no cheating i can see on your scale if you cheat. I will need pics once a week ! Or better yet a little movie of you standing on the scale

I will do a meal plan for him too, with ALL the forbidden stuff in it -but the rule will be: Don't eat it! LOL

HIT4ME , brother, I'm still waiting to see you jacked and lean.

Look, I'm almost 50 and have not much time left, would be great if you could pull it off in the next 10 years.

Here what I think about "fat-burner supplements":

Invalid Link Removed

It will make your wallet lean.

Well, I've gotten rid of all of my wallet weight now. Time to cut calories I guess. I think you know some things about me - First off, I pretty much agree with you. We put too much faith in supplements even drugs. It is kind of a crutch. On the other hand, I will say what I've always say, I am the Fox Mulder of supplements. "I WANT TO BELIEVE". I am out there searching for "The Truth".

And honestly, when diet and exercise is in check, there are some ingredients that help. And if you take things VERY long term (4-6 months) those results become easier to see. I think we expect so much though that many of the best ingredients often get overlooked - Forskolin, Capsaicin, Green Tea, 7-Keto and Yohimbine/Alpha-Yohimbine all have good data behind them, but the results are comparatively small and you may lose an extra pound a month, which is tough to see - unless it's 6 pounds extra over 6 months for instance.

Also, I couldn't get my diet in check and I was running DCP, Brite, Supernova, BMP (which is a muscle builder not a fat burner) - and I didn't gain any fat, which is actually something for me. It kept me stable around 187-188 while I failed in this log, and then I just realized that when I ran out I actually bumped up to about 191 pounds pretty quick! That's not the way we want to look at fat burners working, but I do personally believe DCP is one of the better fat burners out there. Actually, it is likely the best. It isn't going to be, "Take this and drop 20 pounds - no work needed" but the first time I took it when my diet was on lock down in my first log - I think you could see a big decrease in fat within 3 weeks despite my not losing much weight in those 3 weeks. I also hit a PR of 5 X 425 after a long time being stalled at 400 on the deadlift. Does that mean it was ALL the supplements? No...but I have to say that I may have had a little edge. Was it like night and day? No, but how much are you expecting from this? It's the last 5% right?

I'm super skeptical of products that claim to eliminate localized fat...

As well you should be. Matt has an interesting approach to all this. Supernova is a product he loves and most people who use his topicals become repeat customers....that's tough to say about a lot of fat burners nevermind topicals. Does that mean they work? Maybe not. Maybe it means people think they work and that's it.

You don't like spot burning fat? :(
It's such a well known myth tho...

One of Matt's approaches is to actually get chemicals into the fat cells that make it harder for the fat cells to function as storage/suck up new fat. This makes a lot of sense from a topical delivery angle; but you still need to burn more calories than you take in, otherwise that excess fat floats around in your blood stream until it eventually finds a place to be stored. And it WILL eventually find somewhere. You are right spot burning from exercise is a myth, but this is a little bit different.

Actually, I guess one of the downsides could be that if it becomes harder to store in your belly, your butt may get bigger because it is easier to store there, relatively.

It's surprising what we're willing to spend money on for the possibility of results. When I first started on this journey I went from 250 down to 170 in about 9 months. I didn't know anything about any supplements or the "correct" way to lose fat, but I knew if I burnt more calories than I ate, I would lose weight. And it worked. Sure I had a runners body, but I was also pretty lean. Ignorance is bliss, I guess.

This is THE MAJOR THING. We often forget that all we need to lose weight are the basics - diet and exercise. We don't need supplements, drugs, carb cycling, calorie cycling, ketogenic diets, intermittent fasting, or any special food or equipment. There are only TWO factors that make up 95+% of our success - Calories and Protein (ok, 3 if you include micronutrients for health). You get those two things right, and the rest is details. And as far as strict weight loss, regardless of lean mass or health, calories are all that matters.

I've seen people in my family who know NOTHING about dieting and don't even exercise lose over 100 pounds based on sheer will power. One person in particular kept saying she was on a "low carb" diet and talking about how she had to avoid carbs - but she was eating ALL KINDS of carbs every time I saw what she ate. She lost a ton of weight because she was only eating fewer calories and she started walking. Not only did she not know what she was doing, but she wasn't even doing what she THOUGHT she was doing. And she still had success.

And this gets back to the real key - find your reasons WHY. This is ALL that matters. If you have a strong enough reason why, you will make it work even if you lack the knowledge. Health isn't a reason - dig deeper and find what it is you actually want....to be able to play with your grand kids, to wow people at the beach, to move, to be able to take care of yourself and handle situations, whatever.

BTW, just ordered some DCP and Supernova. I guess I just can't help myself.

I am actually excited to see what the Assas1nate/DCP combo does. I think it will be highly effective. I think Foskolin/7-Keto would still be good add-ons. Assas1nate should hit the appetite suppression angle that DCP doesn't really hit and should have some complementary effects with DCP.

LMAO!

Consider to buy "Gamma ray burst". It's way stronger than "Super Nova".
Be careful with "Black hole". If you dose it too high you may start time traveling and suddenly be the fat school kid again.

Time travel? Alternate universe? Worm holes? - Black holes create some possibilities....good luck going through one and finding out. That would be the ultimate dieting experience. How much weight did you lose? All of it? How long did that take? No time at all...literally.

I use AA over the last 3 months with great Success!

I think, again, this is key with a lot of fat burners. I'm sure when you say great success, that means different things to different people. But I also think that using things for longer periods of time, when you can, gives a better idea of how effective they are. Problem is, there aren't a lot of products you can run for more than 3 months non-stop.

I suspect that doing a little bit of cardio helps a tiny bit too...
Everyone knows you by now. You are the muscle monster that runs marathons with a smile on your face.
No matter what supplement you take, you will always wipe your azz with fatties like us, LOL!

Well, there's that too. Nothing really to add here.

It seems to me you're asking for trouble. If this were a car issue, you'd be saying, "I hear a grinding sound when I hit the breaks but I still stop, so I guess I'm fine."

Listen to your body's GENTLE warnings before it decides you need a 2x4 across the face!

LOL - I will keep the eyes open for that 2 X 4. The thing is, I would have been more nervous if lifting weights caused discomfort or pain, which it hasn't. It's my daily activities that were impacted - particularly certain motions that I make during the day while working that have no physical strain at all. But when I worked out, it always felt fine, no impact at all.

That was, until you must have jinxed me. I worked out last night - Legs, Chest, Triceps. I did legs - my hips were sore as I described above and from the running - but squatting actually hurt less than it has been ...which wasn't much at all. Then I got to Dumbbell flyes and was doing my warm up set and my right shoulder started to hurt, so I terminated the set and called it - no chest or triceps. I will likely have to take some time off. The pain is very strange. It's like a very minor rotator cuff issue (scary) with some bicep/tricep tendonitis or something. It's hard to pin down exactly what the issue is. But over the past 24 hours, I've realized that extending my arm straight out to the side hurts, and then rotating my arm in that position also creates some pain. It is EXTREMELY minor, but I'd like to keep it that way, so I've hit my point where I am going to agree with you. Mark the calendar!

And that sir is why I bought it... I wanna be like BEAST73

Yeah, don't we all? 15 or more years of hard work and dedication and you can have that too! (I'm basing this on posts where he's talked about working out for time frames going back to 2000).

Anyway, to expand on what I said with KAPrice's comments - I'm having some pains. I'm going to have to take some time off from the weights I think. It was a little depressing because, I've been lifting but not in the weight loss mindset, and I feel like my diet mindset has just started to come back and now I can't lift. But I've decided - so what? I'm going to lose some weight. I will find a way to get activity in- burn some calories, lose some fat, and make some progress.

Today's weigh in:

Bodyweight: 189.4 pounds
Bodyfat %: 24.5%
Waist: 40.5" (hadn't taken this in a bit...seems to have jumped up recently)

Since I was 192.7 on Sunday, 190.8 on Monday and now down to 189.4 - I'm happy to see the scale moving but we all know there must be some water weight in there. Most I could have burned in those 48 hours is about a little more than a pound of fat.

Feel free to send me a meal plan. Keep in mind - I was on a PSMF for over 6 months last year which I logged on this forum. Yes, I cheated. If you can make me cry, I say bring it on.

I will do a meal plan for him too, with ALL the forbidden stuff in it -but the rule will be: Don't eat it! LOL

Oh, that's what I did in December. You're talking about the "Reverse Dieting Plan"

Then we will crush him like a worn if he steps outside the meal plans :D

Bring it on brother. I will show my abs if you do :)

HIT4ME , brother, I'm still waiting to see you jacked and lean.

Look, I'm almost 50 and have not much time left, would be great if you could pull it off in the next 10 years.

Come on, I've seen what you put in that body. You sure you have 10 years left?

Oh, and F#ck you btw. Yeah, you heard me. F#ck you AND your fat boy bread recipe too. When's the last time you did a squat or a deadlift?

Have we seen your abs yet?

Ok, I've had enough fun for the day picking on the old timer.

Good. But, that doesn't mean stop exercising altogether. Find some rehab work for where you feel the pain and commit to them. You can probably still walk or do stairs or eliptical. You can and probably should do some serious stretching.

And if your workouts are going to burn less calories, adjust on the intake side.

Good luck and be well!

PS: I didn't jinx it. I CALLED it!

PS: I'd LOVE to be 38 again, so quit your complaining!

Heck, even hairygrandpa's 50 is starting to sound young to me!

Have you tried the rucks HIT4ME? I thought you had mentioned it at one time, but I might be mistaken.

Ouch!
No idea if I have 10 years left. So hurry up chubby-boy!
Can't do squats with my fugged up knees, sorry, can't do. But deads? Your best is 425lbs?
425lbs deadlift is for PUZZIES, -and I'm gonna show you, doing them stiff legged, mark my words!
After that you'll need to apologize and admit your "beta status". :)

Abs, well, no abs here but chin ups with 90lbs x3 at 225lbs BW, how about that?

Having that off my chest, we wanna see you lean and mean HIT4ME , you promised it!

We have some ouchies, have we? Now that is a good reason to start eating -and farting in that couch.

Thanks man. I am going to work the treadmill and bike, roll on my baseball, stretch and maybe do some kinda shoulder rehab work.

Oh, and...Whatever...You jinxed it! Haha.

Lol - yeah I am not complaining. I don't feel old at all actually. I am pretty lucky. All the joint pain people have...Little injuries are nothing.

Have you tried the rucks HIT4ME? I thought you had mentioned it at one time, but I might be mistaken.

I did mention it. And then I went lazy and never did it. Now, I have the extra 25 around my belly, so I don't need the ruck haha. I am going to be a little more long term with my running plan and work my way up to that though...

Blah blah blah.....less yappin and more work!!!

I'm not a slacker, I'm doing the work! I'm baby stepping! I need, I need, I need!

Hit4Me has determined that typing burns calories! :)

Yeah, but only if you do it with high intensity. Is it bad news if I am out if breath after I post? I mean...This is so high intensity my heart rate is above 90%.

Ouch!

I am working in it man. And I wanna see your 5RM deadlift! Show us. If you can't though, it's ok, I don't want the old man to hurt himself.

Your pull up is awesome. Most I ever had on was 55. And I was 60 pounds lighter than you. So you have a solid 90 pounds on me there.

Impressive.

Today's diet: 2 beef jerky sticks, a protein brownie cake, 6 oz. Of chicken, 1 bag broccoli.

Totals: 1020 calories, about 110 g protein.

I've been on a quest to make a healthy brownie with decent macros that actually tastes good. So far, my brownies have come out more like cake....Not fudgy, not quite brownie like. My next attempt will be:

2 whole eggs, 1/4 cup almond milk, 1/4 cup coconut flour, 1.5 tbsp cocoa powder, 1 scoop Select Protein, 1 tbsp coconut oil, 1/4 tablespoon baking powder, 5 packs splenda. Will see how it comes out. Totals for the entire recipe;

Calories: 497
Fat: 29 g (14 from coconut oil, 13 from egg yolks)
Carbs:25 g (12 g fiber, 5 g sugar(
Protein: 39 g.

We have some ouchies, have we? Now that is a good reason to start eating -and farting in that couch.

Lol. But it huuuuurrrts.

Deadlift is not in my routine. I could do one at 425 with no preparation at all, that I'm sure.
Should be enough for an old fart like me to prove a point. :)

Time to finish your diet, you were so close!

Yeah...I was so close. Now ...I will take it further. I started last year at 217 pounds and ended up at 165. I figure 157 is gonna a be the lowest I can go...But I'm in a good place to be starting.

Oh, and you have nothing to prove hairygrandpa. I've seen the log. You are a beast. Not the BEAST73 , but a beast.

Ya don't say so as it would be a lie

Yeah, ya got me.

So, today's weigh in:

Bodyweight: 189.2
Body fat: 24.3%
Waist: 40.5''

No real exercise. I am just laying low to heal a bit.

Today's diet: 1/2 of the "brownie" I made yesterday, 4 oz turkey, 3 oz chicken, 1 bag broccoli and 2 oz Swiss cheese. Only about 82 g protein so far, 750 calories.

STRETCH!!!

Roller Ball

Tennis Ball

Tennis ball? I used a baseball.

Focusing in resting the shoulders. Did some running today, rolled on the baseball, stretched. Hip is starting to feel better. I think the rolling is really helping. The day after my first session left me feeling pretty bruised and beat up.. but now with some rest it is better.

Today's weigh in:
Bodyweight: 190.8 pounds
Body fat: 22.5%

I ate 1/4 pound of sliced turkey and 1 oz. Swiss cheese for lunch today. 200 calories, 30 g protein.

Tonight I made some muffin like things with 1 cup egg beaters, 2 scoops PES Select Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, 4 TBSP PBFit, 1 tsp baking powder, 4 packs of Splenda. Totals: 465 calories, 85 g protein.

Totals for the day: 665 calories, 115 g protein.

I spent 45 minutes on the treadmill and ran just over 4 miles. Treadmill said I burned 480+ calories, fitbit has me at 596 calories. Whatever. It's somewhere in there.

Look at you on the treadmill!! How'd the hip feel after the run?

Look at you on the treadmill!! How'd the hip feel after the run?

Haha...I'm not BEAST73 , SFreed or even a Kaprice. You guys don't think sustaining an 11 or 12 minute mile is something to brag about...But it's good for me haha.

But I think I can outdeadlift and maybe out run hairygrandpa. He has me on most other exercises.

Whatchu talkin bout Willis??

I think 45 minutes and 4 miles is absolutely something to brag about.

Whatchu talkin bout Willis??

I think 45 minutes and 4 miles is absolutely something to brag about.

Haha, well...You are a bigger dude than me and you run at about that same pace.

And I agree!!

Haha, you ENJOY doing what I did in 35 minutes. Hahahaha

Yeah, for TWO miles. Not FOUR!

Yeah...But you never said you couldn't go further.

I'm impressed with anyone who can run for more than 3 minutes. Haha.

Today's weigh in:

Bodyweight: 187.8 pounds
Bodyfat %: 22.8%

To answer SFreed's question about my hip, which I purposely held off on answering because it felt fine but the next day is often the worst - I woke up this morning and my hip was a little stiff, it usually is in the morning, but I think it feels fine. Legs are mildly tired, I have to think about it to feel it. What is killing me is my right FOOT! This happens from time to time when I start running. Geez, I can't keep this up, I won't be able to pick on the old guys for their nagging aches and pains if I keep this up much longer.

Gettin old ain't for p u$$ ies

Hit, I'm offended at your cultural appropriation. Sore hips belongs to people over 50. I'm going to go spend some time in my safe place to recover. In the meantime, you need to undergo sensitivity training.

Sh1t then. I'd better avoid that. Can I carry my pink purse (that hairygrandpa says I carry) into old age? It's got mace!

Appropri-what? I don't even understand what you're talking about :) haha

Welcome to my world, I promise you, it's getting worse.

I know actually. I see where this is all going when I look at you- I've got the hairy chest and now I'm hoping I don't wind up bald and wearing a blue shower cap while hobbling around complaining about my knees and using them as an excuse to avoid all the real exercises - deadlifts, squats, bench presses.

Stop whining about some ouchies and work around the problem.

Just you wait! I'm currently cutting, using the magic of cardio. This time I really mean it (again, LOL).
I prefer to be a big bald, hairy dude with a shower cap, -instead of a whiny fat guy with a pink purse, doing yo-yo diets.

Actually....Yo-yo dieting is the next stupid myth I'm going after. I'm not joking either.

I think yo-yo dieting actually beneficial to obese people. You heard it here first.
