Highschool athlete thread

Well, today was the last day of my training routine, so I am going to give a final critque of everything. First off I always like to say this is the 400th post in my log and I gained so much information from every single one of these! I will like to thank every single one of you huge specimen of the human will for your advice, critisim and support throughout this long process I took myself into doing!

Here is a little extract from my first post

basemark exercises as of 3/20, i max out once every month for my coach because i dont lift at my highschool so he can make sure ima making progress
bench: 265
squat: 385
deadlift(hexbar, it what my coach makes us use to max out): 465
next week is a max out week so ill update these either monday or wedneday

Goals for football
200lbs-210lbs
bench: 315
squat:445
deaslift:500
height 6ft 6inch

Some of my goals came some didnt. I bench 300 lbs today so I am beyond happy with that, those 15lbs dont mean as much as the understanding of benching that I have learnt, My deadlift is 510 so I am all happy about that.. My squat hit my goal right on the nose. My weight is 195 but It is a good 195 and my body its better than I dreamt it to be!! My height was more of a wish than a goal hahah!!

Supplemnts- going all natural and seeing the gains I have seen. I wish I could be the poster child for kids my age showing that supplements mean so little at all compared to a good diet and routine. I wish I would have jumped my calories to 4500 earlier but it is what it is!!

Overall- beyond overjoyed in everything, thanks guys and I cant wait to start my after football lifting Log here
 
Congrats on your improvements man. Wish I could get my little bro on here to read your log. He's a junior fb player. He's going to be one strong mofo when he graduates. He already powercleans 255 and deads 500 hex bar at 185. His diet is shîtty too. O well, the power of being 17 I guess lol. But good luck with your fb season man. Thanks for the motivation you've given me.

Strong height goal bro. LOL I know you are going to pull some sick lifts for your football liftathon man.
 
Dude! I am pumped because there is only one guy that might get a higher total than me and he is 6ft 6in and like 275lbs. My total is going to be atleast 1240 and he maxed out early cause of a vacatiom and got 1285. but if you go by percentage though i blow everyone out of the water with deadlift and squat. most with bench except for those few that bench all the time
 
So i need some advice, I am trying to decide what football number I want. I was 1 in 9th grade, 36 in 10th and 40 in 11th. None of these numbers are that important nor do I have one i really want. I am a senior letterman captian so i get first dibs, any idea?
 
i think low numbers are so cool especially on a linebacker type player cause he seems to dwarf it, i am stuck between 8 and 40
 
I say 40. I always imagine one number guys as qbs/kicker/safety or something. Donno why lol
 
same here, if i stay 40 our mike is 41 so if we get our left lb to be 42. We would be 40,41,42

So i walked into the gym ready to break my football teams record for deadlift. I have already done more but its not official unless it happens at a max out or liftathon. So 500 is the record set by a kid that was on his like his 4 cycle at the time so the 500 needs an * by it... all of these had 3-5min break in between

525/0i missed it by three inches but was too dead to try it again.. also i have all week to try it again
 
i ended my liftathon with a deadlift of 520.. a squat of 455and a bench of 300 for a total of 1275
 
Very nice work man. Those are some really solid numbers.
 
Football is going real great. I had my first scrimmage today, they only had 40 kids to our 90+ so our starters didnt play alot due to our coaches wanting to look at the kids they havent had yet. We did two sets of ten on offense and defense. I had 4 carries for 127 yards and a touchdowns. The first was a 70 yarder on my first carry! Our defense did good, no big plays involving picks or fumbles but me and my mike linebacker killed a kid!
 
i havent done an update here in a while, season starts this week! we are versing the best team we'll see all season! last scrimmage was yesterday i didnt play d cause they only had 41kids or so to our 86. I had 5 carries for 3tds and 243yds... and my new gloves and cleats came!

I have been banged up more than I like but I am having a decent senior year. Our team is good, better then expect. We are in the top 25 AAAA teams in the state and predicted to win 3-5playoff games
 
Keep up the good work! my brother's coming on to his last game 2 weeks from friday. gonna be a rough time for him and I both lol.
 
I am going to start updating again regularly, been real busy with sports, school and colleges. Today is a stretch day, wish I could have gone to the gym but when school is canceled the gym is going yo be too. Ima going to keep it easy till about late november/ early december. I am still figuring out what routine I want to do. I got into powerlifting for football, but I dont have a reason to lift that high of weight on a consistent basis anymore and I want to focus a little more on apperance than just raw strength. So any opionons on routines will be greatly appreciated
 
It amazes me how much I have been undereating.I feel like I have ate more so far today than I have in a long time. Thanks goodness I am counting calories again!

I have dropped so much weight from mot eating enough that it makes me want to cry

Im looking forward to this. I am hoping for a growth spurt sometime soon. My dad 5ft 10ib grew 4in between the ages of 17 and 18 and my grandpa 6ft 8in grew 9 inches, yes 9inches between 16 and 17. That would be sweet to hit 6ft or so

hell yeah bro!!! youre gonna get it I know it, even if you stay short thats not such a bad thing cause you can move weight less distance ;)

This time I am keeping my promises and I am going to be on her consistently. It is horrible how busy I have been getting lately. This should be slowing down real quick. My school work is getting lighten up, I finished my two half year courses early so I am done to 5 and get out over 2 hours earlier from school. My college situation should be wrapped up. I have appreciated all the support from everyone greatly and hoping for some more!!!
 
Goood workout coming tonight!! Its an off day from the the gym so it is a bodyweight workout
