Help with water retention

Hi there.

Last Friday I got checked at my GF's nutritionist clinic. Near to 32 years old male, 1.74 (5'8" I guess) and 75 kg (165 pounds). 16% body fat.
Frankly, I feel on my best shape since my early twenties, but I know those numbers are rookie numbers here 8).

The point is: the biometric whatever machine tells I am well hydrated, my metabolic rate is OK (9 out of 14), but... I have some water retention.
The doc said my data looks like a common pattern in women.

Is an AI the way to go to reduce water retention? Any specific recommendation for this particular goal?

Back in the day I used 7,8 Benzo from Barlowe's. It treated me well regarding libido, but I didn't notice any extra drying. I was taking FD2, wich already leans me out, so maybe I just didn't notice...

Thks!!

Whilst I wouldn't encourage focusing on the biometric readings in terms of accuracy, the reason you are holding water may not be hormone related unless you have a test identifying that.

It could also be:

High carb intake
Low electrolyte intake, or inconsistent electrolyte intake
Binging water intake
etc.

Hydration strategies are a topic of concern in sport science because small changes in one of the above can influence water retention to a significant degree, and rarely is it because of hormone imbalance.

More than likely it is one of the above mentioned reasons. Depending on what your diet is like it's probably has something to do with water intake, carb intake, and sodium intake.

A food allergy and or intolerance can also cause some bloating. The intestine has many receptors similar to your brain and can be thought of as a second brain. The food you eat and the gut flora that live there can affect the way to look and feel.

Thank you all for the knowledge.

Uhm, my carb intake has been pretty low the last 8 weeks or so. I've been somehow following my GFs diet to some extent.
I barely consume any salt.

May be excessive water intake, but I doubt it. I drink maybe a little above 3 liters/day, and I sweat lots in my running/treadmill sessions.
Doc said I was well hydrated.

Anyway, there's something I could do to avoid or reverse it?

Next October I will take a food intolerance exam 8).

Thank you all.

Uhm... I manage stress fairly well, I guess.

I think I am subjected to high cortisol levels. I run often, and really push myself hard so I experience physical stress. BUT, being aware of that, I take care of it taking ashwagandha (KSM66, 600 mg daily), Rhodiola (5% rosavins, 500mg daily); fish oil (Oximega, 2 softgels daily) and soy lecithin at two tablespoons per day.

So regarding cortisol I should be fine.

I had a diet that had me holding a bunch of water......whats throwing me off is that doctor said that similar to a woman, that's kind of odd

I found out I don't do well with carbs, I limit them as you say you are doing low carb already.......I implemented physllium husk awhile ago and it took care of bloat and some water retention

The biggest key is that this is a clinic and a nutritionist. Did the offer services shortly after. If concerned see a doctor that can run proper tests to determine the reason. Depending on the reason there may be a simple or more complex way to release it. Personally I am prone to edema which is dangerous if left to swell. I take a water pill at least once a day and use potassium as well.

No. In fact I was just accompanying my GF for the second time, and she offered me a free reading.

She never suggested any kind of diet, plan or whatever she could try to sell me. Not at all.
In fact, she said I don't need anything.

But that water retention thing, I mean, if there's something I can do about it I'm up for it.
