Hey ladies, I need some help. Got a new lady recently, pretty crazy about her. She looks damn good to me, has amazing personality, etc etc. She is a little overweight, I am guessing she either weighs 150 or 160 and is about 5'6" or 7". She got called fat by a friend and had a real hard time accepting it so we decided she was going to lose weight. She wants to drop 30 pounds. I told her it would only take a few months. She is 21, she's put all the weight on since she got to college, alcohol weight lol. I know I can drop that kind of weight real fast, 5lbs a week super easy, but I have no idea when it comes to women. I figured I would get her on OEP, unless there is a better option.

I know diet is important, she went to culinary school and has 5 roommates so she cooks often. I told her she is not allowed to cook at her house anymore (because she will cook a ton of food) and she has to eat half of what she dishes herself, but she can't change her portions (I'll finish them :P) Also no more drinking.

I've got her drinking a small glass of lemon juice before bed and a tbsp of apple cider vinegar as well. I used that during HS wrestling to cut weight fast.

I figure a cardio heavy workout routine with some weightlifting thrown in. I know men lose weight best with low intensity and heavy resistance, like walking on max incline treadmill or doing stairs. Is it the same for women?

Basically just looking for a healthy way for her to lose her college weight, about 30 pounds, relatively quickly. She used to be thinner and took it real hard when someone called her fat, even though she isn't actually fat.

It's just hard because my metabolism is retarded quick lol.

Before I reply, just had to say that 150-169 at her height is not overweight or fat. Females can be cruel, and it might even have been said in jest, but they also need to stop being so sensitive.

There is no difference in training females than males. Read http://anabolicminds.com/forum/female-fitness/170848-do-women-require.html

If she wants fat loss, then have her (and you) read Invalid Link Removed - there is a sample training programme in there for beginners (and experienced trainees), as well as comprehensive advice and information on nutrition, supplementation, and training for effective and successful fat loss.

To finish, if she can't put something together from that, then I recommend that I recommend she gets herself a trainer who knows what they're doing to design her a training programme specifica for HER for her goals and needs.

I'm going to be her trainer :) And I don't think she is overweight either, she isn't as skinny as she uesed to be, but she is super sexy :P

I found that late last night, good information, especially good to know about the sprints, as I would have had her on a stairmaster for 2 hours a day lol.

Ok. Well, if you follow the principles in that article, she'll get results. And scale weight isn't everything, especially for the more athletic females, since muscle weighs more than bodyfat, and muscle definitely looks better than fat skinny!
