HCG question

Ive got a buddy that picked up some HCG from GNC and hes been taking it the last few weeks and cleaned up his diet and says hes lost 12lbs already. He had a buddy of his do it and dropped 40 in a month with a very low calorie intake. Was curious if anyone else had any experience with hcg. Ive tried to find stuff on the forum but HCG is to short for it to search and I cant seem to find anything

I've got a buddy who managed a GNC and he called up the company and they said that there was actually hcg in the product (platinum, or whatever the brand is). I personally don't believe it. I think it's completely placebo effect and the fact that you're eating 500 cals/day. I wouldn't trust it, but that's just me.

Completely agree, there should be no way that that is real hCG and the weight loss if probably from starving yourself...good luck when you actually start eating normal again to keep that weight off

Can someone elaborate on what HCG is? I have tried googling but with very little success....

Not the best place to learn about it, but it was the first result when googling "hcg":

But if you sift through a bit more, you'll see it's main use around here is during PCT and a few will use it for it's fat-loss properties doing the hcg diet mentioned in the initial post here.

Gotcha.

And is this really just a homeopatic compound or is that the knockoff version of an actual, medical, compound that some people do end up getting? I'm just kinda lost on all of this hype and stuff, I've looked on amazon and it just seems absolutely surreal, specially coming from a non-controlled substance.

Surreal enough that I even wanted to see if that would work along my keto diet

Like I said, I wouldn't trust it whatsoever. It's not expensive anyway, but something you ingest orally vs inject throws up red flags to me. Plus, read the labels on these things - they're just amino acids that are listed (all with prop amounts, of course). My friend who called the company said that supposedly the hcg is within all of that, but I don't believe it.

Think about it - the people who go to GNC and buy it are all obese. They're not bodybuilders, so they're not gonna notice if they lose 40 lbs of fat vs. 40 lbs of muscle or some combination of the two. If any one of us restricted ourselves to 500 calories a day, we'd likely get the exact same results in terms of overall weight-loss, but I'd bet good money we'd lose a lot of muscle (unlike the benefit of legitimate hcg, where there is a muscle sparing effect due to fueling the body from the fat stores).

This is the ingredients off vitacost. Actually cant find "restorHCG" at GNC.
Ingredients: Active Ingredients: Human Chronic Gonadotropin (HCG) 6x, 12x, 30x, 60x, L-Arginine 3x, 12x, 30x, L-Carnitine 3x, 12x, 30x, L-Ornithine 3x, 12x, 30x, Vitamin B-12 6x. Inactive Ingredients: Purified water, 20% ethyl alcohol.

LMAO, i thought you were saying your buddy bought amps of hcg from gnc.

Mike

this is what I was thinking too...I was almost ready to start shopping at GNC again :p

Believe it or not it WAS real hcg has since been recalled and now there is a new product hcg x30....what's interesting is the fact that once mixedhcg usually has a very short shelf life maybe 3 weeks....hcg does have oral bioavlabity it jus isn't as effective as inject

I'm siding with 'or not.' I want to see the original recall that showed that a supp store like GNC was carrying real hcg.

So has anyone had any experience with any of the HCG products

They're playing off of the name of a hormone that bodybuilders take on AAS cycles to help to keep their boys from shrinking and also to help ensure that they come back 100% in PCT.

The ones available at supp stores are just homeopathic (don't even get me started on this category,) or your typical run of the mill weight mgmt supp with an enticing name.
