Has anyone been using or logging Anator P70 or Myozene?

Agreed. But you get a nice dose of BCAAs from regular whey anyway, and you've got to question whether or not the hydrolysate really even matters.
I agree. I believe AST's whey powder [VP2] is about 30% BCAAs if I'm not mistaken. Physique by Shaklee is also another one and it's comprised of 44%. I haven't heard of anything better out on the market. If I ever run out of Physique I resort to the VP2 I have lying around until I get some more.

Well the BCAAs are just a subset of the essential aminos if I recall right. From a basic whey concentrate you'll get around 9-10 grams of EAAs with around 4-5 grams of that being BCAAs I believe. So unless you're megadosing for an experiment and your diet and training are dialed in to the point where the slight difference supplementing with them may make over time could possibly be noticed, I don't see the point.

And that's in light of the fact that few people, if anyone honestly, has control of their diet to such a point that any supplementation with these and whatever benefit they confer wouldn't be negated by a few days slip up in meals and macro intake here and there. **** it. Get a decent whey product that tastes good and mix in some oatmeal and cottage cheese and a small dollup of your healthy fat of choice and Viola! CDB's Advanced Systems Essential and Branched Chain Amino Acid Delivery Complex, guaranteed to pack on mass and deliver a perfect 40/40/20 macro nutrient breakdown every time!

Check out the "Protein Wars" article on the Body and Fitness site. It gives a nice summary and is pretty much my view on the subject now after a bunch of reading. All else being equal you can get a product, even with Leucine or all the BCAAs in it, that's just as 'effective' for much less money.

From what I gather the study many use to show its fast absorption had it being introduced to the intestines via a tube, in the real world you still have to drink it, and it begs the question of whether or not 'fast' proteins are all that much faster to begin with, and whether even if they are it will make any difference whatsoever for recovery/muscle growth. Plus starvation studies are used as well. Anyone here starving themselves?

Definitely valid points and worth considering when making choices. Personally, I typically just use an affordable whey isolate and oats.

Basically the same here. Is it protein? Does it taste good? Add oats and I'm done.

Do you guys consider the quality of your whey protein? It might come across as a sarcastic or malicious question but in all honesty, how do you know your whey is getting absorbed, delivering the claimed efficacy, etc.?

Basically, what makes one protein brand better than the other?

Well its all testomonial and hear say. The unreliability of testimonials was dramatically illustrated by the case of former football star O.J. Simpson, who was charged with stabbing his wife and her friend Ronald Goldman. In March 1994, shortly before these murders took place, he was videotaped telling 4,000 distributors at a meeting that Juice Plus+ had cured his arthritis. Testimony in the murder case indicated that he was also taking sulfasalazine, a standard anti-inflammatory drug that could have relieved his symptoms. Subsequently, his defense attorneys presented medical testimony that Simpson was so crippled by arthritis that he could not have committed the murders. There for with out publsihed studies you get another story like this over and over again.

Then I hope you and CDB both consider at least TRYING Black Star Labs line and flavors.

True Protein carries us for a reason. ;)

I love my physique. I recover so much faster and yes I too have used vp2 which I liked but every since I used physique I never turned back.

Honestly you should be eating enough dietery protein so that supplementing with whey is a choice, not a necessity. As for whether or not it's getting absorbed, there's no way to know about any protein. If you're honestly worried about it you can always eat more of it.

Are you referring to Shaklee's Physique when you say 'physique'? I've seen a lot of your posts and I would highly recommend you utilize some proper capitalization in your posts. It will confuse us readers a LOT less.

I would say the only time whey is honestly necessary is PWO, wouldn't you agree?

Yes "Physique"

I would agree with you that after working out would be the best time to take a shake.

Oh psshhhh. Anator and/or Myozene got NOTHIN on the Vendetta/Relentless stack.

BTW, Toad, I convinced my local Super Supplements to stock Vendetta. It just got put on the shelf the other day. :D

Clerk: "Looks kinda boot-leggish."
Me: "That's cause it's hardcore. Are you hardcore?"
Clerk: "Hell yes!"
Me: "That's why I convinced you to stock it."

Now I just need to get them to carry Ultra Peptide. Eventually everyone will see what a superior blended protein UP is. Whoooaaa, I'm gettin way off topic. Maybe we should discuss Alpaca wool harvesting next. :frustrate

I use MyoZene. It is pricey I suppose. I tried to make a MyoZene "clone" using TrueProtein.com, and came pretty close, but the price really wasn't all that lower and the taste suffered. I'm willing to pay a little more for a hydro-whey supplement that doesn't taste awful.

I wish they put 4-hydroxyisoleucine (like Replenish) or banaba/corosolic acid in it.

Necessary? Nah. Doesn't hurt though. People have been getting big and strong without all supplements including whey for a long time. Good diet, good training, the rest is gravy that may or may not give a smidgen of help, except for the advanced chemical assistace methods.

I never said whey supplement is necessary, I said whey:icon_lol:

I kinda thought you meant a pre/post shake. As far as I'm concerned that's a supplement, though some people see it as straight food.
I don't believe in pre-workout shakes. I rather have some solid food (complex carbs and protein) 1.5 hours prior to training. If I were to have a shake prior to training, it would be a fruit smoothie. That's about it. Post workout, I just find it more convenient to have a shake + it holds me over until I can get my PWO meal together, cooked and ready to be consumed!

I actually just started using myozene, I guess I just figured I would give it a try. The taste is ok but I do not think anyone uses this stuff or any supp for taste. So far so good but it has only been a week thus far.

Myozene was a waste for me. I had diarrhea, cramps, no weight gain at all. After my workout I would drink a shake on the way home, 1hr later when your gunna eat a meal I would have to head to the bathroom and sure didnt want to eat when im crappen my guts out, I finished the jug and was very disappointed, but there are a few people that have had the same experience.

Why did you bother finishing it? I mean, I like keeping myself regular, but there's a difference between regular and unstoppable.
