Hairygrandpas log, fat- and older people welcome!- diet, training, cycles, healing

I'm doing some occlusion training and I love it.

After my vacation, I will try occlusion training, as Dma378 does. Looks really promising.
As nobody in my gym does that, I guess it will not go unnoticed, lol

Are you paying for Stoppani's program?
I'm the only one in my gym I've seen do it also. I can feel people looking LOL

It's all good, it looks kind of bad ass.

Yes, saw it in your log!
As I can't train legs (both knees "kaputt"), this could be a good way to get some size on them, doing light leg work with BFR.

I already see me struggling with the straps, pretending to know what I'm doing -until a rubber band comes loose and slaps someone in the face, LOL

Subbed up in here.... impressive transformation my friend
Thank you! I will not stop transforming until I'm a butterfly, a hairy one. Hehehe.

Damn, you're still tearin it up in here! Good job. I've been out for a month due to injury and trying to stoke myself back up to return again

I thought it was free?

It even has a free phone app to use during the workouts

Is there a paid version?
When i googled it, first site that opened was a paid program site.

Personally, I'm not a fan of any program, the creativity choosing my own routine, plays a big part for me.

Until I can get back into a proper gym, I can't really undertake any sort of a program, even if I wanted to. I am restricted by what equipment I have available here :). But I know what you mean about needing to have control of your own routine. However I also look at it that a professionally (maybe medically) trained trainer may know better how to overload the muscle groups by structuring the exercise, and timing of each one, in a way that maybe I would not have thought of, or known to try.

Damn injuries! Maybe you should look into BFR too. At least for some leg- and arm workouts.
Then we could call us "The Rubber Brothers". LOL

Google is my professional trainer, especially youtube. We both know for growth you have to over-stimulate a muscle, well, that is easy-peasy.

-youtube seeking exercises for the muscle in question, choosing 3 different
-punish the muscles beyond the comfort zone with proper form
-eat clean and give them rest (over 40yo=48hours minimum for a muscle group when natty), read about nutrition first
-switching exercises every few month

I highly doubt that there is much more to it.
When I was young, everybody trained that way in communist Germany (without youtube), they won most medals at the Olympics, besides the Russians.

You could be an inspurational speaker/trainer! :)

By the way, was does BFR stand for?

You got me more interested in the occlusion training too. I know that you suggested it to me way back when, but I was/am trying to get a baseline to my workouts. Since I hit a bit of a plateau (again, *sigh*) I am ready to try something new :)

Blood Flow Restriction , because occlusion would mean restricting ALL blood flow = miss leading.
I'm training my son, that makes me officially a trainer, LOL.
I was karate instructor in my youth, don't remind me of that. Nowadays, when I try a kick, it looks more like a dog pissing than karate, LOL.
Since I'm going on vacations, I will try BFR afterwards. Getting rubber bands and stuff will take awhile also, as it has to be shipped to me first.
Two new adventures planed for July:

1. operation: "Veterinary Blitzkrieg", injecting horse medication into a old hairy horse, Pentosan and Artroglycan -or Adequan, Peptides too
2. operation: "Rubber Brother", BFR for arms and legs

Ahhh yes BFR! I must've needed a coffee earlier. I was looking into BFR as part of Layne Norton's PS3 Program, but I think I am too broken for PS3!!!

BFR will be great to add in now though!

Especially when injured! Training with 20% of max weight = win!
It does hurt, they say... LOL
If cutting a toe off grows muscles, I'll do it.

The awesome part of BFR is that I used to sort of do this as a warmup. I've used bands on my shoulders and knees and done some warmups sets, usually makes me feel amazing, and really mobilizes my $hitty joints. On top of getting blood into the area, it also helps with sticky adhesions and such I find.

Everything in this comment is conspiring against me. Re-read it but instead of "stoke", make it "stroke". Ending with the thumb up.

I have a dirty mind and soap doesn't help.

Today in the gym, a personal trainer came over and asked me: Que estas tomando? / What are you taking?
I said: Porque preguntas? Why are you asking?
He said: Lo quiero! / I want it!
I said: Como todos los dias frijoles./I eat every day beans.

LMAO , I do not think he believed me...

LOL. Guess that just means your progress is obvious to everyone around you. That is always the best compliment. :)

I finally got an idea how my body responds to certain foods. Since I changed my diet at least 5-7 times in the last year.
Also, I take Betaine HCL with every meal to aid digestion, it works wonders with regular poopy AND gains!
Progress is now truly visible and I look forward to a new cutting attempt.

Have a nice weekend @ ALL, gonna visit my farm, get me some fish, kill some chicken for food too and stare at the ass of my employees daughter.

Have a good weekend HG.

Weekend was a disaster.
Dog got into chicken enclosure killing 5 chicken. Employees wife got between chicken and dog and was bitten in face and neck.
Went with her to the ER for stitches.
After coming back to the farm at night, a neighbors girl stood at the entrance, pregnant (me=innocent) and pleading for help because her child was coming any moment.
WTH?
I got her in the car and drove again to the hospital, luckily the baby didn't came in the car.
Too much action for one weekend...

Damn that is a lot of action for one week lol, but who in the right mind gets in the way of a dog killing chickens without protection.

It's technically her dog, the dog lives with them. But I will urge her to get something like this:

Hairygrandpa and his hairy antics.

Beware the weird old man. When I get a chance, I will throw my colostomy bag at you.

:saevil:

You're gonna be the life of the nursing home soon. I can see it now.

Nice session ... lots of volume with those presses

Thank you.
Because of shoulder problems I opt for volume with short pauses and moderate weights for all pressing exercises.
Works great for the old man.
