Hairloss (Nizoral OTC/Nioxin)

I understand that most people recommend using spiro during cycles for hairloss, but I don't know where to find it other than minoxidil.com (seemed a little pricy and I like shopping around) I'm currently using proscar split into 5's and taking 1/5 ED along with using Nioxin and/or Nizoral OTC. Anyone know if these are worth using? Most say to use the Nizoral 2% and the OTC is 1%. Just curious if the 1% works as well?

Also Nioxin is a shampoo for hairloss that is supposed to block DHT, but I haven't heard many bros mention this.
 
I use Nizoral 2% & have never lost any hair. The 1% is probably better than nothing, but 2% is real cheap so why bother. I don't think you need spiro unless you are prone to MPB. I've never needed it.

Do a search on Yahoo Shopping for Spirolactone (sp?), Nizoral, etc- you'll get a bunch of Canadian pharmacy places & find the best prices. I got Nizoral 2% from americanameds.com for like $12 a bottle.

Never heard of Nioxin, but if it blocks DHT, it's something to consider.
 
Is Nizoral as good as Spiro, is it the same thing?

ps: How many times a week do you guys use Nizoral?
 
It CD$10 if you live in Canada so theres a healthy markup getting it online.
Nizoral is not the same as spiro, works completely different.
Just a couple time a week needed, scalp will be too dry otherwise. Label also says to leave it on for 5mins w/o washing it out.
 
Yes, nizoral is a shampoo.

For me, a shampoo is much easier than rubbing some goop in my hair and scalp
 
Nizoral works for many, but it's not near as effective as Spiro. Spiro is a topical cream/gel, nizoral is shampoo that's actually made for hardcore dandruff. If you are already losing hair or you know you are prone to MPB, then definitely use spiro or both. If you're like me & don't lose hair & just want to take precaution, then nizoral is an effective & cheap way to do it. There is a ton of info on BB.com on both of these & other hairloss sups.

I use nizoral shampoo every other day (on cycle) & leave on for a few minutes, the bottle says 3-5 minutes.

Nizoral I can buy at my local pharmacy, but spiro, but I need a prescription or can I also buy that ast my local pharmacy?

ps: Do any of you have an ichy scalp?

You can only get 1% nizoral OTC & it's not very good. You can get 2% nizoral & spiro either by prescription or ordering online from canada without a script. Do a search on Yahoo, there are a shitload of sites selling both.

I've used 2% every day for 3-4 weeks & never had any dryness or itchiness.

I heard that the fellow running that site passed away. I don't think it's up and running anymore...(but I could be wrong???)

I dont know if he died or not, but I have been hearing bad things about them, which supposedly, is very out of character for the company, so I guess he may have died.
 
Yeah, the guy that bought it from Nizoralman died from an Oxycontin (hillbilly heroin) overdose. They are having troubles sending out backorders so steer clear.

I too need a spiro source that doesn't charge a bogus "referral" fee.

Sledge, this would be a good line for you to pick up, you know the PH world won't be around long.
