Hair Dye???

I haven't started a thread for discussion in a while and thought this would be a good one for some.

Dying your hair. Who does it, and what products have you found to work the best? If people want to talk about highlights and crap, I guess that would be okay too. Although, highlights are not for me.

Ohhh...and Beelz, you don't count since you shave your melon...lol.

I'll start off here....
My hair started getting some gray when I turned 32 or so. Ove the last 6 years the grey has come in more and more, mainly on the sides. Now, I have have dark brown hair, so the gray is very noticeable. I am not self-conscious in any way about it. In fact, most chicks I meet like the grey on the sides. The other day a girl asked my chick how old she was, then asked my age. There's a 13 year difference here. When she was told I am 38, she couldn't believe it. I'm frequently told I look 32-34 and have to show my drivers license to prove my age. My chick told me if I didn't have the gray, I could easily pass for 30. I started thinking if I should bother trying a hair dye product just to see the results. However, I know dudes who dye their hair and it turns out looking like ****, kind of like a bad toupee.

I know the best way is to have hair dyed is professionally. But, my hair is short and would need to be dyed very frequently, which would become expensive.

Some of you will say "if it doesn't bother you, then why consider dying it?" or something to that effect. That's not the answers I'm looking for. I'm looking for a superior product that others have used, so if I do ever consider it, I won't look screwed up. I have a reputation to uphold in my "party life" I'm living right now.:D

I'm getting the gray too, but it doesn't bother me either. I will say if you do it, don't try to spot treat or use the 'Just for Men' **** - my boss uses it, and it's very obvious, lol!

Thats a very risky venture you are considering......keep in mind that if it doesnt work out (you dont like the color or you decide you dont like dying it once a week) that you will have to either endure a stage where it is obvious that you have stopped dying your hair or you will have to shave it and let the original color grow back out. I dyed my hair black a little while ago (im a blond) and i had to buzz my head to escape it once i decided to stop dying it.
I dyed my hair for fun.....Your dying it to look younger. I say since you already have a girl why worry?

I'm just starting to notice a few gray's myself. I too look great for my age and am often guessed as being 10 years younger than I am. I know that when I really start to go gray I will have to add the dying ritual to my monthly haircut. I've got to take care of number one plain and simple.

I would just almost shave my head and let it go gray. I think this look on fourty to fifty rear old body builders is awsome, but thats just my opinion.

i bleached my hair once upon a time while i was in the marines. figured it would grow out in a month(30days leave). i was wrong so i had to shave it off.........and kept shaving. it's easy to dye hair though, directions are cake. if something goes wrong with it, you can try again with a darker shade. if you do it too often though, you'll fry your hair.

I used to have blue spikey hair, does that count? :p
Special effects brand dye was my weapon of choice for punky hair lol.

its easy to do though, or just do what I did and get a ( ideally hot) female friend to do it for you, they love stuff like that.

I would go with a professional. It actually takes awhile before it grows out to the point where you have to go back in and get it done again.

Go see a professional, explain the situation (getting expensive) ask her what she/he recommends as far as dying it yourself....and enjoy :)

Good luck

i`ve been getting gray hair since i was 16. im now 24 and my sides are pretty full with it and i have the whole salt and peper thing going on. my wife dyes it once in a while but i really dont care. makes me look like a sexy 40 year old with a 24 year old body.
