Its basically my ultimate insecurity in life. My room is so close to my parents room that its hard to have a private conversation with anybody, which especially sucks with girls. Im gonna be at home for a least another year, so I just whanna nip this problem in the but now, so I can get over this hump and become the cool guy I know I already am. Ca anyone help me out and tell me about a cheap place to get this stuff? I dont wanna fill the walls of a house that isnt mine. I just whant something to tape to them.

Maybe try a egg crate foam mattress cover. It would probably be the cheapest.

put everything in ur room against the wall between u n ur parents. n then wedge a lot of cardboard/foam (or anything dampening) inbetween ur stuff n the wall.

Thanks guys! The cardbord may work if I use a few layers. Ill say I dont have much faith in the egg cartons or mattress covers. I know they work under normal circumstances, but my door is basically plywood!

You would be better off with the egg crate foam.... The soft nature of the material makes it a great insulator or sound. (that's why similar materials are used in sound studios). Tack a **** load of that up (even to your door) and then pin up a heavy blanket on that. Good luck bud

Check out amazon.com. You'd want to get the thickest possible. 4" probably.

that stuff would work for sure.

Thanks guys! Seems like an easy and affordable solution to a problem I should half solved years ago. Oh well, I guess that whole awkward teenager stage made me the man I am today!

Hahahhaha! Being a teenager is the worst/best part of life. Worst cause if you go back you would fix all your mistakes, best because they are the most memorable.
