We need to get Spurlocks contact info and write the dude and tell him how fucked the show was. Wonder what Bob thought about it when it aired.

I can't believe anyone is surprised by how biased this show was.

What is a safe topic to bash?

...uh steroid use?

Right...

furthermore the white, liberal media will attack anything that promotes increased strength and or masculinity...a tolerant, seeensitiiiive society just can't have that!!!
Yeah, b/c the conservative dominated gov't and the conservative media outlets aren't guilty of the same level of pussidom.

I would have liked to see the effects on a single guy, with ample time to work out and no nagging bitch of a gf/wife and someone who is educated about steroids and knows that while on he might have some REVERSABLE effects such as smaller testicles, low sperm count, and messed lipids.

While there was a definite anti-steroid/hormone slant to the show and his wife was a HYOoGE a pain in the dick, I don't blame her. There were definite things that were cause for concern...because that asshole of a test-subject didn't do one bit of independent research! Raised liver values and complete sterilization are very scary things to most people. Hell, I know about it and what to do to combat it but it still makes me uneasy. I mean, if you're going to undertake this type of therapy, wouldn't you, at the very least, do a google search and find out what the effects/sides will be? It wouldn't have been such a harsh experience if he knew what to expect. When I became interested in chemical enhancement, during the infancy of the internet, I went to the friggin library, read everything I could find and then used their computers to run a search. Nothing came as a shock to me, in the way of sides, and I was able to know what to expect. But then again, the show is on FX which is run by FOX. What did you expect? Also, did anyone else notice that the bit where someone pinches his stomach and says "the fat's really coming off" didn't make the final cut of the show?

haha, i noticed they didnt put that in there. What they DID put in there was a bit about him "losing 11lbs in 20 days, as well at 15% bodyfat...and taking 12 seconds off his swim time."

what conservative media outlets are you refering to?

I know of one special on FOX News ( which is far more balanced than other news outlets) that was filled with PH/AAS hysteria but that is nothing compared to the torrent by CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, etc... Hell, ALL these guys have a history of making news up.

Might I remind you that it was Joe "Plagarist" Biden (D) who led the charge to ban PH's and he's waaaaaay out there on the left with nutcases like Dean and Turbin Durbin.

I'm just saying both sides are guilty. Our president felt that steroids in baseball was worthy of a mention in the State of the Union.

What a crock of **** that was. I actually believed Spurlock would do a better show. I'm betting the media will start making claims of how bad supps are for your liver now because that idiot was on way too many supps and his liver was getting fucked up and I can't believe why he would put up with such a bitch.

Did anyone else notice that the doctor specifically said that 2 enzymes were abnormal. I'd bet a ton of money it was AST and ALT which as all of us know can be grossly elevated for any number of reasons, not least of which EXERCISE. That's why enzyme tests can be misleading. GGT is the only one which is even remotely reliable as an indicator of your liver working overtime.

THat guys wife was so damn jealous of the cardio trainer...that is why she was so pissed about him not having "family time". Worried that her guys is going to run off with this chick who is in excellent shape...that will piss any guy off when his wife gets all pissy like that. Jealousy is a bitch ans so was his wife.

Agreed the show was very slanted. I bet the docter mentioned many of the things about low sperm count or such and it being completely reversible, but I bet it did not make it to the show for the fact that it would make this an expected effect instead of a total shock to the family, which makes good TV.

Everyone needs to take in the account the reasons they are so worried is they don't completely know that elevated liver values are exactly the worst thing in the world. Its not good, but usually very reversible in a short amount of time.

I also noticed the part about "the fat is really coming off" did not get put on. I hate it when they advertise parts of a show that are not in it. It annoys be a lot.

This had nothing to do with the liberal Media or any type of political issue.
Steroid use and the demonizing of it is a bi-partisian effort and has more to do with ignorance of the subject than what political party they are.

Well, that's why I was saying that this POS should've done his own research and found out everything that would've arisen. I agree that there was some jealousy on the wife's part IRT to the trainer but the trainer was pretty fucking rude. I was like "Simmer down, honey. You already got the job." I think he was correct in putting her in her place but I feel he should've done the same thing to his shrew of a wife.

I think the guy took overtraining to a whole new level. I mean no wonder his wife was bitching. Seems like thats all he did was exercise for at least 4 hours a day!. I mean I am guessing here, but when exercise gets in the way of other daily activities, and life in general, its time to cut back!. This guy goes from taking nothing to taking 42 pills a day. He goes from no exercise at all to exercising what it seemed like 3-4 hours EVERY DAY!. No wonder he got upset so much. He also seemed to be uneducated in every supplement he was taking. I don't think it was all his fault though. I think the producers of the show just told him, you will take this, do this, etc....Not sure exactly how that works...

FX is a part of Fox buddy...

Had to wait and watch the show tonight.

I agree w/ pretty much everyone else in this thread.

1st off, 30 days isn't really long enough to see huge changes. 12 weeks would've been much better, but that would go against the show's theme. His goals were rediculous. Go from overweight middle-aged guy to fit college kid in 30 days? Right...

Spurlock did nothing to show supps in a positive light. He talked to the old women and the 17yr old's parents, who I'm sure were totally unbiased.

The guy's frickin wife(basically his mommy :whip: ) should've never been on the show.

His anti-aging doc looked like a total quack. Whether he really is or not is impossible to know. If he really didn't tell them of the possible side effects, he should not be practicing.

I would've done my homework if I were him, but damn you'd think you'd be in good hands by seeing at least 3 different doctors repeatedly.

It seems he would've been much better off by just going to his personal weight trainer (Bob). I think that would've made a much better show.

I realize it would probably bore the casual viewer, but I woud've liked to know exactly how many supps he was taking and in what amounts, his training schedule, and his diet.
