General Supplement Cocktail Question

Dear All,

I am new to this forum and have a couple of questions for you experts.

I am 24 years old (today) and currently weigh a little less than 200 pounds at 5’9”. I would like to get to about 185 pounds while trying to lose fat, become more lean, and gain bulk up top (not in my legs). I am short and stocky so I am trying to keep up top large but still try to fit in my pants. Ideally, I would like my thighs, abs, and chest to become more lean while adding bulk in calfs, traps, and all arm muscles.

Currently, I lift and do cardio 5 days a week. Additionally, I am training for a half marathon and sprint class triathlon, so I will be doing lots of additional cardio in the next couple of months.

I would like to get on some supplements to help give me an edge. I am not a novice lifter but a new to this area of training. After doing some research, I came up with a list of the following products:
• Ultimate Nutrition Tribulus (pills, testosterone booster)
• Primaforce ZMA (pills, recovery)
• Ergopharm 6 OX/AX Hyperdrol X2/SNS Inhibit-E (pills, estrogen blocker)
• NO-Xplode (powder, mass)
• MuscleTech Hydroxycut Hardcore (pills, fat burner)
• Cobra (pills, testosterone booster among other things )
• A multivitamin

My questions are the following:
• Would these products be helpful?
• Have any of you experts heard of these products?
• Are there better ones than these (that are all legal of course)?
• Could I take them all or just some of them?
• What are the side effects of them (singly or combined with the others)?

Also, I do drink lots of water but am on occasion known to have a drink or to.

Ok..... before we get into the supps we need to check the diet. So you want to lose fat and gain muscle? join the club. Unfortunately, it doesn't really work like that. And the idea of gaining size in certain parts (your upper body) while leaning out other parts (your abs/legs) isn't going to happen. Have you ever seen a guy with a huge upper body and skinny legs? It doesn't happen. If you want to gain any mass at all, you are going to have to train your legs. From what it sounds like, you are going to want to lose fat. There isn't a single supplement out there that is going to lose fat for you. You need to have a clean diet and maintain a caloric deficit if you want to lose fat.

Head over to the nutrition/health or weight loss forums to look for more information before you start worrying about supps.

Now, just to critique your supplements, since I assume you have already bought them......
1.Tribulus is pretty worthless in my opinion. I have dosed it at 4-5g per day and noticed zero results. Most people will tell you it's garbage.... I would tend to agree, although you will always have a few people who swear by it.

2. Primaforce ZMA is good stuff.
3. I don't have any experience with that stuff, I doubt you'll need an AI.... someone else can weigh in on that.
4. NoXplode - Some people like it, I tend to believe it is very overrated and just loaded with caffeine. There are much more efficeint pre-workout products on the market. try Jp8 by Get Diesel, Jacked by USP labs or Ragnarok by MST
5. Muscle Tech is the biggest piece of **** company in the industry. don't support them. There are much better fat burners out there. (DCP, Leviathan reloaded, Recreate, ECA...etc.)
6. Cobra- never heard of it. I can just about guarantee you it sucks though.
7. Nothing wrong with a multi. Unless it's made by muscle tech.

Above all, get that diet in check..... (look into CKD)
 
Listen to Esox about the diet, its ALL about diet... 5-6 high protein meals a day... training hard and heavy is 2nd.

No Xplode in my opinion is OK, compared to others, it is garbage. Muscletech is garbage and a ripoff.

Don't forget fish oil, the best, cleanest and cheapest i've found is NOW super EPA. I take 2 pills 3x a day. If you don't know about fish oil, look it up, its the shat. AST multipro is a good vitamin but there are others. If you want a good natty test booster look into Activate xtreme (company is out of biz but you can still get it), 6-oxo is ok but too pricy IMO. I hear good things about mass fx but I haven't tried it. Honestly most of your ? can be answered by you just searching through the forums and reading. click 'search' and look up anything you're wondering about. good luck

oh and don't forget... if you diet isn't spot on, don't waste your money on supplements.

Anyone have any opinions on ti as a fat burner/metabolism booster?

Lcar works; but not what you want. Cheaper alternatives; see Leviathan Reloaded eg. but focus on diet & HIIT training.

Start with the basics, then add in a few products at a time. Don't believe everything you read; be a skeptic. Find out what works for you. Get a good multi & ZMA. Stock up tomorrow to cash in on the last day of NP sale. :D Invalid Link Removed
