Alan Wake 2 pc requirements dropped last week and the internet caught on fire. They are really hefty and people are not happy. I think ill be alright on my rig, but many have now chosen to play it on consoles instead of PC. It will be interesting to see when the benchmark tests drops.

Man this always happens, I’m convinced most “gamers” don’t actually play games they just live eternally online and complain. 😂

When control came out “low” settings were what ran on consoles and looked pretty good. They’ve always pushed kind of hard and things like low and medium are arbitrary, I’ll wait to be mad til it actually releases and we see (there have been some dumpster fire PC ports this year to be fair).

I maybe missed, what resolution are you playing at?
Yeah, the reddit for a game the week before release is always a **** show it seems.

Im running my rig on a 4k screen so i think it is 3840x2160 which means 2160p. So i might not be able to run any Ray Tracing on this. Ill let Geforce Experience recommend a setting and try that one out first. I only have a 60hz tv as well so it will imit framerate a little.

I use reddit for dayz, which btw is a 10 year old game. Imo old games blow away newer graphics intense , hate to say it "low skill" games but I agree with him in that case.

Look at ww2online. 20 year old game still thriving I beta tested and it was crap graphics but the pvp was is elite still going.

Whatever floats your boat right? I want to kill you steal your gear and make you cry. Sometimes it happens to me! Graphics are last in order of desire for me.

Been too nice out to game lately been going to the range shooting

Review embargo on Alan Wake 2 just dropped and it sits at a 89 on Metacritic. Gotta say im super hyped for tomorrow and the release!

Thank you! I just put it on medium and no ray tracing and it both looked and performed beautiful. I watched that video though, im sure coult tweak it. But sometimes plug and play is just as good.

Incredible game, just perfect for me. You play as two protagonists and can change whenever. Apparently both campaigns are of a similar length. I played all weekend on one protagonist and havent even finished her story yet. So game is giving me a lot of bang for its bucks.

FWIW I finished SM2 yesterday (not 100% just the story). Really enjoyed it, kind of sad its over. Got me super in the mood to binge some Spidey comics (Hickman is doing a new Ultimate Spider-man start of next year..).

Not sure where I want to go next, I don't have anything that is desperately calling to me. Probably finish Cyberpunk, then idk if I'll dive into some multiplayer games or maybe replay some older titles (tempted to do the Mass Effect Legendary Edition since it has been so long since the originals or maybe the Red Dead series again).

🙃
Im glad you enjoyed it.

The Mass Effect trilogy is one of my most memorable game play throughs of my life. I carried the save over between games and it actually FELT real. Tali'Zorah is still the best ingame romance ive experienced so far. But I havent played Baldurs Gate 3 and seems to have some freaky stuff going on.

I havent played Red Dead 2 but I enjoyed the first one.

Finished Alan Wake 2 with around 30 hours of playtime without trophy hunting.

Amazing game, GOTY for me without a doubt. I want to jump right back and replay it, but im holding of until they drop New Game + later this month (hopefully). The game had this 20 minute chunk that is the most memorable gaming moment of my whole gaming life i think. It blew me completely away. If you wanna watch it for yourself

I started on God Of War and I know its amazing but im still so hard in the Alan Wake world I have a hard time really enjoying it.

Ya, but considering how long it has been since GTA 5 dropped it isn't that long. :p

I am honestly not a huge GTA fan (I've played most of them though a bit) and am a little worried to see what this actually implements after how garbage the microtransactions in GTA online stuff is, but I am still interested. Just wish PC release was with the console release as well.
Yeah Ive played all of them as well, crazy to think the first came out in 1997. I never did try the GTA online stuff as to me it just looks like "messing around". Ive noticed that my gaming these days are more revolved around straight storylines. Before I was all about the open world stuff. Exploring, running of the beaten path etc. But these days I just want a tight story with good gameplay.

I dont know if anyone has followed the whole debacla around the game The Day Before. Well it has been a total **** show and yesterday it got released into early access and its getting slaughtered. It was supposed to be an Open World MMO Zombie Survivor but ended up being a shitty extraction game.

On a positive note Alan Wake 2 won some rewards and they even had Old Gods Of Asgard performing, which was awesome! Also they are releaseing NG+ on monday!!

I was waiting for that release just to see how bad it would be. 😂

TGA was too long I stopped watching to do other things so had to go back and check the announcements after.

I did see the GOW release, can’t wait to play.

You think so? Maybe it’s bc I’ve been playing resurgence, but I honestly felt like it hadn’t kicked in or something. Got a second on my first game because I got lost and killed in the gas because I didn’t know how to get up a certain hill 😆

Got a couple of wins and a couple more top 5s with double digit kills and I’ve played maybe 10 games? I think it helps I pretty much picked a few guns that already seem to be the meta though.
Well, that's the thing. The first 5-ish games I played were like that...it was great. Then it just started getting harder and harder until it's borderline unplayable now. It's like it's not SBMM for me, but if my KD ratio is 1, then I'm in a lobby with the minimum being 1, not the average.

I don't want that to all sound rude though! I hope it wasn't taken that way, they could probably tone it down a little, just think trying to keep a positive mindset can help, games should be fun. :)
Lol games should be fun. To the previous point, I don't know if it's SBMM but I can't explain it any other way. Played a couple hours this morning and again, got absolutely destroyed, whereas day 1, I had 5-11 kills every match and top 5 in every game. Average kind of player, but something changed it. The last couple matches today I played, it seemed like everyone was moving like old Verdansk: breaking-camera slide-canceling aim-assist-cranking nightmare. Glad I didn't buy mw3!

After a few more days and idk people are kind of cracked returning to Vondel and Ashika (probably since people are more familiar with them).

I think the bigger issue is that people already found the broken guns quite quickly and the level of brokenness is pretty bad.

It doesn't feel too different though, I've had some pretty rough server issues on some matches, but my performance has been about the same as I've gotten back into the groove.
It seems to have balanced out the past couple days. I can't explain it, but a big difference vs. last week's cheater nightmare.

So Fntastic just went up in smoke and The Day Before is now delisted on Steam. What a crazy story this is.

But it got me to download The Division 2 over the weekend. I played the first Division game to death, but when 2 came out I was burnt out on it. I played an open weekend of it but nothing more. I played a bit over the weekend and enjoyed it. Again im just doing the story, not running into every open door i see. But I enjoy the shooting and the mecanics of it.

Alan Wake 2 NG+ dropped this week so as soon as I have some gaming time I will be diving back into that.

Finished God of War Valhalla DLC. Was surprised how story heavy it was. I enjoy roguelites so it was pretty fun kind of mix up.

Not sure what I’ll play next might just bide my time for TLOU 2 remaster (haven’t ever played part 2).
Assassins Creed Valhalla was good too if you like viking lore.

So ive basically played The Division 2 since mid December. I only get to play on weekends but ive managed to hit end game and gotten a few builds together. There was a huge patch on the game today together with a new season. Im having fun so ill keep playing this until i dont.

Division 2 is great for a play through, early 2020 shutdown I was running a still making "hand sanitizer" and basically bingeing the game lol. The campaigns can be beaten fairly quickly, but there's a lot of other content that has some decent replayability.

Never got around to either division. Contemplated the second one a few times though.

Finishing up TLOU2 right now then there’s quite a few games releases I have my eyes on for soon.

I played Division 1 to death back in when that came out. So when Division 2 came out I was totally burnt out on it. But now, 5 years later im good to go. Its just a great game to play and just wonder around Washington and New York and explore. You dont even have to have a goal. There are always random events and other stuff that pops up.

But ive been running a bunch of multiplayer missions. Just join up with 7 others and wreck ****.

Yeah, it's probably an entirely different game playing with others. I love the game play, it just got a little redundant playing alone.

I'm in the same boat when it comes to limited gaming time nowadays. I barely have hours to sit down at a console, so I end up picking up games on my phone just because it’s easier when I’m out or have a few spare minutes at home. Forza is great though, and it’s kinda the only thing I play more regularly these days too. I keep picking up games on game pass, but most just sit there in my library.

If you ever want something different to pass the time, there are online games like iSabong Asia that you can jump into with just your phone or PC, and it feels way less of a commitment than big console titles.

I got back into gaming a couple years ago too after a long break, and it honestly felt really good dusting off the old hobby. Setting up a new gaming rig is always exciting, especially with so many great games dropping this year. I went back and played some older favorites first, like Witcher 3 and Hollow Knight, before getting into newer stuff like Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring. I get what you mean about Starfield, sometimes a big release just pulls you right back in.
When I started collecting games again, I ended up checking prices at a bunch of places to avoid overpaying for digital keys and DLC. Ended up using cdkeyprices for a lot of my finds, they make it easy to see which stores have the lowest prices for whichever platform you’re on, so I could stretch my budget a bit further.
