Functional Scoliosis from hypertrophy/lifting?

I had lower back pain for over a year, I went to PT for it and they thought it was a muscle strain. It didn't get better despite stretching and going lighter. I went back today and found out I have functional scoliosis in the middle of my spine (curves to the left) my doctor couldn't tell if it was because I had uneven hypertrophy in my back and one side was pulling my spine more than the other? Somehow it was changed over time through my muscles or lifting. I have to go see a physiatrist who will x-ray and assess me further for possible treatments. Anyone have experience with this or heard of this?
