I still believe you should do cardio though, do it year round and also only let your BF reach a certain level,

From all i've read when you are in a caloric surplus you are going gain some fat there is no way around it. You don't have to become a FAT SLOB on cookies and cake all day. But even eating clean your going to gain SOME fat.

Hey guys, quick question. Some of you guys are saying with bobos help. What or who is bobo? Thanks lol I was just feeling out of the loop.

:food: . . . Keep Eating.

Bobo is the the clown without a frown, the man with the plan, the yin to the yang, a sports nutritionist and site admin.

He's not currently taking on clients at the minute but you can find his business at Invalid Link Removed

I'll chime in, as I believe everybody is correct to a certain extent. As for protein consumption, I've read about pros on both ends, huge guys who eat 100 grams of protein when bulking, and somebody like Yates who ate 500 grams per day. So, yea, everybody will have a different response. As for protein being "wasted," it is true that the human body cannot store protein as such. If your body doesn't use it, it will lose it. However, protein is more thermogenic, that is it takes more energy to use protein as energy. In that respect, there is a "benefit" to higher protein. Also, the amount your body can use depends on many other things. When I first started this journey two years ago, I went on a "see food" diet. I gained 60 pounds, but plenty of fat. I cleaned up my diet and quickly dropped ten pounds of fat (not in a caloric deficit, however). My take on it is that if you follow the rules (like don't mix fats and carbs), your gains will be fairly lean.

how

As a kid I tried hard to put muscle on my ecto frame and pretty much ate what I wanted, Pizza, sodas, Pasta, And even weight gainers(at the time It was mega mass UHH). As I matured my muscle matured but I only built more shape and tone and remained low body weight. After a few yrs of training and learning. I swithed up my morning and post-workout meal to high fats mostly from safflower. Sometimes I would add 7-8 heaping tablespoons of olive oil In my post-workout shake. After switching my macros I was able to add lean body mass and increase the density of my well shaped ecto-body And altering it to a ecto-meso.
I strongly believe all people can slide one way but never permenant. ETC>endo-meso, or ecto meso. The mostblessed body would of course be a true meso. Flex-wheeler is another example of a ecto-meso. You see meso's can be both meso&ecto but I dont see why one would wish to become an meso-endo *(unless for bulking during the off-season)*.
At the end nothing is impossible you just have to know some of the fundamentals on the roles of nutrition on the human body.

how can you "heap" a tablespoon of olive oil?

Surface tension, of course!

I would probably not drink pure oil in a shake tho, sounds pretty nasty. I usually use it as the dressing for pasta.

Is this a rhetorical question?!

If you read the post just above mine, dude talked about "heaping tbsp of olive oil." I was just commenting on the obvious problem with that statement. You can't "heap" a tbsp of a liquid in the conventional sense. Obviously, the man was just being dramatic. I have put olive oil directly into shakes during mass gain phases though. It isn't that bad, and since it is so calorically dense, it is easy to add a bunch of healthy calories without a lot of volume.

I do not understand this entire lean bulking philosophy/ Unless you are using illegal substances or prohormones 90% of the population has to gain fat to gain muscle. There is no such thing as lean bulking everyone in the world wants to gain muscle w/o fat but thats not reality for most people. Stop with this senseless topic.

If your eating enough to gain muscle your eating enough to gain fat.
If your eating little enough to lose fat your not not eating enough to build muscle.

If you can't handle the fact you'll gain some fat then why are you bothering?

if you really want to grow, just keep eating, fat isnt impossible to lose, just clean up the diet when you are a hardgainer, thats the beauty of the genes!
