Franchising

Has NP ever though of opening up franchise stores? Most products that can be purchased online aren't carried by supp stores (GNC, Max Muscle, Complete Nutrition, etc.). Also, NP carries items that are pennies on the dollar compared to these stores, and although most of them offer price matching for online purchases, I rarely see anybody utilize it. None of these businesses sell anything in bulk either, other than their own brand of protein. I realized the risk vs. reward is rather lopsided, but even though I know a lot of people that will only order from websites (like myself), if you aren't an internet research junkie, it's very likely you don't know about NP.

franchising would kill the prices. I run a business and having a store front, or fronts, is very expensive. I am in a small town and for a good store front building that has a lot of traffic passing by is anywhere from 3K to 10K a month. Then you factor in employees, insurance and multiple other factors, the price benefits you see with online ordering would not be there. I mean really a lot of these products have anywhere from $1 to $5 profit. With a profit margin that low you have to move a lot of product to make money. Giants like GNC have astronomical purchasing power direct from manufacturers that other dont. I am not saying it isnt possible, but it is difficult

Bigbeef hit it on the head. If we franchised kiss all the sweet deals goodbye and we'd be another GNC :(
