for those of you who ride [motorcycles]...

I've always been too paranoid to leave my helmet with my motorcycle when I park it, but I always see other riders doing this. Most of them don't even lock it to the bike.

Considering all the hoodlums and numbskulls out there, I'm surprised their helmets don't either get stolen or knocked off the bike onto the ground.

...yes, I think very lowly of how the human race conducts themselves in parking lots. Don't even get me started on gotdamnned door dings....

For those of you who leave your helmet with your bike, how long have you been doing this, and has anything ever happened to your helmet?

I always leave my hemet on the bike. It's just a black half shell (about $49), but it's fairly new. No one has ever toched it. I've parked by bike on Main Street in Daytona during Bike Week and also during Biketoberfest. I'd walk away and be gone for hours, and never had a problem. I guess it really depends on where you are though. Also I ride a Harley. People are usually smart enough not to mess with something that belongs to a Harley rider.........

On every café style that I know of, they have a area where you can lock your helmet to the bike. I have been doing this for over 10 years now and never had a problem.

A lot of those guys (myself included) probably have accessory coverage on their insurance policy. It would cover a stolen helmet.

Insurance? What the hell is that? HAHAHHA

im glad to see this topic, i just started riding again and am never exactly sure what to do with my helmet, so if it's my beater i leave it and if it's my (wifey's) good one she carries it.

I wouldn't leave a high dollar full face helmet unsecure though. When you're talking 300+ it's not something to leave behind. 60 dollar half helmet is another story.

i never used to leave my helmet on my bike always took it in.... so what happens.... they decide to steal my bike instead... true story.. wasnt happy
