How do you stay motivated.
As some of u might now I moved to oregon abt a month ago and I'm starting my own business in carpet cleaning. And some days I'm really motivated and other days I'm not. I jst feel like this isn't gonna work. But I stick it out and advertise anyways.
I guess what I'm trying to get at is how do u guys make it work? For the people that own there own business how long was it before you guys were sucessful or at least busy??

Well bro :

As soon as you take that leap and become self employed EVERYTHING comes second !
Your new career allways has to come 1st.
Thats prob the hardest part specially if you are married -kids- whatever.
They have to understand that this is # 1.
Its scary when you 1st start off mainly becuase now guess what....you cant blame anyone else if you screw up !!!
So all I can say bro is keep focus on your long term goals. Keep telling yourself why you did this and why all the sacrifice and hard work is worth it.
I hope the best for ya brother, stay on it !

Feeding my wife and child and paying bills keeps me motivated. If there wasn't any of that in my life I would just work when I wanted to and travel a hellva lot.

I am part owner in a tile installation and tile/grout cleaning business. I can tell you one thing, the economy in this field is not helping you right now, especially in the summer time. Expenses like this are last on peoples mind...granted we are still doing fine but are basically advertising twice as much to get the same amount of jobs.

Can you pay your bills? Are you still you're own boss? If so, keep plugging away...its not easy..if it was, everyone would be doing it. One month is nothing...I still get calls from advertisements I ran 4-5 months ago....throw all the money you can into more advertising...make a name for yourself.....and repeat, repeat, repeat....

And remember, its a service based business...you need to go above and beyond what Stanley Steamer is offering in both quality and customer service.

Thanx to every1

I mean I'm getting more busy little by little like yesterday I had a job made 50$ for abt 1 hour of work today I had a job and tomorrow I have 2 jobs.
I'm always hard on myself abt thing I mean I guess I should be happy with how things are going but I don't think I'm doing enough.

I don't really have to pay bills. I live with my pops right now. (He rich as f**k.
He owns a night club over here a mechanic shop, like 3 apartment complexs, and a property management company. He actually teaching me a lot, he's giving me the knowledge to work but not the work haha.
But I am actually proud to say that all the jobs I've gotten so far are becuz of my hard work. And my plans for the future are starting a home inspection company.

realize its either you on your own or working for "the man."

thats pretty motivational right there

Choosing to get into a business I could see being my hobby. In other words, if it's a passion, then it won't feel like work.
