The point of a strip set is to push a muscle past the point of failure. Once failure has been reached during a standard set, the weight is dropped and immediate reps begin again until failure. These can be done multiple times in a row with the end goal being to maximize work, time under tension, and create maximum pump and muscle engorgement. These sets are meant to push a muscle to a place it could not go with normal sets and therefore cause more damage and create more opportunity for growth stimulus.
