food after cardio

i was just wondering what would be the best types and amounts of carbs/fats/protien for after cardio to replenish my muscles, while losing fat still. fast carbs, slow carbs, what type of of food?

what do you eat after cardio?

Spiking insulin is unnecessary (especially if you are eating before your cardio). Glycogen stores will be resynthesized at the same rate so unless you are doing another exhausting exercise later in the day oats will suffice (there will be some difference in rate if you are fasted but I still don't see any benefit with fast acting carbs). When cutting I want to keep my blood glucose levels stable an non fluctuating, so the oats are my preference for post workout nutritions no matter what I am doing (lifting, cardio, lifting+cardio, bulking, cutting...).

would brown rice be chill instead of oats.. i dont see y there would be a problem.

I think the galactose in the skim milk wouldn't be the best idea, maybe?

I don't fair well with oatmeal or skim milk because of some gluten issues and dairy issues. I get bloated.

I am not fully versed on galactose. I know it is apart of lactose (with glucose being the other monosacharide [sp?]) but don't know much about its effect on the body. Why would it be a bad idea? Most of the stuff I have seen on milk for fat loss has been mixed, but I know post resistance training it truly does wonders for me in the muscle gain/fat loss department. However I will tapper off overall intake of dairy pretty substantially towards the latter stages of cuts.

Thats rough on the gluten issues man, I love me my quaker banana bread oatmeal (and whole wheat bagels). So what do you do for your carb sources? Stick to gluten free products or can you get by with just a little in the food?

Maybe it's just the way I react to milk and such... I told my buddy to stop the skim milk in his shakes and he looked leaner just after a couple days.

I love oatmeal and wheat and all that other good stuff, but I'd get tired to the point that I'd want nothing more than to lay down and pass out afterwards. I'd beat myself up over it and think there was something wrong with me! LOL.

I love rice [brown and long grain white for slower burning carbs and sticky sushi rice for a fast absorbing carb source (usually pre P-Slin source)], I love rice cakes, bananas, gluten free hot cereal, and all Ezekiel products (gluten is destroyed during the sprouting process).

Yea a lot of people have very minor allergies to milk (that can produce very subtle reactions) so when its taken out it can really change up peoples ability to lean out and overall feelings. I am literally a skim milk junkie and should probably take in less than I do, but then again I am a junkie :D.

Ezekiel products are awesome. I only use the Ezekiel bread atm but the products are high quality.

Hell yes OCCFan! I recommend Ezekiel to every single one of my clients that are in it to lean out.

Just eat clean man. Slow digesting carbs, good amount of fiber, some good fats, and a quality source of protein. Be sure to eat something. The thermic effect of food is much higher when you eat directly after a workout or cardio session.
