First log - Msten/Triumphalis

Not even gunna lie, I do squats for reps of 10 with all I have, usually die on rep 6 - 7 and force the rest. If I can make it through 4 sets of X amount of weight, next week I add 5-10 lbs until I conquer that. Then keep going up.

After 4 sets, I can barely walk.

Try this.

Squats (I start with 4 plates) atg to failure, then strip off 45 and go (no rest), etc, till you're only lifting the bar.

Rest 60 sec then do the same thing with deadlift from 5 plates.

Then same deal with leg press from 10 plates.

Then seated calves from 5 plates.

If you can walk after that you're pretty legit. My former teammate who plays for the cowboys puked before the end of the squat drop set.

The squats alone would gas me.
Deadlifts after, no way lol

That's why I split my deads n squat days.
To be honest tho, I'll give it a go.
I've never done squats n deads in the same day.
Deads n squats tommorow, I'll let you know how it goes.

It's only 4 sets, how hard can it be? ;)

i just like to make sure i get each targeted muscle and know i do better with more volume and slow controlled reps. when i go heavier i lose my form bad but im gonna try upping the weight and intensity more on monday. decrease rest times etc. i train with a partner is the only kinda annoying part so maybe i'll just toss a super set or two in

There's nothing wrong with high volume; jay cutler trains that way, it's just that if you say stuff like " I didn't want to leave@ you're obv not training hard enough.

I hear you bro. I like high volume myself, but I hate spending so much time in the gym. I usually go heavy to start on compound and do drop sets or high reps at the end with the dumbells or machines. Depends on how I feel, I'll even split my session up on weekends. Do deadlifts or squats at home, and finish off at the gym later that day. That way I put 100% in on the compound lifts I really wanna focus on.

Just to be clear; HIT isn't for everyone. You need perfect form to avoid injury. Even dorian yates had a bunch of injuries towards the end of his olympia reign despite popping 50 IU or whatever of GH.

I was just thinking about that. I'm coming off letro and my joints are tender. Not to sure about trying this now lol

Edit: Sorry for jacking your log, I'll start a new thread.

Take a look at my log, some of my workouts might be a fun change of pace.

HIT training is a great way to break past plateaus IME

i know i pretty well bailed on this log but today was my last day so incase anyone wants to know how this combo worked out my stats:

weight: 198 lbs (+13lbs)
b.f : 11-12% (i think my first measured b.f was off cause i leaned out a fair bit and my new trainer did callipers and this is accurate)
bench: 255 reps
squat: 335 ass to grass for reps
deadlifts: 345 reps (didnt focus as much on this lift so dont think i pushed my limits)

now entering my first day of pct. time to get emotional!
(on a side note though.. clomid made my tongue numb... weirddd)
