Finasteride - Long term side effects

Hello,

I have read a few posts about people on here who have quit finasteride only to find out they have persisting low libido.

I am in this boat myself, I took finasteride for about 5 months, shortly after I started taking it i noticed my sex drive radically diminished, to the point were i don't feel anything when I see an attractive girl. I persisted taking it thinking my hormones would adjust, they never adjusted, they just got worse. I quit taking this drug about 6 months ago and still have a very very low sex drive. I am 26 yrs old, exercise regularly and eat very healthy. I was totally fine before taking this drug.

Has anyone been through this and recovered?
 
I have been on it for 3 weeks now, and I have no drop in libido, but I now have 2 small lumps in my left nipple. So it seems that I'm getting gyno from propecia. This sucks , because my hair has stopped sheding.

have you tried taking a good test booster yet?

It's from increased E2. You need an AI.

It only took 3 weeks to see results? Usually you shed more for the first 2 months, as the baby hair falls out, and coarser hair grows back. That's what causes the hair to thicken -- a dead follicle isn't resurrected. So I've read. Good for you if you saw results that quickly. Not raining on your parade.

Do you think a serm would work? I have a bottle of toremifene on hand, as well as a bottle of Novedex XT. I don't have any new growth, but my sheding has stopped. Maybe its because I have been on Viril Mane for 5 months, and it is working synergisticly with the propecia. Its only been less than 3 weeks, so I might start the sheding again.

It would be good to get some blood tests done so you would have more than just a guessing to act on.

I suggest these tests, if the list is too long, at least do the bolded.

Did you ever feel an increase in libido when taking it? I have heard that about 10% find an increase in libido, (because it raises Test,) while about 2% experience loss.

I'm wondering because I have been applying a topical fin. for almost 2 weeks. The first week I actually felt a jump in libido.
 
some peoples libido rises, be very carefull taking that stuff, there seems to a lot of people with permanent issues, so be very very carefull. That 3% is BS.
