You need to look at the underlying pathology in order to determine what steps would be needed in order to correct the problem at the root cause. In younger guys your age low T is a symptom of the cause and not the actual cause of how you are feeling. further evaluation of proper testing needs to be explored. In my thread Lab testing getting to the root cause there will be good guidelines in there to start off with. In younger guys its most likely poor lifestyle choices which are the factor I tend to find in these cases. Once resolved the body will rebalance its self over time when proper corrections are made

You might also want to consider getting tested for Sleep Apnea. For years, I felt EXTREMELY tired when I got up. No matter if I had 3 hours of sleep or 15. If you have ever been awake for 24-30-40-50 hours straight, and had your head buzzing, cloudy thinking, skin crawling, etc. That was how I felt for several years, every single day. When I finally broke down and went to a doc (I am the type that would rather die on the street than go to a hospital) I got a sleep apnea dx, and two treatments: 1) provigil. 2) oral appliance. With the provigil, after three days, I was "cured" from the buzzing head, etc. It has been 4 months now, and I feel fine in that respect. I still have tons of other issues, but the "constantly feeling dead tired" does not exist anymore.

provigil helps with the tired symptom, but does nothing for the problem. i need both. like a broken arm... vicodin can get rid of the pain, but you still need the cast. hopefully once the cast is off, you can stop the drugs. i HATE taking meds.

Wait a sec before you start running off getting a sleep apnea machine.
Matrix said you need to look at pathology. That is not far off, but what you need to look at is your sleep hygiene.
Meaning, what are you doing before sleep and your environment.

Why are you up til 1 am ? How long have you been keeping that pattern?
Are You exercising in the evening?
You consuming caffeine or sugary drinks in the evening?
Are you watching tv, playing video games or staring at a computer screen while your brain is thinking these light sources as daylight , which in turns start producing more chemo responses to keep you awake. Daylight = awake state. Dark light= sleep / shut mode.

How dark is your room? Have a lot of electronics on? Lots of little lights glowing red?
Have Curtins? Or blinds? Does any outside light get through?

Room warm cold? Hot? How old is your pillow? Last time you washed it? How about the covers? - Linens harbor mites and dust which interfer with sleep cause your inhaling dust .

Are you eating high carbs before sleep? So in the middle of the nite, your blood sugar crashes and your brain wakes you to keep you from dying?
Are you drinking a lot fluid before going to bed and your bladder wakes you cause it's full?
Drinking alcohol in before bed? Smoking dope?
Your t is low because your sleep pattern is a mess. T is made mostly at night... Starting to see a pattern here?

A lot of things that YOU need to look at before resorting to medication.

Regarding sleep apnea... If your neck size is bigger than 17 inches and waist is bigger than 44 inches... It's unlikely you have sleep apnea....not say its impossible just unlikely.

He has to go for a sleep study before being diagnosed with sleep apnea. You don't just run out and purchase a CPAP machine, it doesn't work that way. Insurance pays for it. At least I would hope they would cover it.

You would be surprised how many people self diagnose themselves, go on Craigslist buy a machine Some else's Pressure settings. Then wonder why they popped a lung and end up in hospital with a chest tube to reinflate the lung. Why? "cause I don't like doctors and medical bills". Oh really. .. Ambulance ride, emergency room visit, surgical procedure, 5 days in hospital with daily chest X-ray Sounds like a cheap deal to me.

What other suppliments do you take? I had the same symptoms but was a heavy stimulant user for years with little to no breaks. I went stimulant free from pre-workout supps and ECA stacks and now I am starting to feel much better. I took some ZMA and Revamp as well which helped with my sleep; I think the magnesium in the ZMA gives me very vibrant dreams but I definately sleep better on it.

Just a thought before you go down the test road...check your diet and suppliments you take; cycle off stimulants for a while.

Before recommending supplements on needs to know a lot more information of really what is it you are really dealing with before stabbing at things in the dark.

Stop fruitlessly trying to solve this kids problem. All he said is he was tired when he woke up. I've been tired when I've woken up before as I'm sure everyone has been. People need to stop trying to be doctors and diagnose what is wrong with people on an internet message board. It is ridiculous.

I think what I said might have been said/interpreted wrong. Really it was more of a step back and look at what supplements the OP is on and what their diet looks like; not to go buy ZMA / Revamp. Investigating ones diets and workout is free and super easy; doctors are not.

Anyways I am stepping out now. Have a good day Matrix...

Its not diagnosis, it called asking logical question which people do not do to. Not playing DR. It's being smart and keeping the well fare of the person at hand instead of just blowing farts in the wind. Txaggie my point exactly, common sense is the most over looked solution..

Masturbation has been show to alter neurotransmitters, along with depletion on zinc, selenium. These minerals are crucial for proper of enzymatic reactions involved in hormonal and neurological pathways. This is the type of information which is crucial to helping to pin point possible imbalance. By over masturbation you are putting your body into a constant stress response which is over stimulating the sympathetic nervous system which produces catcholamines. Depending on what stage you are in will determine the proper approach to get the proper out come. Your adrenals are probably pumping out NE at a high rate which is causing your inability to sleep at night due to the constant stress being placed upon the body which would fall under category of proper lifestyles and may be a psychological imbalance. One needs to ask what is causing the behavior of why you are mastubating so much? The answer to this question could reduce the action which will allow the source of the stress to be addressed. Again you need to keep digging to get to the proper information which will allow evenutaul change the whole out come of what approach to taken. i have seen people who have masturbated have low serum zinc, selenium which may cause alteration in thyroid as well as adrenal stress response. I hope this information was helpful.

So areas of focus one may want to focus on.

1. What is driving you to excessive masturbate? - anxiety, lack of control, inability to tolerate stress, ect, addicted to porn?
2. lifestyles/ nutritional aspects - having current issues in relationships?, stress at work or school, ect, excessive stimulant use or other recreation drugs? - are you eating balanced or fast food or processed.
3. neurotransmitters - Are you have excessive NE or adrenaline rushes before sleep, during the day. Masturbation is a SNS vs when some one gives it to you PNS.
4. Adrenals - Tiger tooth tiger is out of the cage all the time --need to catch him by resolving the source of the issue.
5. Thyroid
6. Hormones.

You could be having a delayed response to hidden inflammation from food allergies.
