If you're like me then you love doing HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). But for most of us, doing the same thing gets boring and we try to switch it up if possible. The purpose of this thread is to post your favorite types of HIIT training. Lets try to get some crazy ideas/ suggestions going too!

Ok, I'll start: My favorite is boxing balls to the wall on the bag for 45 secs and the jog lightly in place /jump rope for 1 min.... My 2nd fav. is the good old fashioned elliptical machine going all out for 45 and then slow it down for a minute.

Field work. 50 yard back peddle right into 50 yard sprint forward. Walk back to starting point and start up again.

the treadclimber machine at my gym lets me more or less program tabata sprints on it. I set the low time for 2mph with no swing of treads for 1:30, and high for 4mph with max tread height for 30

today i hit the bag in 3 min intervals.... 1 min jump rope in between for a 15 min workout.
then to the treadmill walking 50 yrads sprinting 50 yards for 20 min
then to the bike for a 15 min. uphill for 1 mile then cutting it back gradually...

Tabata on the elliptical is brutal, but a great workout. I usually follow it up with 20-30 minutes of bag work/abs.

I also like doing pyramids on the elliptical.

30/30/60/60/90/90/60/60/30/30 all with 60-90 second rest intervals.

Hiit

I warm for 5-8 min. then run at 50% for 1 min. then sprint for 20 sec. and repeat for 25 min. then a 10 min cool down (I cramp real easy so I cool down longer) 3x per week.

My standard is stationary bike sprints. Warm up for 5 minutes and the 15 minutes of 15 second sprints at level 12 with 45 second recoveries at level 10. Burns the hell out of my glutes.
