Fat loss insan1ty with Sup3r-11 and Ignit3

You just motivated me to go calculate my bmr, and using 4 different calculators I got between. 1650-1785 as a bmr. So, 2100 calories may be right around maint. If you figure I burned about 300 calories (about 220 extra) and the rest of my daily activity.

Of course, factor in metabolic slow down and I'm burning less than 1000 calories a day now. Lol, sorry, I am a jerk

Better calculating twice, before doing a bulk without knowing, LOL.

I loooove that calculator too! 2976kcal for maintenance!!! Party!
LMAO!

What calculators do you recommend as accurate?

What calculators do you recommend as accurate?

Mirror

Edit:
Elaborating a bit more... Found that calculators give only an idea but are not correct. In my case, I guess my maintenance is at around 2300kcal. Tried with calculators before and all my cuts turned into recomps, figured I had to be much lower in maintenance.

And how does the mirror tell you what your maintenance calories are? Or, do you mean trial and error until you get the results you're looking for?

At least for me....
Recomping was awesome, but was not my intention.

1st calculator is spot on for me (2343). 2nd one is a bit low (2145). If you track your food close enough I just go by average weigh-in and the changes every 1-2 weeks. Calculators give you a rough estimate. I aim low and start shooting towards it steadily until my weight stabilizes.

Today's weigh in:

Bodyweight: 177.1
Aria Bodyfat %: 21%
Waist: 38"

Not too bad, since I just had a refeed.

As for the calculators - keep in mind there is a difference between BMR, RMR and Maintenance. BMR is your metabolic burn if you just sit around and do nothing, and that's what I was saying was being calculated at around 1700 calories/day. Add in some metabolic functions and digestion, and you get RMR. Add in daily activity and exercise and that will tell you more what your maintenance is. So, for me, if my activity level burns an additional 400 calories/day, then my maint. will be around 2,100 calories.

That first calculator that KAPrice listed gave maint., not BMR or RMR. My fitbit has been routinely coming in around 2500 calories on inactive days and 3000-3200 calories when I am more active. The nice thing about the first KAPrice calculator is that you can click the advanced settings and see how different formulas calculate your TDEE.

But, at the end of the day, if you eat the same thing over and over again, and track your weight, you can always backtrack from there and get a very accurate estimate of your expenditure. For instance, if you eat 1,000 calories per day and lose 2 pounds over the week, you know you ate 7,000 calories and burned 7,000 calories of bodyweight = 21,000 calories/week to maintain, or 3,000 calories per day. Obviously this would be high for most of us, but I just plugged numbers in to make the math easy.

oh, yeah, Kaprice and hairygrandpa - not sure you caught it. 10 reps with 175 on the bench press last night. I'll get at least 9 with 180 tomorrow. I hope you are picking up the game KAPrice, I'm not going to make it easy for you, but I expect you to catch me!

hairygrandpa - I think the more frequent training at what I would call a slight reduction in intensity and constant progression is paying off. My bench is definitely a weak point for me and so far, I'm seeing pretty consistent progress with my modified HST style program.

Good to see your efforts bare fruits!

Going to do your "lazy" approach (slightly modified) for my cut from now on, doing 1 set + 1 rp set per exercise, upping weights once per week.
Later in when recomping it will be 2 sets of each exercise+1 rp set for lagging muscles, upping weights each gym day.

We are all switching to HST, lol.

Like you have said, more than one road to Rome. Honestly, it is funny because I used to go to the point if such immense effort that the weight would fall on me and pain was part of the game. With the diet, that has been put in check a little because EOF the lower energy, but with HST I'm really not even going to failure sometimes. If I get my reps I just stop. My goal is to increase every workout and I've pretty much been seeing that. I got 9 reps on the 80 pound barbell curls and honestly, I don't think I've ever done more than 8 with 80 pounds - and I think part of my not getting 10 was just that I was actually tired and that was my last set.

The idea of making the stress chronic is a tool that seems to be working. Buy I am still managing intensity and volume to allow for recovery. The HST setup is a good mix.

Yooo fukk it your doing good bro !!! We can oil each other down on the board walk sometime !!!

Today's diet has been tighter. I've had 2 oz. Of beef jerky, 2 scoops cafe select in coffee, 1 muscle milk, 4 oz. Salmon and a protein pudding. Totals: 820 calories, 135 grams protein.
hairygrandpa is starting a 6 week cut right now and told me he would like to lose 18 pounds. It just turns out that I figure I need to lose 18-20 pounds and I've been stalled. So HGP threw down the challenge. We are both going to try to do what it takes to lose 20 pounds in the next 6 weeks.

To prepare for this, I went for a jog/walk tonight. My fitbit claims I ran 3.14 miles and burned 445 calories.

How did your day go Hairygrandpa?

Pinned a lot of stuff, did a good workout and ate under 800kcal, no carbs (!). The DMAA+Ephedra is suppressing appetite nicely!

26lbs to go ...... But I'm focusing now on maintaining for the next 6 weeks or so......

Translation:

"I'm fat but I lack motivation. LOL"

When you start in 6 weeks, at least have a log going, promise? ... With nudez, please!

I couldn't keep up with you guys!

26lbs to go on an almost 3 year diet. But I'm focusing now on maintaining for the next 6 weeks or so then it's gonna be all out - got my next cycle and pct all stashed and ready.

All I see is excuses! Haha. Jump on in. I started 4 years ago and have been doing PSMF off and on for 18 months. You don't have to do what we do, if you have another way. The goal is what matters - 6 weeks, 18 pounds.

Do you have that in you? How far have you come? What are you waiting for?

Today's Weigh In:
Bodyweight: 176.8
Aria Bodyfat %: 18.9%
Waist: 38"

Like I said in another log. As far as I am concerned, I've already lost the 18 pounds. It is gone. Mind is made up, it's as good as done. Who is coming with?

Thanks hairygrandpa for reigniting the fire and getting me off my ass. I'm even adding in some cardio now. You are in trouble Hairygrandpa. Has your doctor done a physical and cleared you for this? I don't want any old folks getting hurt doing this

No excuses - this is what works for me:4-5 months on a deficit; 6-8 weeks maintenance; then back to 4-5 months on a deficit. Either way I eat super clean and have yet to miss a workout.
But watch your backs - I WILL catch up! ;)

18 lbs in 6 weeks will be impressive. Good luck. Is there a wager? Loser posts nudes?

Harry Grandpa chose the penalty for losing -- fapping to naked pic of Hillary.

There's something seriously wrong with HG!

If its a penalty to fap to a pic of Hillary, something is wrong with Hillary -not with HG!

Good point. Noted. But there is something wrong with HG anyway.

Can we substitute Ted Bundy for Hillary? I don't think he has killed as many Americans.

It does that always while wanking...

You got me. How about this tonight:

Squats
1 x 8 x 185 warm up
1 x 10 x 245

Straight Legged Deadlifts
1 x 10 x 235

Pull Ups
1 x 10 x bw + 10 pounds

Bench Presses:
1 x 8 x 95 warm up
1 x 10 x 180

Military Presses
1 x 10 x 95

Rope Face Pulls
1 x 10 x 60

Rope triceps press down:
1 x 7 x 40
1 x 4 x 40

Barbell curls
1 x 10 x 80

I followed that with a 70 minute session on the stationary bike. The bike says I burned 600 calories. The fitbit says I burned 800. I also didnt start the fitbit until I already burned 100 calories on the bike (forgot)

Anyway you cut it, I burned more working out than I ate today.

I had 2 oz. Beef jerky, 1 muscle milk, 1 scoop cafe select in coffee, 7 oz. Fish, 4 oz shrimp, 1 bag broccoli and a scoop of modern protein post workout. Total of about 950 calories and 160 grams protein.

Lol, sorry man, but you are closer than you think. I am gonna give you my best and I still expect you to catch me. I know you got it.

Beat that, Greenhorn!

It sounds like you're doing a lot of relaxing, and not fighting a war on phospholipids.

Today's morning weigh in:
Bodyweight: 175.8 pounds
Aria Bodyfat %: 19.6%
Waist: 37.75"

That's a pound less than yesterday morning. I plan on ending this competition in 3 weeks, not 6. (ok, now I'm just talking tough)

Kaprice, you aren't going to be happy when I bench 185 X 10 on Saturday either.

I feel you on my heels.

Today was a day off from the weights. But I've got fat to lose and smack to lay down on hairygrandpa . So I got on the bike again and burned about 650 calories at lower intensity, which took almost 80 minutes and when I finally finished I could barely stand, lol.

Diet has been 3 oz. Beef jerky, 1 scoop Select Cafe, 7 oz. Fish, 1 bag broccoli and I am going to have a protein pudding in a little while. Totals for the day: 820 calories, 128 grams protein.

Damn, where did you get the motivation from? Meth? :)
I felt bad today, low blood sugar I guess... no cardio but did weights.

I got it from some hairy old fugger who kicked my butt into gear.

I actually may have overdone it. Feel just barely sick now, lol.
