Fantasy Baseball 2009

Couple of guys and I were at lunch today and the subject of hot dog eating came up. Somehow I said I could probably eat 12 hotdogs in 10 minutes... and everyone called bullsh*t..

So anyway, that's going down before our FFootball draft on August 25th.

I know you already set your lineup, but I'd still be ridin G-Dog (jones). What kind of hitters you have out there.

Yo man... What do you think about me shipping off Reimold and Hunter (TEX) for Joba?

Also, what do you think about my Reimold / Marte for Buckholtz and Wells trade? What if I could trade Reimold and Marte for Gallardo?

Same hitters as usual. Still riding G Dogg.

Joba is lights out when he is on...he looks like he is working fast now. I'd personally go for Reimold and Marte for Gallardo....Don't know if he would accept though. Gallardo would make your pitching staff absolutely sick...You'd be doing this to your opponents...:op:

I think he is down for the Buckholtz and Wells trade... he has to think about the Gallardo trade. If I could up the ante, you think its worth shipping off G Dawg or McLouth?

Joba is another team... I could offer it but it could f*ck up the other trade. Joba is also going to run into an inning limit - but I don't know how they are going to pull that off if they are anticipating a f*cking playoff run, especially with Dirty Sanchez as our #5 in NYC.
 
Tillman showed some poise tonight. Missed the win unfortunately.

How do you feel about Buck and Wells? Wells is f*cking lights out.
 
What I don't want... and what I have now... is an extensive pitching rotation that is devoid of any dominant pitcher...

I have the Carp... and that's really it. Next closest dominant is Hanson - and he's been on the fritz. Gallardo would be one of those beasts...

I have to pray that Dice and or Hudson come back like studs for the playoffs - otherwise I'm looking at a week one exit.

I would deal G-Dog...He is hot...but official. It would hurt, but it could help your team. Mclouth is a brand name...will get more off of just his name. Joba will be skipped every other turn probably...so 2 starts in the whole month of Sep.

Wells is money...finally getting the wins and run support. Bucky pitches for the Sox...they still score runs and he is due to face the league the second time by the 2nd week of August. Lot more to get used to from AAA to the bigs...remember that foo has a no hitter in his second start.

I personally think once Bucz gets fully situated into the rotation Lester like numbers will come.

Don't plan on Hudson regaining form so quick...he's been good so far..but don't

I'd rather G...but mclouth you can flip most def.
 
Picked up Gorzelanny on waivers. Figure he'll get two starts next week - then may or may not exit the rotation. Could use the srength next week for sure.

Tough...you'll be turning Catcher into a weekly pick up who is hot kind of deal. Inge needs to be dealt...My opinion. He is already showing wear/tear.

I can see Buc keeping a slot if he can be more consistant. Iffy trade, but you get Gallardo out of the deal.
 
Here's what I'm thinking...

Asking the one guy to sub Saltamacchia for Bannister - and sending him Chipper Jones and Tommy Hunter... Getting Kinsler in the process... and seating him on the Bench.

Asking the other guy for Gallardo and Wells, and sending him Inge...
 
Scherz for DIce..DO IT!

As for the other deals you look like you've got everything covered. Looks solid to me!

I do like the Kinsler acq. he needs the rest to finish strong..note the DL trips around the same time the past two years and explosive finishes.

Dice was the bomb last year... I drafted him... traded him... then re-acquired.

Buckholtz or Wells?
 
Yanks just picked up Gaudin from the Padres. Was just thinking that he would be a decent pitcher on a good team when he pitched against Hanson the other day...

Just snapped him up - in case he replaces Mitre.
 
Where the f*ck is everyone?

I'm starting the backup catcher from DET this week - Alvies. He played Double A ball in my hometown.
 
Started a badass Ra-zor Shi-nes...dun, dun, dundundun chant going today, got him to wave to us a few times. (Razor Shines is the Mets 3B coach and the owner of one the best all-time names in MLB history)
 
Yea I watched the replay of the game last night...:head:

Had an overall good week. GOt Nelson Cruz on the bench hurt...Kazmir decided to blow up my ERA yesterday. I'm about through...got no good options though.

Gaudin should be a nice piece for us. Only cost 150k too.
 
I'm hoping Mitre gets tee'd off on again (but we still win :lol:)

Gaudin will make a stellar 5th starter IMO.

My lineup is weak this week. Just acquired Gallardo, but he's going to sit this week in favor of Carp / Hanson / and Gorz.

Lost Chipper and Inge to trades, and obviously Kinsler wont play this week. Torii is a week away... Reimold will DH for me.

I basically had to reflow the unit...activate the solder, replace thermal compound and redust everything.


I went ahead and took a flyer on the SD venable dude. Also picked up Raja Davis from Oakland since the kid is getting regular playing time.


Mitre is lights out so far tonight...
