I'm really hoping I can get some suggestions on what I should do about this hip/hip flexor pain. On the day following leg day I get unbearable pain deep in my hip and groin area. I can't even locate the exact spot to be honest. Its very deep, very dull aching pain that throbs. Its almost like a migraine but in my hip. And its only on my left hip. The weird thing is that the pain only occurs a day or more AFTER leg day. It never hurts during exercise. What could this be? I am totally against NSAIDS use for pain relief due to the negative effects it has on protein synthesis but I had to take some today because nothing would soothe the pain. I need to find a remedy for this.

10 sets of 5 reps 315lb standard squats

Walking barbell lunges

10 sets of 10 reps leg extensions

10 sets of 10 leg curls

I use to have problems with a deep hip flexor muscle get irritated when doing pistol squats. You maybe irritating it doing lunges, can't say for certain though.

most likely your hip flexors are compensating for weak/misfiring glutes.

when your glutes (major and minor )are not able to stabilize your properly in any movement with deep hip flexion, the hipflexors: PSOAS, TFL, glute minimus & rectus femoris take over and stabilize for you.

I bet that your hips are slightly uneven, and you have some muscular imbalances.

is your left ankle more mobile than your right?

do you have uneven hips, front to back or left to right??>

is your left quad & right hamstring bigger/stronger.....is the right quad & left hamstring smaller/weaker???

on your left hip, the painful one, do you have a muscular lump above your butt/sideleg when you flex?

Did you get your problem settled? I am in a similar situation, but my right hip and knee hurt during squats. I was making good progress up until about 3 months ago. I worked up to 275 for 5x5 and my right side starting hurting during squats. I struggle with pain with only 245. I was wondering how you got help. It has robbed me of my power. Haha

I get the same but on the right side, because my right leg is a little shorter than my left leg after having knee surgery. Hanging upside down from the knees and relaxing the muscles in my groin helps relieve it, but my chiropractor can make it disappear for months by yanking on my right leg until **** pops in the hip.
