No, not Fedor, but his brother Aleksander. Sorry, had to get you to open it.

I actually want to see Aleks fight Sylvia more than Fedor so he can show off his "slow hands" against Sylvia's jaw. He should get a title fight after his second fight.

On a related note, isn't Aleks fighting Werdum later this month in Europe?

Pretty interesting. The UFC must be offering him some pretty decent money to compete with what he'd make in Pride. I think he'd wipe the floor with the UFC's heavyweights to be honest. I'd pick him to beat Sylvia any day of the week.

yeah, Aleks is fighting Werdum at Pride & Honor in Holland.
It is a good move for Aleks to move out of Pride. I'm not sure Hero's might have been a better fit for him but he will definitley liven up the UFC. Can't wait to see Aleks v Arlovski. No comment on Aleks v Sylvia...haha.

One question...how does the UFC plan on working around the visa issue. Aleks is a convicted felon. Look at what happened to Mark Hunt and Mike Bisping in the last 30 days.

I think anyone who watches MMA, and not just UFC, expects Aleks to dominate UFC. An Aleks/Arlovski fight would be an extremely entertaining slugfest.

Just a thought, but what if Arlovski was Alek's first fight and if/when he beats him (which I think he would) he then gets a title shot after two fights (it would be like Anderson Silva's path to Franklin's belt).

If this happens, it is in part b/c Fedor and Aleks will never fight each other. So how far can Aleks ultimately go in Pride?
In my opinion, Aleks will soundly beat everyone in the current stable of UFC heavies.

Just like Silva, Aleks already has proven to be a top-10 fighter. He deserves a title fight that quickly.

I do wonder if Aleks will be able to get a visa to the US, but Dana White does want to hold several events in Canada so Aleks' fights may just be in Canada.

No doubt about that. And do you think it will be any easier to get into Canada than it would to get into the US? I don't know much about that kind of stuff.

I assume that the restrictions on entering Canada are a little bit more relaxed than post-9/11 America.

I don't know though...I work for a Canadian company and getting **** across the boarder can be a *****. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Oh, and what did Aleks do?

Armed robbery; he served 5 years in prison and he talks about it in several interviews.

I've only seen him on Pride DVDs and I always FF to the fights.

This just made my day. Aleks should run through the UFC HW division and as was said above Arlovski/Aleks would be fun. I don't think Alrovski has the heart/chin to hang with Aleks. Let's just hope they reach a contract agreement. It would be cool to see Fedor in his brothers corner...wonder if they'll mention him during the shows.
