So basically its a good replacement for traditional arginine/citruilline as a pre-workout NO booster? Is it something that needs to be cycled off?

You can look at it that way. I would definitely cycle it as per the data on DNA damage. Plus, too much neovascularization is not a good thing
I've been using Pump Spray for several months and I haven't noticed much as far recomp is concerned. I can't say I get much of a pump out of it either.
