Dr. Jhon, What about Proviron?

Well, we'll never know, because since it's not approvied by the FDA, we aren't allowed to legally prescribe it, and thus it is not considered "legal medicine," and on these boards we only practice "legal medicine," because if it's not FDA approved it is surely not beneficial and we shouldn't even waste our time investigating it. Promotes spermatogenesis keeping your balls big

Does not appear to supress the HPTA even at high doses (100-150mg ED) for long periods (1 year). I believe there is some conflicting data though.

Gives you random erections

Has AI properties

Binds to SHBG

Not hepatoxic

I have read people lowering their dose of HCG b/c Proviron is so good at keeping the boys going during a cycle.

The effect of mesterolone on sperm count, on serum follicle stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, plasma testosterone and outcome in idiopathic oligospermic men.

Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, St. George's Hospital Medical School London, U.K.

Two hundred fifty subfertile men with idiopathic oligospermia (count less than 20 million/ml) were treated with mesterolone (100-150 mg/day) for 12 months. Seminal analysis were assayed 3 times and serum follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) luteinizing hormone (LH) and plasma testosterone were assayed once before treatment and repeated at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months after the initiation of treatment. One hundred ten patients (44%) had normal serum FSH, LH and plasma testosterone, 85 patients (34%) had low serum FSH, LH and low plasma testosterone. One hundred seventy-five patients (70%) had moderate oligospermia (count 5 to less than 20 million/ml) and 75 patients (30%) had severe oligospermia (count less than 5 million/ml). Seventy-five moderately oligospermic patients showed significant improvement in the sperm density, total sperm count and motility following mesterolone therapy whereas only 12% showed improvement in the severe oligospermic group. Mesterolone had no depressing effect on low or normal serum FSH and LH levels but had depressing effect on 25% if the levels were elevated. There was no significant adverse effect on testosterone levels or on liver function. One hundred fifteen (46%) pregnancies resulted following the treatment, 9 of 115 (7.8%) aborted and 2 (1.7%) had ectopic pregnancy. Mesterolone was found to be more useful in patients with a sperm count ranging between 5 and 20 million/ml. Those with severe oligospermia (count less than 5 million) do not seem to benefit from this therapy.

Proviron is an active form of DHT which can be a good or bad thing depending on your situation.

It all looks good on paper, but whether its actually beneficial with TRT, I dont know. Its a very good question.

So if one lives in Europe, where Proviron is legal, he'll be wasting his time on this board as it is obviously is only prepared to deal with Americans.

Do you understand sarcasm?

My post was only intended to point out that the doctors on this board will not discuss the use of this drug, since it isn't legal. I, for one, would love to hear more about this drug and see it used in practice by doctors in all nations.

Its called Google, and the world wide web. Do your own research, its not hard, and you will find everything you need to know.

As i understand, doctor can prescribe non FDA drugs to patients if its for the sake of the well being and cure of the patient....and anybody with prescription can order it from overseas...

so i´ts my opinion that not looking into this issue is probably doing lots of harm to patients sinse proviron looks promissing in conjuction with TRT in keeping spematogenesis, as a AI, reducing SHBG and to help ED.

as a highly respected doctor on the field of TRT you should try patients on Proviron...speacially on ED.

My post was just as sarcastic and I've done plenty of research on proviron. I've not only purchased it from Europe and Mexico, but I've made my own liquid proviron from Chinese powders.

But that is a discussion for an entirely different board.

However, having said all that, I've never felt proviron lived up to its hype.

Ya, hey, I'll have LOTS more time to answer questions here for free once I have surrendered my medical license! lol

Hell, once the powers that be in Michigan find out you're getting your patients from steroid bulletin boards with open source listings, they're going to pull it for you for public relations purposes alone. . .

Government these days, what a crock.

Oh that's right, no source posting over here at AM . . . and the anabolic discussion section is obviously about needlepoint ;o)

Dr John speaks against steroid usage, he is here to help everyone with low T, even former users of steroids. This is not a steroid board though.

On my googlig ways I found claims that Proviron lowers SHBG levels.
Any supporting evidence?
