You wear socks to cushion your shins for leg extensions, however are calling other people douches for wearing long socks? Leg extensions...

I'm being sarcastic, I'm making fun of myself...its the whole joke!

Lol gotcha! Im glad because i was just like what the hell is happening

My socks never, ever match!

This guy's squat depth... He spent so much time stretching and did only 2 sets, then he saw me doing extensions and asked to work in.

Now, I don't mind anyone working in but there was another extension machine right next to mine!!! I think he just wanted to see if he could do the same weight as me because he only did one set!!!!

Edit: A kid decided to box squat using the safety squat bar. 95lbs, hunched over, and hands on his thighs. I was waiting to see if the bar was going to fall over so I could save him.

(Powerlifting shoes makes everyone feel like a powerlifter)

Get low!!!

You can't hide my calves, they're enormous lol, as for depth I get below parallel and hold for a 2 count.

I have scoliosis, the curve makes balancing hard, I need to go wide or I lean forward and knees take brunt of movement.

Yeah squats are a very body mechanic based exercise, same as dead lifts, everyone can do them if you work up to it and use a form that will not cause injury.

I hear you. On deadlifts I have to either put the barbell on platforms or simply go lighter and do Romanians. Short arms and long legs.

Ahh the joys of T-Rex arms, I feel your pain bud, benching is a dream, dead lifts a nightmare... I go narrow stance and put thin rubber mats down when dead lifting...

People at my gym don't know the difference between a squat bar and a deadlift bar. I always have to switch them out.

Yeah we added a longer dead lift bar at my gym too and it ends up everywhere... Benches, shoulder press, squat tower...

Hey puccah8808 unrelated, but have you ever run an Andro cycle?

Nope, I don't even know what that is. Will it make me stronger?

Well it all depends on what you run, I ask cause I have a female friend considering trying a cycle to maintain/build muscle and burn fat before her wedding. You're one of the only women I see consistently posting on here, figured I'd ask.

I don't usually run things because I'm always afraid of the unknown. Kat has ran osta, as well as cardarine and seem to really enjoy both. I think she's about to run one of those again. Come over to our log and hopefully she'll be able to help you out. :)

Great, thanks, I was going to suggest Ostarine to her but wanted to get a woman's take on it. I've seen your log, I'll go follow now. :D

lifted67 I ran Osta in a bulk a little over a year ago. I have a log somewhere around here on it. Lol

I am about to run Osta again but in a cut this time. Should be starting in the next week or so.

Thanks, I saw there was a 19 Nor promo going but thought that'd be too strong for a first run on a female, not to mention I have NO CLUE how female PCT works lol, but I'm trying to get her to join so she can talk to you directly.

I can't say I know much either but I know about my experience with Osta! Haha I'll be more than happy to share what little I do know with her!

Women don't need a pct because they only have 75 NG/DL of testosterone. They don't have to take anything coming off to return to normal levels. On another note I really want to work legs right now but I can't until tonight. Oh well. At least the gym won't be super packed at night time

They're using crossfit as self defense.

You don't wanna mess with me, man. Look at how many burpees I can do!

Alright, here's how this is gonna go down. I'm going to do 25 burpees, 20 squats, 10 bicep curls, and then we can fight, but we can only fight for 30 seconds because I have to start the cycle over again.

At the gym? Lol they're silly

How would that even work? Somebody gets jumped and starts doing burpees?

Every time I'm tempted to lift, I just read this sign...

One hour of cardio and I'm out! I can't compete with the girls who are high-fiving each other cuz they were able to bench 65lbs on the smith machine. I can't do it, it's too intimidating...

Group of 4 or 5 people curling 95 pounds on our only squat rack for a good 30-45 minutes ... So frustrating when we have a full set of pre set Ez bar weights up too 100 pounds. Why take the only f**cking squat rack...

So insane for a "gym" to discourage people actually training.

Exactly what I was thinking and they judge us for it.

It isn't a gym, it's a daddy daycare.
It's a daycare for adults to go and get pizza and candy and make themselves feel better by wasting time and money in a place they don't wanna be.

All of our PFs are in low income areas. They know what they're doing...

It's a fitness centre that caters for a certain niche. When I worked at a gym, I used to ask a lot of people why they didn't come back - one of the main reasons? The grunting, heavy weights and show boaters who made them feel out of place.

If its not for you, just go for the cardio and ignore the rest. I get that this is a rant thread, but you're in their gym, they are not in yours.

I hated telling some people off for C&Jing and dropping the weights from the top position, but it was a rule we enforced due to property damage and even though most people could do it, the occasional one or two would end up putting holes in the wall.

I understand their motto and that's why I only utilize their cardio machines. I may cancel next month, though, because I do feel uncomfortable there. It's just a totally different environment.

I feel unwelcome...

I not down with the fact that they champion mediocrity, those of us that work our asses for our bodies aren't usually show boating for the mirrors we're eyeing our physiques for flaws, weaknesses, looking to improve. You are just not encouraged to improve there, you're encouraged to eat ****ty food and put in the bare minimum of effort so that any real progress is miniscule.

It's that whole "everyone gets a trophy" mentality that makes people entitled douche bags.

Then you are not their clientèle, simple as that. Most people will find ANY excuse to not exercise, especially at a gym so they are trying to break down as many barriers as they possibly can - and it works.

It seems that people arnt noticing that there is a disconnect between hardcore lifting and doing it for well being and general health. They are in there trying to make a change yet you guys are in here flaming them for feeling comfortable in a fitness centre that you are not.

How are you measuring mediocrity? Remember, not everyone strives to DL, BP or S for massive totals, for some people a 10+ point drop in BP is what they are after, or to have pants fit better or whatever it may be. Just because there mission statement doesnt align with your goals doesn't make it wrong, it just makes it different.

Meh, to each their own but after working in the industry with real people, you see what works and what doesn't and that size is not the only goal

You're kidding right? PF makes money on the people who don't show up...my post had nothing to do with people who try to drop a few pounds or try to get healthier, its about a gym that appeals to people who they figure will sign the contract and never show up again and be so lazy that the idea of cancelling their $10/mo membership is just not worth the effort.

For the people that do go there to exercise good for them, but for the company to act like fit people are somehow bad is balls.

This is 100+% of gyms though, not just PF. My uni gym had 3000-5000+ active members with maybe 10% who showed up regularly enough to drop off retention lists.

Gyms survive this way so im not sure how they can be flamed for the same thing. I dont see what the issue is; if you dont like it then dont go. If you dont go then why does it bother you what they do?

The whole point of the thread is about douchebags that bother us at the gym I didn't realize propaganda against hardcore fitness enthusiasts was an unwelcome addition restricted from discussion here. Jesus, you know how to take fun out of a discussion. I'm sorry if the negativity stirs something so deep inside you, maybe find a thread called the Glorious Wonders of Commercial Gyms?

You're discussing an entire gym franchise as opposed to a member of your gym. This thread isn't "why I hate planet fitness", so I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at, lol.
