I had a really fat guy try to give me advice, I literally just said okay and kept doing what I was doing.
It's the equivalent of fat/old gnc reps telling me what I need..
those who can, do..
those who can't, preach

Can we just make it a point to not clown on the overweight too much. In my opinion it's these guys that we should be helping along. I help them out at the gym every chance I get. Look at it from their point of view. They feel bad about themselves, possibly have insecurities and are still going to the gym to make a change. You guys may not think so but I'm sure that takes major courage on their part. Just the other day I helped out a woman that couldn't figure a machine out. She was fumbling around trying to lower a seat and was getting super frustrated. I walked over and started to help her out. She specifically told me she saw me working out and I scared her lol but that me taking time to go over and help her made her feel welcome. She thanked me and went on to tell me how hard it is for her to get up the nerve to workout around a bunch of intimidating men and women but that knowing people are willing to help made her more comfortable. They're people just like us, trying to better themselves, and get healthy. Who knows why. Maybe for themselves, their families, or to combat an illness.
God damn lack of a thank you button!!
So true.
Nah man. No medical back ground. Electronics technician. Kinda.Aren't you a medic or in EMS? If so, you don't count lol. You do this already I'm sure and have to deal with all types of people. Gotta love Healthcare, eh?

I believe it takes more courage to actually practice humility and consider that they are another human being - someones son/daughter, mother/father, sister/brother. It takes more balls to have compassion and practice it than it does to mock. Can we just make it a point to not clown on the overweight too much. Been there and done that too. It's someones daughter or mother - very likely someone here has a mother just like that. She was fumbling around trying to lower a seat and was getting super frustrated. The biggest douchebags in just about every gym I've ever been in are the highschool/early college kids who travel in packs of 3-5, do bench and curls only and walk around like they are 250lbs of muscle and not the 155lbs of arm and chest that they all are. Most of the out of shape people have better gym etiquette than them and seem to work harder anyway.
It absolutely was me. These boards weren't really popular when I was that age but if they were I'd be on the douchebag thread. With all that's available at your fingertips these days I still don't understand how they are still doing the idiotic chest and arm only workouts that I was dumb enough to do back then. What a douchebag I was.I love to see a hardworking young person in the gym, and I love it even more when they stick with it and become what they want. Because wasn't that every single one of us at one point? I don't like the inconsistent groups of giggling 12 year olds you speak of, though![]()

Thanks for being a light in an otherwise very dark world.
EDIT:
True. The point wasn't that he was fat I should have clarified that.
I don't care what your body type is, if your nice to me, I'm nice to you.
I didn't mention you bro haha I didn't even see your post![]()
When I surround myself with like minded people I reinforce my mindset and attitudes. When I surround myself with others of different mindset and attitude I expand myself. These can be both positive and negative but you get my point. Today I look for the different than myself character to engage with. It's always expanded my heart and mind in one form or another. When I was younger I engaged in such antics etc. Then I got older, got out of my surroundings and my comfort zone and met some truly great people. People that others frequently made fun of, put down or made them feel like outcasts. I tell ya what, they were some of the coolest and funnest people I had the chance of meeting. There is another quote from a YouTube video I had to watch for school called the last lecture (if interested: Randy Pausch Last Lecture: Invalid Link Removed) that said trust earnest people over cool people. Being cool fades but being earnest lasts a life time. That is completely true.
cant "verify" this story without knowing her name.........So, I found out one of the IFBB pro women at my gym does porn. Now, when I see her, it distracts me. What a douche.
Need a name for research to see how distracting this can possibly be.So, I found out one of the IFBB pro women at my gym does porn. Now, when I see her, it distracts me.

Today was naked man shaving his legs, dry, on the bench in the locker room. At least take it to the shower!
Same thing at my gym. Old guy (maybe 60s) shaving his face butt naked in mirror with the towel on the counter. At least put the towel around yourself and spare us the horror.

My friend got some diet pills from GNC and paid $45 for them. I showed her that it was on groupon for $9 and she said that anything under $40 wasn't legit. Lol I cut it out, but I told her that I rather eat healthy and stick to my workouts. She wasn't too happy with my response. What's the image of? It's not showing over here.

Oh, and she wants to lose 20lbs by August.
GNC is great for quest bars when they have their 10 dollar coupon though
