I just wonder what the citizens is Ukraine would have thought if their government pushed for the Sweden approach and worked to be armed and affirmatively independent and neutral? Because as far as I see it, the government has responsibility for leading their country into a brutal war they knew they were going to assure.

That’s not to say Putins actions are justified they are not, but neither is the Ukrainians government unless the people wanted the expense of these atrocities in the first place to join NATO. All of this could have been avoided and I don’t believe Russia would have gobbled up Ukraine, the only reason they took Crimea was due to the coup and western backed civil war against the eastern regions.

They didn’t really even have a Western style government, the current was propped up via violent coup and civil war 2014 as we already know. Maybe they were propping up in that direction but I dunno.

The binary (no pun intended) choice they faced was to slowly lose pieces of their country until they had no country and no freedom, or make the desperate reach for NATO protection and thereby likely war and an immediate fight for their freedom.

And don't forget that the 2014 Orange revolution orchestrated by the west to pull Ukraine away from Putin's control was only their first taste of freedom, 8 years ago. AFTER that, the Ukrainians voted to get rid of the US puppet govt too (Poreschenko) and instead they voted 73% to pick a comedian/entertainer leader. They CHOSE this path by a wide majority and of their own free will.

And that is kind of admirable if not inspiring!!

Well I hope all those millions of Ukrainians that lost heir homes and family think its still was worth it rather than letting Putin control Ukraine even if that is truly that case which I dont but lets say it is.

America is dead broke, and a Libertarian I see our freedoms and liberties being torn away from us by the day and if we concern ourselves with the problems with other nations we wont have a nation any more.

China and Taiwan need to settle their own problems, They already took Tibet, they took Eastern Turkestan, they took a part of Mongolia, etc....we opened up the phone lines in the early 70s and started trading with China, and they have come a long way since even with all their faults and problems today.

I say if people want to voluntarily pay their own money for Taiwan independence or go enlist in their military they can go ahead and knock themselves out, its their freedom to do so, but nobody has a right to tell me or anybody with the barrel of a gun pointed to our heads how to spend my money as I have my own needy causes I want to pick and choose to contribute to in order to help people in need. Stealing our money agaisnt our will to protect the freedoms of other nations that have no threat to our sovereignty and territorial integrity as we watch all our own slip away isnt freedom, its tyranny. And the end result of the actions of D.C. in illegal foreign interventionism in Ukraine is now yet another genocide and I should trust them to decide whats right or wrong?

I care about it, absolutely but we have to call out the corrupt agenda and hypocrisy behind the scenes. What about Lybia? We can have dialogues and express public opinion, we can promote volunteerism if people want to help with these causes by all means go for it. If we pay property tax, sales tax, fine but that also too needs to come back to Americans and America which also includes taking care of the deficit and going the direction of a surplus rather than continue the failed policies that bring us negative results.

First, I have to be 100% clear, I speak for myself first, just because Im a registered Libertarian it does not mean all Libertarians share the same sentiment. Also, not every Libertarian represents me. We do however share much of the same common ground, love for country, love the the Bill of Rights and Constitution, love for freedom and Liberty.

Now, Im going to be myself, not the public self and rant and rant random thoughts. Dont get offended by anything, I actually like most people, and that includes most Republicrats and most Demicans I know.

Anything below is just the way I express myself on political boards, but I do the best I can to make honest points in my own non-professional fun way.

I dont doubt your own love for country and compassion for fellow human. I just heavily disagree with some of the methods to achieve a better future of peace and prosperity in the world.

That being said....and Im not going to proof read most of what I rights because Im a little lazy, lol

We are actually taking a lot of action and trying to prevent more genocide from all these corrupt government policies that only lead to mass destruction and murder of countless innocent people. At the end of the day, our government and NATO have no ethical integrity and truly dont give a rats crap about the Ukrainian people. They just care about the resources. So why should we fund the war with money we dont have?

There are two big realities that consistently upset Libertarian idealism. .

1) ONE - someone always wins the US Presidential race and the Libertarians have never been close. I mean punchline-of-a-joke not close. Oh thanks lol.....I have a problem with my sleep time incrementally getting later and later, and its always hard to go back. I used to have that one time a year every year where Id fly back from China with some serious jet lag and I would start going to bed at 6pm and getting up at 1 in the morning and slowly correcting myself util a 11-6isAM schedule and maintain that as long as I can, but I havent been able to go there since 2019.

"Come up with a better plan?" Im not running for office lol..........I look for and want leadership, but we absolutely have a plans. I look to Larry Sharpe as my libertarian role model who is more of a pragmatist when it comes to policies which Im in line with. I can put my end game ideology on the side. This year we are fighting for the NY Governors office. And if we dont win, well NYers as a whole will get what they deserve.

I supported him in the Libertarian primaries last year he was running as VP under Judge Grey (I wasnt originall a Jo supporter) but if we can pull of the NY Governor seat that would be huge for our party. 4 years ago Larry became the first Libertarian in NY to win mandatory ballot status for this years election, it was a big win and good momentum going forward.

Republicans and Democrats are different breeds of scumbags. If we had 4 more years of Trump we would still have terrible spending/debt, tax breaks for the rich, and confused/concerned allies and enemies abroad... BUT he was the only guy refusing to commit a hundred trillion to some global warming green agenda, he was pursuing US energy independence with our own gas/oil/coal (which ALSO reduces our foreign intervention), he defeated ISIS in Syria and then pulled almost everyone back, he killed the terror mastermind Soleimani without starting an actual war with Iran and defended the Iraq embassy from takeover (unlike Dems in Libya!), he did more to secure the border than ANYONE, he moved towards peace in the middle east with the Abraham Accords while also opposing Iran getting a nuclear warhead, he wanted free speech on the social media platforms having been banned himself, and he was pushing for school vouchers to give those in terrible school districts a better option than transgender grooming of their 8 year olds, etc. MUCH better for American values on so many issues than Biden. The American values you say you care about now all got worse.

Democrats and Republicans are like the Titanic. The Independents really do have the power to nudge the ship in one direction, a little left or right. For now, the majority of the country thinks you guys are too bat-sh1t crazy to steer the ship alone. But you get to alter its direction, if even a little bit. If you hide down in your cabin and pout, that feeble old fvck Biden is going to plow into an iceberg and we are ALL going to drown.

I think the best course of action would be to help choose the President that aligns a little more with your values. Slowly steering the ship in a better direction every 4 years, until a legitimate 3rd party candidate is ready for the big boy center stage. And in the meantime, focus on bringing Independents into the House and Senate (and state governments) as an earlier goal which still has little to no success. Or you could take a different Walking Dead type path and say you are deliberately trying to sink the ship to as fast as possible to start over fresh and new with whoever survives. On that basis put the worst candidate forward every time. But at least be honest about it.

Its all good, you make fair points and we do share some of the same values, but really if Republicrats steered the country in the direction of freedom and liberty all these years, respected and followed their oaths in office the Demicans never would have had the power to steer the country in the direction in which we have. Some of our Founding Fathers explicitly warned why we should limit government powers.....as the saying goes, you may like your government today, but you may not tomorrow. And once you allow government to expand powers its hard to scale it back. Republicrats for decades cheered when they exploited our rights via expanding unconstitutional government agencies, then bark when some other group is handed those powers on a silver platter. At the end of the day, when the doors shut they both those parties are the same sides of the same coin and their policies are only incremental differences. They are all financed primarily by the same people behind the scenes, they work for them, not the people.

Im ok with 2%, you gotta start somewhere, there are no other options for me other than staying home and not voting. If you vote for either side of that single party duopoly you give yourself no chance at change in the long run.
