For generations! His family will never have to work another day in their life. I’m tempted to make an additional comment about that but I’ll refrain.

If his family really cared about racial justice, they would donate most of the money to programs that support black communities and give them the tools to make wiser choices and keep themselves out of bad situations. Isn’t that what the death of George Floyd is supposed to represent moving forward ...change? On the other hand, it’s all based on a false narrative so I don’t even know why I’m suggesting anything.

Awarding the family $27 million achieves nothing aside from allowing his family to purchase multiple homes and a yacht or two if they wish. This amount of money is insanely ridiculous and surely could be utilized for something else more productive.

believe it or not but i've read stories where people have won over $100 million and in less than 10 years are broke...i give them 5 tops---easy come, easy go.

Well, in this particular case, they will probably squander a large chunk of money on drugs. The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree either.

Then they will have a run in with the cops and claim they were treated unfairly based on their family affiliation with George Floyd. I can just see the headlines now!

Texas is going right down the shytter and it will definitely be blue. It’s all part of this administrations plan as the border increasingly becomes a catastrophe. In the eyes of the O’Biden administration, everything is commencing as planned.

it is impossible to sustain a country that has no border and is a welfare state...the two just don't work out economically.

Why would they “squander” it on drugs? If a family member is an addict, doesn’t equate to the family being addicts. If you’ve watched intervention you’ll see that. Even in my experience, my Best friend turned into a heroine addict, no one in there family used.. only him, I mean his bloodline didn’t use.

So, why would the family squander the money on drugs? Maybe they will do something “productive” with the money, who knows. Ironic that when we’re not the one in the situation - we offer all the solutions.

They’re use to be a show on past lottery winners and a high majority were broke after “x” amount of years. Sad really. All that money and still no happiness or content. Wild.

you know the old saying about money and happiness....but in this case these people are not prepared to handle that kind of money and will probably get swindled out of most of it, imo. that is the money they don't blow on really stupid stuff like expensive cars that depreciate as soon as they leave the lot.

I hope they use it toward something that is actually productive. That would mean acknowledging the real problems though within the black community, and do they actually have any interest in making an impact there? Maybe they don’t? Maybe they could use it toward something that would benefit all races in honor of their family member. As much as you can honor a criminal I suppose 🤷‍♂️

I mean it is what it is, the entire thing was and is just a media propaganda nightmare. The fact that the family got $27 million is just disqusting.
 
I must add though, the only reason I see fit for the family of George Floyd receiving an outrageous settlement is the fact that the death of their loved one was exploited as a tool for propaganda. However, they must of had to sign something to have the footage remain in circulation and were likely seeing the dollar signs very early.

Or if the family is more like Floyd they will buy a Yacht so they have a place to smoke crack until their fortunes are gone, then sell the Yacht to smoke more crack in a back alley.

Police brutality happens, its just a fact that will always be, cops are only human and thus flawed like all of us. Maybe they could start a charity with some of the money to help victims of heavy handed justice of all races and backgrounds.
 
I don't think its helpful to rip on floyds family, they're not responsible for the life he chose, however by the same logic they don't deserve any come up because he died the way he did, if your not responsible for something then you also shouldn't be benefit from it, right?

Yes, there is lots of hate, a family exploits a low life thug criminal moron crackhead who died of high toxic levels of drugs and steals $27 million of hard earned tax payer money that has absolutely no involvement in the incident.

It’s always admirable when people suffer a loss and then actually do something worth while to honor the memory of their loved one such as starting up a charity. The family has certainly been given an exorbitant amount of money. If they don’t do something big to give back to the community it would be nothing short of disgraceful. The ball is in their court to show their true character and demonstrate how they truly feel about racial justice and police brutality.

He died because a cop knelt on his neck for 8 minutes. Don't kid yourself.

The cop decided $27 million was the price he was willing to pay to take a life. I'm pretty sure George would rather be alive now than die for money he would never see.

Victim blaming at its absolute finest. Blame the cop for killing someone, not the person who died as a result. Lord.

how about the family of the cop-more than likely they will be without a primary bread winner, a father and a husband--and to top it off will probably loose his pension...plus his family will be labelled and targeted for insults and attacks, they are more victim than floyd's family, imo.

i have no power to make you do anything, but i would really appreciate it if you would stop saying Jesus man- thanks in advance.

I normally wouldn’t have such an issue but we are talking $27 million! Apparently the largest pre-trial settlement in a civil rights wrongful death case in US history. All for the death of a criminal, who died in the midst of a criminal act with multiple drugs in his system. Nobody should feel good about that.

Yes, that family has one less family member, but we all have one less criminal to worry about.

So I’m pretty sure Officer Chaurvin doesn’t have much play money hanging around these days to be donating to any families. Is he remorseful? I don’t even know if he is, or to what extent he should be. I would like to hear more of his side of the story before I make that call.

What we do know is that the Floyd family has been showered with money. Maybe one thoughtful gesture would be to send a nice check to the pregnant woman George held at gunpoint and robbed in her own house? Did they ever reach out to her?

Well, I can tell you what is likely coming. The Floyd family will make a large donation to BLM and the bullshyt will come full circle. Meanwhile, making some people actually believe they used the money for a good cause.

So often, people get engulfed in what the media wants people to believe and focus on that we forget about the unspoken or true victims.
