Republicrats were far more deep with Christianity during the Bush era...they seem to have steered from that just a little. Im not saying its not there but the overall perception had reformed since Dump took office and some newer blood taking the thrones.

Dump has attracted a humongous fanbase to the party, his popularity only increased the past 4 years. No other Republicrat has had the support and success that Dump had, Dump was even more popular and successful than Obobo.

Obobo 2008 69,500,000 (all time record)
Obobo 2012 65,900,000 (lost popularity, including I myself)

Obobo turned at a loss

Dump 2016 almost 63,000,000
Dump 2020 74,000,000 (crushing 1st term and also crushing Obobo's all time record)

Anyways, what Im saying is Dump compiled alot of people towards him and helped change the party away from the hardcore christian leanings that were far more apparent in the Bush years.

that is a pretty narrow minded viewpoint, imo. i know many christian democrats who love America, but most of them are older and have been democrats long before the current generation of democrats took control of the party.

You are probably right...politicians in general are anti-gun. It isn't about either party. You summed it up nicely once, There should be so many guns out there that politicians have to think about it everything they sign a law...if I remember what you said roughly.

Well, they probably do and want it to stop. And everything there is a shooting or tragedy, it is an opportunity for them to make people feel like they are on the same side of the table on the 2A.

This is, yet again, another area where term limits would help and where a vote for Trump was a vote for a politician who would serve 8 years and return to the private sector instead of a vote for a guy who never worked a job in the private sector in his adult life and lived off the government taxes for 50 years. Really, for me, that was the most important factor in all of this. But he has flaws, for sure.

In a rare moment I agree with you. At least ideologically. There is a line in the sand and we have to choose which side we are on based on our party. I think this has to do with a few things.

1. Politicians are ALL incentives to grow the government because it has become a lucrative career for them. If you have a good job with elite benefits, you will fight to keep it, and expanding government in this case is a great way to do that. See a 25M$ raise for politicians in a covid bill.

2. Because of #1 and the ignorance of the general population, the core values and ideas that each party is meant to represent have been forgotten. "Republican politicians" are politicians looking to expand their job security and pay when they should be fighting to limit government power, as a good example. This is why so many people view Rand Paul the way they do, he represents the core values better than almost any of them. This is also why we need parties like the libertarian party that really are a hyper focusing if some core conservative values, IMO. Not to be taken wrong, I like a lot of the libertarian view - but this is more of an indictment on republican politicians.

3. I agree on an ideological level that we should vote for the best person making the right promises and upholding those promises. But we don't really have time to analyze every detail, although this is easier today than historically, and the two party system should, in theory, create a good heuristic for the core beliefs that a politician is promising to uphold. We should be fighting for those beliefs and not for or against a person. But life isn't that simple and politics are dirty - see career politicians under #1.

Not saying I would ever vote Democrat but it would be unlikely, because I see democrats as upholding beliefs that the government should be responsible for individuals - but then again,, this is a belief Kennedy contradicted with "Ask not..."

On top of that, as a registered Libertarian, Im not either a Conservative or Liberal yet and dont like being called either, ever...both ideologies suck azz butttt more on that later.

Libertarian does not equate to Conservatism. I dunno why Conservatives keep on thinking they can hijack the movement, Im here to stop that. We do not represent the values of Republicans, if Republicans insist on being Republican as they have the past couple hundred years, please stay where you are.

Libertarianism are open to any political leaning, they do not belong to conservatives. You can be as Liberal or Conservative as you want to be as long as you dont force your view on others and promote freedom.

Conservatism and Liberalism is a political trap staged by government psychologist hooligans to consolidate free thought and suck you into the matrix of the false left/right paradigm dominating the system and in return they dominate the people, how they think and who their enemies are.

So I repeat, Republicans and Conservatives by far in no way representative of the Libertarian party and I prefer it stay that way before you all spoil my party. We are the Libertarian party, not the Conservative party, we are not the Republican party nor do we want represent Republicans. However, anybody is welcome to sign up as long as you support the power of the people to run the way of life as you see fit, just dont force other people to do things, be responsible for your own damn life and help others on your own terms and free will.

On the topic of politicians...you posted the meme with the spending bill statistics and it is a meme so I should remain skeptical as I have always said about meme- but that darned line #17 you pointed out about $25M for congressmen pay increases...

There are 435 total people who could fall under this heading. That is $57,000 to each of them potentially. Part of me finds this hard to believe, and maybe it isn't true. And maybe it is true but it includes staff, etc.

Still though, the optics of asking for a $57,000 pay increase while offering out $600 to people truly in need, while you live off their hard work...it is truly nauseating.

Yep. And here in Oklahoma county they just voted to give themselves all $17375 raise on Christmas Eve.

Eh, we disagree and that is cool. Everyone has to feel unique, I get that.. There have been numerous attempts at such a party throughout history, and they all eventually collapse back into the republican party from which their ideas originally sprung. I am not saying conservatism represents libertarianism - far from it. Libertarianism is hyper-focused on a few of the tenants of conservatism and they started their own movement, but true conservatism already encompasses those ideas...although we do not have true conservative politicians, because it is impossible to be a conservative and a career politician.

The irony in what I am reading is that, of course a libertarian is forcing their ideas on others if they run for office.

That would be up from 174,000 which has been the salary since 2009......Its not a low salary and to top it off that is one hell of a pay increase.

These people that voted for it are the lowest life filth on the planet.

One has to keep in mind that those filthy animals are making that for only a few months of actual work. How it ever came to be that people can vote for their own pay increase using stolen funds is beyond me.

Well, forcing isnt really the key, the key is freedom of choice and the power of the individual over the state. It is in the best long term interest of all to have power of yourself to promote peace and harmony, then you can go about your own ideals and are empowered to do so.

Libertarianism is actually promoting people to have their own ideas and protecting that birth right privilege.

Its not forcing ideas on others.....its promoting, protecting and empowering others to have them.

Sometimes I feel like your saying they deserve the rope is over the top, then I think of crap like this and, if true, I have to consider you may be right.

Meanwhile, this summer. Pelosi went home on vacation to her freezer full of ice cream I will never be able to afford and the President-Elect's son receives one off payments that equal 60-years of paychecks for the average worker, just because he is the VP's son. Insane.

Yeah, I think the official focus of the two parties is different, but I think true conservatism should share those same views...but maybe that is because I am a conservative-libertarian or something.

If there was a thought police I would be locked away for life. Words haven’t been invented yet to describe how low I think of politicians. They are the lowest forms of life in the universe. If I was presented with a choice to give even one strand of my hair in exchange to save the lives of all our politicians, I would let them all die.

They all become cults. When the Libertarian party grows in power one day will be a cult too, human nature is to increase power, parties get infiltrated and destroyed from the outside (Ron Paul's tea party movement was immorally infiltrated by Sarah Palin and the media and mostly destroyed from its original intent for example.)

In the long run Libertarian party as is, its least worst in the long run because we promote the smallest government possible and when the Libertarian cult of the future grows too much power, it will take longer to strip peoples freedoms and liberties away....Point, as Jefferson says, The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

The Libertarian party is the only party that puts people in best position to do so, the Republican party is the absolute complete opposite, they are monster government and oppress people and all of their supporters prop all that up. They dont fight fair and crush opposition with their big beuracratic systems they popped up, people are weaker by the day thanks to Republicans.

Yes thats probably what you are and that is 100000%%%%%%%%%% perfect! You are what you are.

I never related myself as a Conservative. I jumped from being a Democratic Bush era liberal to being a political athiest the first year Obobo took office, to joining the Libertarian party. I do not ever relate myself as a conservative, although I like some of their values.

Freedom is attractive to everybody once everybody learns the hard way that big government is trash and not the solution to your own individual desires. Get government out the way and be what you wanna be and be empowered to work on that.

I like to sell freedom more than Libertarianism. The first is a permanant human right, the latter is simply a party prone to future damage.

The biggest pay raises in the bill werent even the politicians, its the corporations they are giving our stolen money too. It return they get support and financing aka bribes to win the next elections.

Ive told some people on here for years that the US Government is the biggest more corrupt group in human history and people never believe me.

Its a load of trash, first 100 day plan has nothing uniting about it and they are going all out on "executive actions."
 
On a more positive note, I hear the white house has become polite all of a sudden. Everyone's walking around saying "pardon me."
