Any thoughts on the assassination attempt on the GOP Congressmen and staff? Besides Gov McCarpetbagger proclaiming 93 MILLION people die each day by guns.

It's a senseless crime and brings out the hypocrites, same as when people start yelling for a travel ban when other tragedies occur.

I wish our officials are allowed to arm themselves to protect themselves from these terrorists, thank goodness Capital Police were there.....absolutely incredible heroes, absolutely fearless!

the real hypocrites are the politicians...I heard members of both sides saying that even though we have heated arguments at the end of the day we all get along--they need to take responsibility for all the hate speech and realize this is just one of the consequences....maybe now that the violence has been directed at them they might own up to all the damage they have done---both sides!!!

I studied Russian for 5 years at school -and still speak it to a degree. Putin has a strong opposition with logs and satire all over the internet.
I could give you links -but would it help?
Believe me, opinions are less censored than in Germany -maybe not as free as US -but far from being overly restricted.

If I had to chose where to live, Russia -or US, I would go with US, that does not mean I'm conform with US politics.

A Roman soldier would say: "Anyway, its good to be a Roman."

Protesters get arrested all over the world, especially if the protest is not peaceful, like "puzzy riot". If they go mental and disturb the peace -or destroy institutions, they get arrested, even in US.

What I want to say is, the Russian is not an enemy, the US -and European (vassal states) public were duped to believe it since ending of WW2, to keep the cold war going -and tax payers money flowing into military projects, this way keeping the Russians economy "short" -as they were struggling to counter balance it.

That's how I see it.

They do that here too dont they? I remember back during the Bush years they rounded up over 1000 protestors and locked them up in an abandoned warehouse aka NYPD's "own little Guantanamo on the Hudson."

Obama made it illegal to protest around him within a certain distance. The IRS was used to oppress political opposition a couple years ago. Then we have the Patriot Act...I can go on.

The US has a long history of suppressing political opposition. Not saying we are as bad as Russia, we certainly are not. Id rather be here than over there, lol I mean shyt...they let illegals vote here!!!!

I truly believe that U.S./ Russian relations under trump would have been [and still might be?] much better if the democrats had not blamed the Russians and Putin for Hillary Clinton losing the presidential election.

My opinion : There are shady people in the background at play, with leverage. Trump can't do as planed, "they" have him by his blonde haired balls.
Its not about democrats. The interwoven deals between state and private companies are the problem.
Talking way too much for a person who isn't really interested in politics -merely interested in peace for my family and friends.
(not all humans, as I'm not a humanist ;) -simply put, some humans don't deserve peace )

I hope the Oliver Stone interview will open the eyes of many people world wide.

I guess it depends on perspective...I really thought Obama was the great divider and polarizer-the social issues he pushed like boys in girls bathrooms and black lives matters, not to mention pulling troops out of Iraq and afghanistan to me were very divisive....now the democrats are saying trump is responsible for dividing the nation...geez, where have those democrats been for the last 8.5 years?

I guess from a democratic perspective Obama wasn't divisive because they agreed with his agenda...trump is divisive because they disagree with his agenda.

go back a few hundred pages in this thread and see how divisive we were while Obama was president....to say trump is responsible for how divided the country is doesn't make sense....true, he may have added to it-but Obama had this country very divided before trump even announced he was running--at least in my opinion.

Yes, I remember Obama's campaign speeches when he promised a boy in every bathroom and I think black lives matters was his campaign slogan (sarcasm). Why are you still listening to the media?! They are lying to you no matter if their name is CNN or Fox.

All politicians are divisive. Name one US President in the last 200 years who united rather than represented a political party and its agenda.

FDR who ordered the internment of Japanese Americans, started socialism in the US with his New Deal, and was against an anti-lynching law?

JFK wasn't as big of a divider, but Bay of Pigs? Cuban Missile Crisis (which he gets credit for solving even though he caused it)? There was at least some people either in a book depository or on a grassy knoll that weren't fans.

Yes looking back. I will go on record that I HATE FDR!!!!! Although the people of the time didn't see it that way. At least in my opinion.

FDR was pretty heavily criticized during his terms. Even his own first vice president turned against him. Obviously he held the majority by getting elected for 12 years, but there was great division on both sides. At least we can agree on our hatred for him lol
