I dropped out of Harvard law school after only 2 years so my legal knowledge is somewhat limited....what do you guys think of trumps travel ban? to me it looks like LEGALLY it should go thru, no matter what you think of the policy.

the problem is the policy itself, imo....legally I can't see any issue, but I'm not a legal expert.

I would have rolled it out a little differently...people with green cards were screwed a but, and those that already have visas could have been told not to come....cross world flights just suck trust me, lol. The world isnt perfect. I do not believe this has anything to do with Muslims as a whole.

yes, I agree there were kinks in the beginning. if the opposition could prove that it is a ban on a religion I believe that is the only leg they could stand on, but I think that legally it is impossible to prove, without letting personal beliefs interfere.

Even if it was, Im not saying its right but even if it was a ban on a religion, why would it be a legal requirement for the US government to protect the religious rights of non-American citizens?

I [think] there is something in the constitution about banning immigration for religion reasons....that is why trump's administration is going out of their way to say it is not a religious ban.

A rich privileged person who's family gave the GOP in upwards of $200,000,000.00 in donations has a seat of power in Trump's Administration.

What makes her qualified for the position?
I'd love to see that resume.

It's heartening as well.
I mean, anyone can do anything! I believe it now, so I'm going to apply for NASA; NFL; NBA, and the NHL! I think I got a shot. I just have to come up with $200,000,000.00 to donate and secure my chances.

I think the biggest issue was that he was stopping legal citizens from re-entering. The above seems to apply to aliens which is fair enough IMO.

Just so you know, Government here has a rich history of discrimination, inequality, doesnt respect due process, craps on our US Constitution, discriminates based on religion and political beliefs, etc of American citizens to this day... to keep it short.....So by default, where Im sitting its hard for me to stand of for foreign nationals when American's themselves are currently being shytting on lol

Which legal citizens? Did they really deny citizens? Do you mean "green card" holders? They are not citizens. My wife has a residence card she is still considered an alien.

Which I would like to quickly add I never ethically agreed with green card holders being denied entry. The roll-out of this was a bit screwed up imo no matter what the law.

Ultimately the law is the law, that Ax1 posted. That law hasn't been challenged in the past, and presidents republican and democrat have used it to stop people from "immigrating" or coming in to the US from specified countries. Including Obama when he stopped all immigration from Iraq. Or Carter stopping all immigration from Iran. And a travel ban is just that. If you are a citizen, no problem. But green card holders getting caught up still didn't violate the law, which again hasn't been challenged in a court. Then Trump amended his proclamation by giving exemption to green card and visa holders, as well as foreign interpreters. Which he didn't have to do by the law, that hasn't been challenged in court before.

THE REALITY...a billionaire businessman related to the working man-[blue collar worker] better than the democrats did... the result is that trump motivated the working class to get out and vote, while the left got complacent/arrogant/lazy, and were convinced Hillary would win without their vote.

I wonder how many of those anti-trump protesters even bothered to vote?

FWIW, I have no issue with the ban itself; it's your country and you deserve the right to protect it any way you see fit. However what I disagree with is that you are making the victims out to be the bullies, when the US itself created ISIS and caused a tonne of issues in the middle east. You created these issues, and now you are blocking those seeking refuge from your ****-up.

The ban comes from Dump who has opposed wars, has nothing to do with the previous foreign policies of this country and also acknowledged Obama created ISIS.
