Donald Trump running for president

Stoning, beheading, etc etc... this isn't defense. This is how they lived back then, all of them. Christians also had their version of the Jihad already, far after the 'new testament' was written.
The Crusades? Some would consider Christianity to be merely a pretense for more "traditional" goals (land, wealth, power, etc); a justification and/or a way to get people on board to fight and possibly die.

please elaborate on how this applies to todays Christianity.

didn't you once reply 'the past is the past we are talking about now'?

It doesn't at all. I was saying that, in my opinion, using the Crusades to say that Christianity is bad/evil/violent is a bit flawed, as, realistically, leaders at the time merely used Chrisitianity as an excuse to go to war to gain land/wealth/power. Jesus would not have approved of the Crusades.

No matter what his policies are, a person with the above attributes is not suitable to lead.
I don't disagree with you. It's a lesser of two evils.

My issue with Hillary is that the established she represents has enabled and protected Clinton corruption for 30 years. Bill meets on the runway with the AG, the FBI identifies all the ways she betrayed our security yet can't find reason to prosecute, Obama endorses her and Bernie sells out and endorses her as well. It's disgusting how they are self preserving and self serving. That's not leadership - unless you call exploiting and sensationalizing moral civil and social agendas like abortion, same sex marriage and gender identification to the sheeple to distract them from their self preserving and self serving agendas leadership.

I definitely agree. We all despise Hillary in here, and most of us despise Trump too. I hope this election really pushes the need for 3rd parties in the US and wakes people up.

Not what I was saying/doing at all. I do believe most religions are flawed, but that's a whole other story (mostly due to the fact that humans 'run' religions, which is why I believe in individual spirituality).

thank you...I am glad I asked you to explain, I misunderstood where you were coming from in the earlier post!!!

Yeah. Of all the "Republican" names that get thrown around, I hoped that Rand Paul would have been the Republican nominee (he's not his father, but he's a hell of a lot better than Trump).

I wish newt were 10 years younger!!!

Haha, yeah, sometimes it's hard to determine intent online. I go to Church regularly (recently), and everything I read, and, more importantly, the actions of the people, are about compassion and helping others. I've seen or heard no mention of condemnation or exclusion, and it seems that a lot of major players in the Bible were violent before following Jesus, and then became peaceful after (am I wrong?). Of course, you run into problems when you take everything in a religious text (including the Bible) at literal face value and ignore any evidence pointing otherwise (like saying the Earth is only a few thousand years old when science proves otherwise), but the core message of Jesus seems to be compassion and peacefulness.

I'd even be happy with Romney as a stand in / write in for Trump. He's pretty moderate and respectable. But I'm still more of a fan of Gary/Libertarians.

To add to this. The way they paraded specific people at the DNC to sway voters or target specific groups was disgusting. Not a leadership I want

I haven't heard that. I think a lot of people, especially when Palin was relevant, confused the Tea Party with libertarians.

I apologetically read it from wikipedia (I know, bad source hehe)

"Paul has described himself as a Constitutional conservative and a supporter of the Tea Party movement and has advocated for a balanced budget amendment, term limits, and privacy reform."

100%

the 3 major religions follow basically the same old testament [with exceptions, of course]. I think historians consider the old testament accurate on many people, places and events---with several glaring exceptions, most notably creation.

Christianity is unfortunately the only one with a new testament....the old testament taught an eye for an eye, the new testament teaches do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

I think romney would be a damn good choice. He also would have had a cake walk to the white house with the way this election has been/is going. He not my #1 choice that would be pual ryan but he is tied for 2nd with gary Johnson; for me.

My go-to source for reading up on politicians is On the Issues. It shows you relevant stances, quotes, and votes for a variety of issues. It lists Rand Paul as a Libertarian Conservative.

For reference, Ron Paul is listed as a Conservative-Leaning Libertarian, as is Gary Johnson.

I heard today that Assange plans to release docs that will ensure Hillary's incarceration. I can only hope.

Remember the Muslim father the dems and media have lost their minds over? He's an attorney that sells green cards basically to muslim refugees. That's why he's so butt hurt about Trump saying he's going to clamp down on muslim immigration from ISIS countries. Looks like Mr Khan has deleted his law firm's ENTIRE WEBSITE. Not just parts that look bad. All of it.

I think people are confusing political correctness with good manners. Saying everything that's on your mind whenever you want doesn't make you a maverick or an outsider, it makes you a dick.

Why you had to bring chicken into the mix? That was borderline racist, gutter. Jus sayin yo.

Trump hasn't offended me yet. Bam! Veteran/military family/ wife who supports him and she's a legal immigrant from Mexico. #Trump2016

and Hillary has a legacy of behavior unbecoming her role as SoS at the least. People want to look at what he is not to disqualify him yet people can't see what she is that disqualifies her.

Yes none of us like Hillary here either ;) I thought we reached that consensus already. Neither are fit for presidency.

Anyone else getting tired of seeing our country become weaker by the day? I really used to think movies like Idiocracy are just so far fetched and implausible but then I read stories like this one. Apple IOS 10 is replacing their gun emoji with a water pistol emoji because people find it too menacing. It's stupid small crap like this that makes us weak. When have you ever looked at an emoji and felt terror or fear? It's ridiculous. If we keep this up we won't be able to have any pictures, opinions, or a voice that may have a difference in viewpoint from someone else; and where does that leave us? Keep in mind it's openly admitted they are doing this to cater to the anti-gun people and the other emojis to cater to the LGBT.

In regards to Assange, if he had anything that would bury Hillary or jeopardize any top political hidden agendas, I think he would be dead already.

It's too bad we can't hit the reset button and have a redo on this election year. Set an interim government for 1 year and just try again without them.
