My tour in Afghanistan was Operation Enduring Freedom. We were specifically told not to refer to it as a war. It was a "campaign"
Wow, thanks for sharing that!

Wasn't OEF during the Obama years?
During yes, can't remember what year it began though. Isn't it still going? I think OIF - Operarion Iraqi Freedom was during Bush Jr's years and trickled into Obamas, not sure if OEF did the same. I though OEF started post 9/11 which would have been Bush
I have no idea if they are renaming them tbh.
Looks like OEF was the original name given in '01 though. Who was president when you deployed?

Food for thought
If you are born a man, and truly identify as a woman you shouldn't even have male genitals so it should not be an issue.
Guys that do not get sex change surgery to remove their genitals are not trans, they are just cross dressing men and should use a men's restroom.
If you've had sex change surgery, and the hormone replacement therapy that comes with it, then you are a woman and should use the women's room.
People dont want to risk terrorists coming into our country, people dont want to risk people of the opposite gender in the bathroom with our daughters and wives, and people dont want to be defenseless against the nutjobs with guns.
Im cool with that. Have a dick -> mens restroom. No dick -> go ahead and use the women's. But who's gonna be the genitalia police outside every restroom? Not I.
They still have male chromosomes. They are man till death.
If I get my skin tattoo'd black, can I get better financial aid to go back to college since I am now a minority? Dont be racist and hate on black people such as myself.

We're trying to protect the things we care about. Simple as that.
I'm also not a raging Republican either, so dont pull that card. Im all for helping good people by giving them somewhere to live and also better enforcement of the CURRENT gun regulations. And honestly, I don't know where to go about the transgender bathroom thing. I'm not for restricting American's rights (trans community), but im also not for letting grown men into the girl's bathroom.
You're white privileged and don't understand how hard it is to live in America...
Lololol. I love this retort. Know what I color the Army sees? Green! Know what color the marines see? Brown! Navy? Blue. No color discrimination. I just got out of school full time and know what? The school only cared about who paid their financial dues, put in the work, and got verified. I'm so tired of this white privileged bullsh***. Work hard and you will succeed, no matter what damn color you are
I just said, from the few things i've read, we don't enforce the current regulations well enough so what you said on that proves nothing to me.
When immigration into the US was the highest, we weren't shooting up movie theaters or elementary schools and on the verge of a race war triggered by the media. What's going on inside this country is crazy right now and in no way are we stable enough to bring in a large amount of people that we think have a chance of terrorizing more. I understand what is going on over there is undeniably horrible, but we are too much of a mess ourselves to take that on too. And i dont think that only people from Syria want to terrorize America only that a dense population of the potential ones that do want to come here.
Had a super long thing typed out, closed out of the app to reply to a text came back and the what i typed was deleted. Paraphrasing, gun regulations in the south are a joke, [/url]
What regulations are you referring to exactly?

Well, these have been where 3 or more have been shot at once so it's not like a recent thing, from what I understand in 2013 the US hit a record number of immigrants coming to the states, which just so happen to be the year that of the sandy hook shooting, which wasn't done by an immigrant. Take on what too? The war between the Sunni and Shiites?
I lived in Chicago for 37 years and have now lived in Dallas for about 3. Chicago has some of the most strict gun laws and yet regularly breaks records for gun homicides. Living in Dallas where you can pretty much do whatever you want with a gun, I feel way safer! Sure there are gun homicides here too, but watch the Chicago news and the Dallas news on a Monday morning and tell me which one is talking about how 30 people got killed or injured from gunfire over the weekend including several small children. I'm with you. There is a huge problem, but I feel like people are putting their energy in the wrong direction. I don't know what the answer is, but more laws doesn't seem to be helping.
Chicago should follow the new Detroit model where the police chief came out and encouraged the people to go out and get a gun since police cant be there to protect them and watch the violence in Chicago drop just like it did in Detroit.
Cognitive dissonance:
More gun laws won't stop people from getting guns, but bathroom laws will stop predators from going into bathrooms.
Makes perfect sense.
Oh man, no offense but the army is a different world than everyday life in the states, I'm sure you can understand. Please elaborate on how you haven't seen any privilege due to skin color? Are you just ignoring things like separate but equal and the systematic effect it has on our society today? Or nah.

You really can't use bathroom incident stats over any amount of time to push the case having unisex bathrooms. In the past it's been very hard to not notice a male going into a women's restroom. Making it acceptable for males to go in opens that door up.
+1 for a restroom for penises and adam's apples and a restroom for vaginas. Poor Obama wouldn't know which one to choose...
Adam's apples can get shaved down too lol. And women have one. It just doesn't tend to enlarge at puberty like ours.
How can I elaborate on how I haven't seen any privilege being white? I worked my ass off In high school, worked over 12 years construction; waking up at 3:30am at work by 5am and home by 3:30pm. Spent 6 years in the national guard and did a tour in Afghanistan as a Cav Scout providing over watch to the Air Force and Army for a joint task force. Went back to school and now work in Network Administration.
My color didn't get up every day for 12 years at 3:30am, my color didn't put his life on the line for his country, my color didn't give 110% in all schooling. My bills come to my name, not my color. I am honored to be where I am in life, but it didn't come easy and I have never once NEVER ONCE thought "damn life is good because of my white privileges". Oh and my wife was born in Mexico and came to the U.S. legally, put herself through school and became a citizen in 2011 and couldn't be more proud to be an American Citizen. I know what hard work looks like, and it doesn't have a color.![]()
Thank you for serving, but all your saying is how you didn't personally deal with or care to notice any privilege and that's your case of why there is not white privilege in the US. You can either go to the link I'm about to post or choose to ignore that too. Invalid Link Removed
But hey it shouldn't be to much to understand how our country's history of discriminatory and racist laws has an effect of modern culture and society, Right?

I don't know you, and I hope we can continue to keep things civil but I'm the last few pages you have asked more questions without much contribution. I don't know your ethnicity and it doesn't really matter to me, but it feels like (from where I sit on my computer or phone, judging a persons opinion based on a text on a screen) that your goal is only to instigate. Your posts that I've read in here come across one sided and judgmental, so maybe you have experienced some racially fueled adversity. You're here and alive and you are making your own life, so I commend you (if that's the case) for taking control and not letting anyone keep you from your dreams. If you do have any resentment towards a race for possible discrimination, know that I'm not your enemy.

You had to pick rappers huh, couldn't find 3 pictures of successful doctors or lawyers?
Huh? Where?
LOL!
Huh? Where?
LOL!
Denzel??? LL Cool J??? Will Smith?? Stevie Wonder???
Id list Obama as a successful black man, but he only half black and worse off cousins with Dick Cheney so that dont count.
Kenyan and Muslim. .....
I dont believe he is Kenyan though, I dont think that was his real father. Muslim possibly yes, hard to say but he probably picked that up when he was in Indonesia as a little boy.
I think that the reason he released that fake photoshopped birth certificate is to cover up who his real father is which is his mother's porno photographer "Frank" who he mentions as his mentor in his biography.
Frank Marshall Davis was a communist in Hawaii on a FBI watch list (think the cold war at that time) who also happened to move to Chicago and Obama mentions he moved to Chicago to be closer to his mentor and he specifically called him Frank.
Now, to make a long story short, Obama's grandfather was CIA and having some commie impregnate his daughter just didnt look good, so they used that Kenyan as a part of the cover up. Notice how that dude barely was in her life too.
Anyways Ill cut it there some food for thought, another time Ill get into his stepfather's life who was a Exxon executive and also a general for one of the most brutal dictators of the past 100 years and took part in genocid in East Timor,
But wow....Obama certainly has an extensive background, when I voted for him back in '08 (sorry about that, lol) I thought he just was some cool dude who started as a community organizer.
I voted for him in '08 and NOT in '12. I realized he was full of crap
