I use those all the time in China....goes some 200mph. What was a 12+ hour train ride from Beijing to Shanghai now takes me 4.5 hours. Far mor convenient than a plane trust me.

I definitely think people back then lived in far more of a bubble, so a lot of people weren't exposed to views outside of their immediate family. We definitely have many luxuries today (such as public discussion groups, forums, far reaching media), exposed to far more views, truths, and realities - compared to the past. I often wonder how much people are a product of their surroundings, this is why I try to have compassion for everyone.

We have Elon Musk and he licenses his hyperloop to a couple of companies here yet it looks like the first hyperloop for public use is about to be built in the UAE!

If we can end these wars and lower our military budget (I wouldn't call it a defense budget), we can focus more efforts internally.

Yeah, Trump says our military is falling apart, LOL. We still have some of the most, if not THE best, technology in warfare of any nation.

Straight up angry death metal is all I listen to while lifting. Noone else is there when I am :D. I guess I'm an angry white person too, LOL.

He's a very poor communicator. I've been in aerospace for a long time and our technology is of the greatest in the world.

I like to believe (could be wrong) that he is referring to the mismanagement and mishandling of our men and woman and resources.

My anger has never been social or political injustice. Mine has always been family dysfunction (neglect abuse) and in particular absent (abandonment) father.

I think the latter is part of mine. I do have a good bit of anger towards the first about social or political injustice. That might be because I was picked on during school for being a smart fat kid, LOL.

I was picked on too for being a fat kid....I try to bring things like that up from my life when I step into the gym to provide training motivation. Im surprised political issues can motivate people in the gym, but hey if that works keep doing it!

I love running into those a'holes who are now fat and I just dont need to say anything...I just know, F' you did it bitch!

People are weird. I woke up yesterday to "**** Trump" spray painted on the walls of new condos in my neighborhood, as though the gentrifiers are responsible for this. These people don't realize that NYC is about 98% liberal lol.... Yuppies and gentrifiers included.

Idiots....you should have seen how much spray paid was all over NYC and brooklyn back in the early-mid 80's. I can remember it clearly when I was a kid there.

I still find it unfortunate that there is fear and hate and although trumps words suck I blame the sensationalism of it on the media.

I praise Hillary for her concession speech yet I don't believe (or it's evident) that her followers did not hear or see it and they certainly did not heed her words.

They are reacting to fear, real or imagined, and they are victims in part IMHO that Hillary herself sensationalized campaigned on.

Let's face it trump has zero power to inflict any of his empty threats on anyone.

They (the system) still have them exactly how they want them.

4th of July was crazy in brooklyn in the 80's. Constantly bombs (well dynamite) were being set off all day in dumpsters.....streets were so dangerous from massive fireworks the police had to shut them down from traffic, buildings caught fire....Gotti even had his own fireworks, I remember someone fell off the building and didnt even sue lol. The apartment building across from me burned down once.

I dont believe anything about her concession speech, its just words....they are going to plot the next war against the revolution and take down Dump, globalists hate him. Unless Dump was all along a apart of it, I have no idea yet.

The bicentennial and operation sail (I believe) was awesome. My grandfather was a long shore man and we had waterfront seats!

When I think of the explosives I had in my hands ;)

The streets were on fire...literally.

I was literally in shock when I heard that Trump had been announced president; I am very confused how this megalomaniac with very limited political experience, managed to not only start his running for president, but also managed to convince the large majority of people that he is fit to run the US.

Looking back you can see that how he did it was very smart, even if you do not agree with the things he said or the way he approached it. In all honesty, the one saving grace I find that he has is that he is looking to restore relations with Russia. How he plans to do that, I don't know. Conspiracy theorists will say that he will give away secrets or almost betray the US but I doubt that - those same conspiracy theorists thought that Clinton would win and now those same conspiracy theorists would say it was the secret government that allowed Trump to win. No matter what, it is always going to be a conspiracy for them.

At the end of the day, not being an American and not residing there I can say I am somewhat relieved as the threat of nuclear war has become less and less of a reality now than it was at the beginning of the week. And that is my saving grace from someone outside the US where your political ramifications have global impact - as for how the country will look due to his presidential status, I truly hope he does some good for you as you are the ones who have to live day to day with his policies.

The bolded contradicts your opening line. The difference is you get a pass because you don't live here. Go back and look at the election results from 2008 to 2016. You'll see that after 2 years of democrat controlled Legislative and Executive branches, the non democrat voters have slowly gone the other way. Republicans in the House won in a landslide in 2010, thanks to fed up "Tea Party" voters that were Taxed Enough Already, shifting that control. Republicans ran a defensive campaign for president in 2008 with McCain. Then they did the same in 2012 with Romney. So what did the voters do, the demolished democrat candidates in positions from the Senate all the way down ballot to state and local elextend offices. And all along, the ruling class continued to ignore and disparage those voters that put them in power. So what's next. The last part of the trifecta. All the pollsters and media types completely ignored those "uneducated" voters, that they fail to see as the middle class they are supposed to champion. As shown in all the Wikileaks email dumps, a large portion of the mainstream media and the pollsters actually colluded to sway the narrative, instead of just reporting what is going on as an unbiased journalist.

Months, Iran has their champion that has funded their nuclear progress. The Iranian leaders have said for YEARS they are going to wipe Israel off the face off tthe earth. They have been caught hiding nuclear programs and technology they claimed to not have, years before Obama signed the nuclear deal. MUCH like the Iranian hostage crisis, they held the US because of our weak kneed leader. When did they release those prisoners? Just before a strong leader that vowed to handle America's business and stop being bullied by other countries. They have 3 months left to do something stupid while Obama is in the White House. You're glad Russia is going to back down their aggression with us. Why have they been? Why has Iran been harassing our ships? Russia may decide to play nice, it's yet to be seen. But don't think Iran is going to suddenly change their course.

Haha, I take for granted what we have here, however the thought process is much different to the US. We have subsidized schooling and healthcare which goes against some of the Americans sense of freedom, even despite the fact NZ has a higher freedom index than the US. I find that very ironic, lol.

The US has a low freedom index because Washington pisses on its laws and the Constitution they swore in to protect.
