I saw the thread where the gun store was robbed and the owners were executed and all security footage deleted and it makes me wonder if having a weapon gives some of us a false sense of security that we probably shouldn’t have?
I have had my concealed carry permit since 2016 and I have a .45, a 9mm and a AR15 rifle. Recently I was eating at a restaurant and thought of a hypothetical scenario if someone was coming to kill or assault me. Even though I have the weapon in my holster I am relaxed and thinking of the next forkful of food that I’ll stuff in my mouth. The other guy is ready, planning every move and more likely than not by the time I realize I’m in danger and start reaching for my weapon he probably would have shot me first.
Most gun store owners also give gun training classes and are licensed to teach the class so you can get your concealed carry permit. Chances are they are way better during a deadly situation than most of us who occasionally go to the gun range. If the attackers were able to get to them then what are the odds in a deadly scenario or a home invasion for us regular folks?
